  1. It's been an on-going struggle with I2J from the beginning between historical accuracy and playability. The balance has made the three of us re-evaluate our own wants and needs, but nothing is off the table initially. We greatly appreciate and want your thoughts about current gameplay and where you would like to see this go from here. We will then have a comprehensive discussion and decided whether to continue the concept. Alot of that decision hinges on two questions. First, can we do it without overly affecting what we have already. Second, does this reasonably fit the time line demographics we are working within. You will NOT see an F-4 loaded with AIM120s. Because of this evolving gameplay, so things may change a bit. The Loach was employed as observation only. All weapons on or attached were there to defend the bird and crew specifically. Their job was to find, fix (mark), and step aside so the gun-bunnies could do their thing and destroy the target. In our gameplay that's mixed a bit. When the Cobra becomes available this could change. And this is just a small example of the work we face when we open the folders and start working on "what's next"....boy do we love this game!
  2. I can not emphasize enough how much fun this mission is flying around in the Cayuse, Huey gunships trolling the area and Charlie pumping tracers in your direction. We have spent hours and hours tweaking this CSAR/Jungle Attack setup and enjoyed every minute of it. So turn up your favorite Stones, Doors, or Hendrix and ride your best Vietnam era aircraft into a genuine step back in time.....Have A Blast! Thank you Mister Mann [Kandy] and Devil505 [Mongo] for all of your hard work.
  3. Is it me....or did "...subject to change" just hit me in the cargo door?
  4. It is a major blast and incredibly fun to have the opportunity to fly with these two guys on a semi-regular schedule. Their talents in creating technical content and testing technical content are wonderfully entertaining. Me? I'm the middle guy that you you have to drag through the missions waiting for them to catch up and generally creating all those "DUH" moments that are hard to program for. Therein lies my contribution...but it's great fun learning all those new things I otherwise would miss. Come join me...download and fly with Mistermann, Devil505, and myself...Wulf103.
  5. Having been one of the lucky two who flew these missions and helped in some small way to improve them, I have a few comments I'd like to add... 1) If you're an Apache driver, solo or team, PLAY THESE MISSIONS! You won't be disappointed...I promise. The quality and complexity Mistermann built into them is outstanding without being overpowering so as to make the mission impossible to successfully complete. They're fun and instructive requiring you to develop skills as the mission's progress. 2) Part of the mission, for me, is the interaction between you (or your flight) with the controllers on the radios as well. I can guarantee that the audio portion has been greatly enhanced and represents a more "realistic and authentic" experience. Having said that, I must warn you that the dialog gets colorful at times and is definitely not NSFW. If that offends you, then you are in the wrong helicopter attack squadron. By the way, almost all the voices in the dialog are Mistermann and his Mrs. Mistermann....excellent work. 3) And lastly, there's real "fun factor" here. I can't emphasize enough that feeling when you line up and settle into the FARP after a challenging mission....and pancake that Apache so hard she flips on her side and destroys herself....been there and done that. But here's the difference. In these missions I wanted to get back into the game and do it again (but better) a second time. But the mission won't be identical. They change sometimes dramatically, and sometimes minutely. For me that made for part of the fun factor. So give it a try....we think you'll enjoy the challenge....Three out.
  6. Just a question,  but have all the F-4 packages been shipped? I have not received mine yet. I understood they were shipped in early March...

I think, not yet all, wait or write to Heatblur support?

  7. Oh boy! Something that I have been waiting for forever is finally coming to pass. The OH-6A Cayuse scout has been one of my absolute favorite aircraft of all times. A few years back I obtained a Cayuse static plastic model by 21st Century Toys in GI-Joe scale (1/6th). Being a lifelong modeler, I went about reconfiguring as much as I could ending a years worth of work with something I like and has won show awards. To get there, I got as many references I could find....such as the December 1976 TM for the OH-6A (Operators Manual) # 55-1520-214-10. I am making it available to you for this project should you need.
  8. Your post on the Roadmap topic regarding Reflectives new P-47 skins is incorrect. The skins have markings where there should be none. The USAAF changed the national insignia to a blue circle and white star with a yellow band around it. However, they also changed the wing locations from both wing upper and lower to left upper and right lower wings only. This carried through revisions taking the yellow band off and later adding bars to the national insignia. Reflective video shows the upper wings correct, but the lower wings have national insignia on both wings which is an error.

Recomend contact with @Reflected for that issue.

@Wulf103 thanks for the heads up, but if you check the photos here, you'll find examples of both with and without insignia on the underside of the left wing. Most seemed to have them on both wings though:

The photos you link to are bomber escort groups and you are correct in the national insignia appearing on both lower wings...but that actually did not apply to all of their aircraft. Technical Order 07-1-1 established an "unbalanced" rule for wing national insignia  meaning upper left and lower right only. Bomber escorts flying P-38, P-47, and P-51 aircraft were exempt at commanders discretion because the extra lower wing insignias were thought to help bomber crews identify these aircraft as friendly...and the lower insignias were often oversized. Your video explains that these skins are good for any P-47 unit...I believe your wording uses "generic"...and that's not correct. None bomber escort units, namely "Jabo" 'bolts and those not dedicated to bomber escort duties were painted in the unbalanced insignia standard as a general (generic) rule.

  9. As one of the "Three Amigos" having flown this mission during its development, and the least talented noob, I can testify that it's challenging and fun at the same time! The immersion is top notch and the game play will keep you entertained and on your toes. Check six often!
  10. Sorry Art-J....went there but no such entry is in the module manager. The Normandy and Channel maps appear as they always have.
  11. When I saw tis was finally available earlier today, I thought "YES!" and I completed the transaction to add it to my other terrain choices. However, since I was not home and on a smartphone at the time, I couldn't do the download. When I got home, I immediately fired this puppy up and went to the EA site, logged in and verified the module was all paid for and mine to download. Fine.....but where to download it from? The only link is to the open beta World 2.8 (which I run) that must be version 2.8.4 or later (which I have). The only message I receive is the same one Eldur posted above stating it's not compatible with Steam (I'm not running the Steam version of DCS). I've logged into the game (both ST and MT versions) and neither indicates Normandy 2.0 is present or available anywhere I look. What seems to be the problem here......?
  12. Not sure but I think this is in-line with your observations regarding fog. In the instant missions (MiG-21bis) take-off, the cockpit interior and immediate area ground is fine, but beyond that the entire world is bleached out or obscured completely. Here's a screen shot .....
