Mine straight up failed one time, the camera display had crazy stuff all over it. Sent a screen grab to them and they warranty replaced it.

How many degrees? I couldn't find any documentation of it and couldn't remember where I had heard it.

Is the gun on the hornet tilted up slightly vs centerline of the plane to make firing on a turning adversary easier, but making engaging ground targets more difficult? I could have sworn I read that somewhere many years ago but a quick internet search turned up nothing.

Looks like they have a club you can join to get priority if you have purchased from them in the past. -
That is insanely cheap. Where are you located and how is it generated?

Setting realistic expectations for the Hornet

The E and F are a completely different airplane that happens to be sort of the same shape as the original A-D. -
The answer to your question is yes, you can do that with the extra card. If you are buying power supplies, the difference between a bronze and a platinum or titanium can be worth it depending on local energy costs, it pays to do the math. Under high load even the mains cable can matter. Several years back I had a system that drew over 1kw and if you used a cheapo cord it would get hot while a heavy cord didn't. Power consumption with the skinny cord was 10 watts higher when I tested it.

TM Cougar HOTAS - worth buying?
Gearbox replied to sea2sky's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Shit, I didn't know there was a market for the stock gimbals, I'm pretty sure I chucked mine. It's a really brilliant piece of ergonomics, it fits perfectly in the hand and everything is right there with no ambiguity. It's much more comfortable to use than the warthog one. -
Yup UV is very bad for lexan in particular.

TM Cougar HOTAS - worth buying?

There were a number of mods on the market including force sensing options. Mine has the uber gimbal mod and it's awesome. Is the shapeways produced knockoff one good? I would be worried about the durability of plastic in this application but since it's a cheap 3d print you can always get another one. -
If you're playing a quick twitch reaction game where the guy who shoots first when you come around a corner at each other wins, then every Hz you have over your opponent is an advantage.

The ozone hole wasn't really related to global warming though. CFC propellants for aerosol cans and freon used in air conditioning were thought to make its way to the upper atmosphere and damage the ozone layer. Usage of these was banned/sharply curtailed and the hole pretty much repaired itself. But this was about ultraviolet damage to people, not temperature.

Stock cougars were notoriously unreliable and finicky because the pots were pretty crappy and the gimbals were made of pot metal that wore badly. Upgraded ones with ball bearing gimbals and hall sensors are a whole different world. Are you looking at a stock one or a modded one? -

I had pretty bad luck finding any information about it. Did find this amusing bit about the film-based system in the SR-71 though: https://books.google.com/books?id=6svmtOFa1JIC&pg=PA72&lpg=PA72&dq=film+based+moving+map&source=bl&ots=pwCfwfL22I&sig=KPKP_5ViqhDRwiLR1VjPFjqAnMo&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwikrJ-J8_PYAhVETd8KHQPDAGsQ6AEIODAD#v=onepage&q=film%20based%20moving%20map&f=false -
AIM-54 Effect on MP (now that we can test it in the sim)
Gearbox replied to Xavven's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I found a photo of it but it could be from testing and evaluation. 190lbs x2 of sidewinders doesn't seem like a lot to add but 6 phoenixes is a lot of weight so I guess you'd leave them home if you didn't plan to use them, saves wear and tear on them from being carried around too I guess. -

The under-wing position for the phoenix could hold a sidewinder in addition in case someone got close. This doesn't have all the stats but the AIM-54 fared well in the Iran-Iraq war: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Iranian_aerial_victories_during_the_Iran%E2%80%93Iraq_war -

I've been reading through this thread because it's pretty interesting and this stuck out. How did this work? Would you create a map with waypoints and such on it using a system at the base/ship and then get it printed on a transparency and loaded into the display? -
Xbox One X has 12GB of RAM shared between the CPU and GPU, seems a little light.
