One TM Warthog profile vs. two sets of Pilot/RIO controls
_Hoss replied to hobbes57's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
If you are running TARGET GUI you can use the IN/OUT function on the stick, IN = Pilot, OUT = RIO. You can build two distinct profiles. On the throttle you have UP/MIDDLE/DOWN modes, thats two more profiles besides the "Middle" default mode. Plus Sequence and Chain commands. Its all quite easy to do in the GUI function. -

Winwing Orion Max, for Warbirds?
_Hoss replied to MStewart40's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I get a bit miffed with the DCS P-47, you can control cowl flaps with an analog control, but not the slider controls on the left side wall, where I can with the other Sims axis controls. I've got a BlackHog with six additional axis controls. It can be a pain to switch hands so I can locate the sliders and adjust them with the mouse...... not the best ergonomics. -

TM Warthog (Thrust lever) & TM Rudder Pedals both using Joy-Z problem
_Hoss replied to FopaUK's topic in Thrustmaster
Do you have TARGET installed? You can change all the axis' to the stick and throttle and the response curves out of the game with TARGET. It's so much more than just a GUI/SCRIPT program. While you are there update your Firmware too. Cheers -

Reverse the axis in axis tune, you have to do the same thing with toe brakes, there are other ones too. Just have to adapt and overcome as best we can. -
Thurstmaster is no longer the gold standard for flight simulation.
_Hoss replied to Toga10's topic in Thrustmaster
The F-16EX does not look very ergonomic either. I'll stick with the TMWH set up I have, it's a good eleven years old. It may not be the gold standard any more, but it works perfectly. My Tacoma is 16 years old, looks great, runs great, it was paid for the day I bought it, and like my HOTAS I see no reason to replace it. I guess they must be listening after all. The Mustangs Hot Air and Ram Air levers actually work now and are controllable with analog sliders. I have not tested if they still have an effect on the engine performance. But I'm seeing that when I land and refuel, rearm, or pick another plane, the analog control of R/P/Y with GVLs controller is lost, I'm constantly having to restart the game to get it to work again on the Pony, Jug and Mossie, I don't fly the Spitfire much because of the video distortion in the cockpit. The problem is there is no dedicated team to test modules to see if the New Kid on the Block's development has damaged other modules. I beta test in the other sim and we always look to see if all the A/C still work, in Single/Multi/Campaign environments. I only hope they have it right when they release these buggy Beta's as a Release Candidate for the "Stable" version Cheers Squeaky Wheel....................

You have to push a button for Voice Attack? make sure the button for PTT is not the same as any of the F1-F12 buttons for the menu screen, or some overlay button. My voice attack does not show up while I'm using it, because I use an open mic for it. My PTT is for SRS, TS, or in game comms. And by the red X'd out circle on your "Listen" control panel it looks like you have it turned off. Try not using a joystick command to have VA listen, go back to open mic and see how it works. Good Luck

The USN will use Growlers/Prowlers for area (A/O) jamming on a broad scale of known systems (Intellegence) they want to jam or deny use to the enemy. DECM on tactical aircraft is only used to get the pilot into the target area and out of it again, DECM uses pulse for pulse deception of target tracking RADAR or the active seeker in the missiles nose. AN/ALE-41 type Chaff system is used to build corridors/walls like window chaff used in WWII. The Growlers don't care how far or close they are to the A/O because they are ACTIVE all the time. Tactical DECM when set to Repeat/Transmit will only start transmitting when they have a signal strength strong enough to enable circuits in the transmitter. So just because it's on does not mean it is actually transmitting. Once the A/C has deployed it's ordnance the DECM is designed to stay on a bit longer to allow time for it to get away. So the Ukrainian Air Force is being highly adaptive in its use because they understand how it's used. But they have to get close enough to make the systems turn on, unless they hardwired/modified it to do otherwise. And another thing you have to remember, the Ukrainian and Russian systems are not dissimilar. But Mig-29s fighting other Mig-29s with the same RADAR/DECM system should not see each other as a threat unless one side or the other has modified the RADARS carrier freq, PRF and PRT of it's transmitted RADAR pulse, then one looks pretty much like the other. I'm sure they are doing things you and I are not privy too, to overcome some of these situations. Case in point, during the Iran, Iraq war the Iranian AF had F-4's and F-14's, the US Navy came up with the AN/DLQ-3B (Pod) to handle this situation, because the AN/ALQ-100 in the F-14 and the AN/ALQ-126A in the A-7, and A-6s, the EA-6B even had it, would never respond to a lock from an F-4 or F-14, (pilot has to a call buddy spike) the threat library in the ALR-45/50 and ALQ-126A were programed to see it as friendly. I'm sure the Dev's have a broad understanding of how ECM and DECM, ECCM are supposed to work in theory, but in actuality, they have to assume for our entertainment experience. They can do anything they wish, with the code to make everyone happy, but is it authentic?................... Who cares it's a GAME!........................... Sorry, a SIM......... Cheers and happy flying! Hoss “Knowledge is the treasure, and practice is the key to it” Lao Tzu https://www.radartutorial.eu/16.eccm/ja01.en.html

Newegg and Fraud = DO NOT BUY FROM THERE
_Hoss replied to Hammer1-1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I guess results vary, been buying from newegg since the mid 90s and nary a hitch. Just got my 1TB M.2 SSD yesterday, installed and working great. I have found you need to read everything about the terms, who's selling it, where it's coming from, and return/warrantees before you buy, from every retailer. Fools and their money are quickly separated....... avoid being the fool, your money doesn't go as far today as it did just yesterday. Cheers -
If you could pick any map next, what would it be? (Poll Vote)
_Hoss replied to dimitri18's topic in DLC Map Wish List
Getting new maps; it would be great to have them done like the Marianas map, with current, WWII, and mid century Korean/Vietnam Era conflicts if they fit the geography. We have nothing for the Korean war jets, but having the neo modern version gives you that time span between the 50s to now for numerous scenarios. Especially carrier ops, and the opportunity to make some scratch on all the now new aircraf, ships, theater packages. If they made them in that format from the beginning if applicable, would greatly benefit everyone instead of being a niche map market. JMTCW....... Cheers -
Are you using TARGET?, or some other software to program your HOTAS? or nothing at all, just dx presses?. What Aircraft are you having troubles with, is there an error file of your problem? Are you using the open beta or release version?. Does the button work for another aircraft?, have you tried slaving the button/Switch to a unrelated command to see if it works there?.... Reason I ask, is if you are using the open beta you could be experiencing a bug. I thought my BlackHog was bad after an update, where it no longer worked as it should have when I programed it at an earlier time and it worked. I verified that with the Jug and Mossie for keyboard and analog trim bugs, they all worked in the Mustang using the BlackHog. Do some more troubleshooting and eliminate instances where it works and does not. I'm sure there will be more advice to follow from others. But, I do know the LASTE three way switch will not operate correctly unless you have the EAC and RDR ALTIM switches in the correct position. Remember the TMWH is made to compliment the A-10 and the way it works. Imagination and experimentation are the words of the day when you try to get it to work the same way on other platforms. Let us know how you are coming along.. Cheers Hoss

Yeah, I have the same problem. The Jug seems to be plagued with problems getting things to work, there are no keystrokes for any of the bomb arming commands, unlike he Mustang. Trying to assign keystrokes to the jug control GUI for Keyboard, when bugged do not work on my BlackHog, had the same problem with the Mossie. I knew the BH was not the problem because the same switches on it work in the Mustang for bomb arming because it has keyboard "values" for the action. I also had the same problem with the Mossie. They both work now, but I grind my teeth every time a new beta comes out. But I have had the oil gauge not work even before I discovered how to turn on the lights. I guess an update is coming out Thursday?.................. FINGERS CROSSED.............

My LG 32" monitor is G-Sync compatible and I'm running a 3080ti, I use G-sync and nothing else. When I had an inferior VGA I used the in game v-sync and and told nvidia to not to use v-sync or triple buffering. Both work great to stop screen tearing. I get 50 to 70 fps in the Wolfpack campaign, using the full settings recommended by Reflected, if your computer can handle it. My monitor is 164fps max with the correct video card and cable.

Are "Sequence", "Chain" and "Tempo" programing possible with this utility? -
Going thru the tutorials I find what I need to map and and decide where I want it to be located. Decide on Sequence, Chain, and tempo commands and then go from there. Check the downloads section on the website "Profiles" and see if someone has posted one for the module you want. I don't use them I just look to see how they are using all the buttons, and if it's ergonomic or not. Are you using TARGET GUI or SCRIPT?......
-
You should use TARGET to set up your devices and insure they are working correctly and software/firmware are up to date. You don't have to use the GUI or Script, but you are really narrowing your full potential for the TMWH. I use Sedenions Complete 120 DX program for DCS, works great, just like not using TARGET but instead of 32/64 buttons I get 120 with TEMPO commands (long/short presses) I also use a modifier (S3/Lever) on my stick to double commands on my BlackHog Explorer's dx presses. Razbam has a profile here....................... https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/type-is-profile/unit-is-av-8b/sort-is-date_desc/apply/?PAGEN_1=2 Grim Reapers.... they have an arse load of tutorials on pretty much all of the current DCS aircraft, and plenty on the Harrier.

_Hoss replied to Xentrox's topic in General DCS Squadrons
Try AG-51..... VUSN group, F-14 (VF-51), F-18, AV8B, A-4, and F-4 when it comes out. They also fly F-16, and helps. They build their own missions and fly on their private server on mission nights. If interested, PM me and I'll send you their web site. They have been around for over 20 years in IL2 and DCS, so they will be around for awhile longer. Hoss
