Grim Reapers YouTube channel look for JoyPro. You set Roll, Pitch, yaw, brakes, flaps, etc. once for all the planes you have in your module bag. Mod planes show up in the list too (A-4). You add a plane and it's settings will automatically be there. Good program...... Hoss

Check out Grim Reapers YouTube channel, there is an app for that, they show you where to download, install and set up.

LOL, I hear you, I think from the video I'm probably older than you. I've got an old Holiwood bedframe out in the garage, if I drug that in the house the missus would think I lost my mind after I told her what it was for. On your next iteration of your pit, figure out how to make a large Lazy Susan version....... motorized!. And take lots of pictures of the build process. Cheers mate Hoss

Yeah, I thought it was for VR at first, then I finally saw the screen. It is a nice set up. My wife would kill me if I took the bedframe to make a set up like yours. LOL Hoss

You are almost correct, but you have a better understanding of DECM than most of the other comments I have read in this post. Question: If you are in a US Navy Aircraft and you go up against a IIAF F-4 or a F-14, what are you going to do? What is the piece of gear rushed into service to decieve those RADARS? This goes back to the Gulf War between Iran and Iraq. Operation Preying Mantis April 18, 1988. We actually had IIAF F-4's come out to intercept our Airwing while we were sinking their ships. I quickly had to learn how to operationally test this piece of equipment. DECM has a memory that's called a threat library, that I.D.s all the RADAR by their finger prints it has on file, (PRF/PW) of the received signals it sees. If the DECM signal received is not in that library the repeater will put out a noise technique that is continuous, instead of a pulse for pulse deception technique (they effect range and azimuth) designed to break lock. But only when the received signal reaches a predetermined input sensitivity in the receiver. It will also turn off (stop repeating) when the signal reaches another threshold. So, just because you switch from Receive to repeat does not mean it starts repeating. I read another post on APG-63 RADAR, the guy believed the power at the antenna was 12kw..the AN/APG-65, AN/APG-73 and also the AN/ALQ-126B all have the same exact output power, and its no where near 12kw. LMAO! And I believe Karon is correct, I think you are just seeing noise from the enemy when he transmits on his DECM or ECM. ANSWER: It was the AN/DLQ-3B and it was a pod hung on the wing. I love these posts. Cheers Hoss USN ret. 77-97

reported AN/APG-63 range is under-represented
_Hoss replied to GGTharos's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
Yeah.......Are you sure that's correct? Doing an FTP (Functional Test Program) on a AN/APG-65 and APG-73 RADAR I never measured 12,000 watts coming out of the Transmitter into the dummy loads, (the power of the transmitted pulse going to the antenna) the USN measures power in dbm. When you convert the dbm over to watts, it was definitely not 12kwatts. I don't know where you guys get this information from. The AN/APG-63 would never be able to handle that much power, you would have to have on hell of a step up coil between the transmitter and antenna. And those kinds of statistics on a Military RADAR weapons system are classified. Electronic Counter Measures would never be able to burn through the power of a 12,000 watt RADAR. And the cockpit would have to be sheilded, like the Prowler's was. Even though the antenna is pointed forward there would be side lobes more powerful than the actual transmitted pulse of a real APG-63. -
Don't forget the CVL's and the CVE's, they could use some love too.

At first they were designed to do just that......

Yes, the Enterprise is based off of a Kitty Hawk class ship, just had reactors instead of conventional power. There were two different island structures for the Enterprise as well. I was ships company on the USS Constellation CV-64, (Kitty Hawk class) two cruises on the Enterprise CVN-65, and ships company on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72. I've been on the Kitty Hawk, America, Nimitz, Ranger, to get cross deck equipment, or to take it to them, I don't see the issue of which carrier you are going to use i.e. the Nimitz or the Lincoln, same class, so unless you have the entire Air Wing Complement of Air Craft to put on it with the correct squadron skins and all the correct side numbers, why worry about the number on the side of the boat.. This reminds me of conversations I've had on here about DECM and how it really works, not how it's modeled on here. pointless after awhile. LOL Anchors Aweigh and Fair Winds and Following Seas.... All the modern carriers from CVN-68 to CVN-77 are all Nimitz class carriers, if they have liveries, put the number on it you want. The Forrestal class is here now, same with them, CV-59 thru 62, There are two Kitty Hawk class, CV-63, 64, the Enterprise CVN-65 sits on the same hull, just different power plant, and two different island structures. I would like to see a light carrier of the Independance class CVL's done for the Marianas. And the great Essex class CV-9 THRU 47........ the Essex served from 12/42 to 06/69. So basically they only need to build one of each class and use the livery you want for your various needs. Hoss USN ret.

The French used it in Vietnam quite a bit. I've seen videos of the Marianas used as Vietnam. Imagination, and adaptation are keys to getting the most out of a very good but limited sim. An A1-D Skyraider, F9F Panther would be nice to go along with the Corsair, with an Essex class Carrier thrown in. The developers will make what they want, without a collective effort to make an authentic Order of Battle for a theater (ETO, PTO) we will just have do what Gunny Highway said and adapt and overcome, with what we have. LOMAC should still be the name of this game.

New FA18C TM Grip.... can't map buttons
_Hoss replied to C_Dub73's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Is your Firmware up to date? for the stick? latest one is Firmware 12, the Throttle is firmware 23. with the Stick firmware, when I was running 11, I could see all the new stuff in the TARGET Command GUI. page. But I use the F-16 stick. When I used the latest version of the 128dx script it would not compile because I was not running the latest firmware. http://ts.thrustmaster.com/faqs/eng/thr_eng_00136.pdf go to your start menu, in search type "Firmware Update" and the ThurstMaster firmware updater program will open, you will see the F/A-18 stick and your throttle, click on the stick and follow the instructions. Piece of cake................ Hoss -

"Dire Straits" - why does my radar not show any targets?
_Hoss replied to Brausepaul's topic in Missions and Campaigns
My DCS mantra is "Practice, practice and practice some more" Your Deception Repeater (DECM) going into Repeat should not effect your RADAR at all, the Interference Blanker takes care of that. If it does, it's modeled wrong and should be fixed. If your wingman can lock and shoot, their DECM is not the problem either. So go back over the tutorials, all you can find of using your AARAM's. Otherwise your Dire Straights problem means you spent "Money for Nothing"............. sorry, had too.... Grim Reapers have good tutorials on Youtube, and some other good pilots have tutorials on there too. there are 104 Grim Reaper tutorial videos on the F/A-18 alone on their youtube channel. In fact they have good stuff on everything DCS has to offer. Cheers and good luck. Hoss -
Ask the people from Meza Mount. I believe Monstertech has mounts for those, not sure if they use the same size (dimension) drop arms to get them to work.

correct as-is Start-up Training Mission Hangs-up @ Priming
_Hoss replied to cdrkrotchetyusn's topic in Bugs and Problems
P-51 familiarization where it has you move the controls on left side of cockpit freezes, you can move the flashing controls all day long and the mission hangs up. It's been that way for years. -
We will have to model all hands on deck for a FOD Walkdown then................the Air Boss will be watching................ better have your head down, eyes on the deck, and not be Sky Larking.................. Hoss

BlackHog Explorer.................. the two red buttons B4/B6 I use for Radio 1, 2, (UFC and SRS)..... B2/B5 I use for Channel Up/Down and the two rotary Axis you can use for your UFC volume, Freq select is not an axis, but B1/B3 could be used for that. I have mine mounted to the top of the Monstertech table mount holding my throttle. Your eject and jettison stores/tanks are top left, easily programed with a tempo long/short commands. This takes a lot of commands off of my HOTAS that I can use for something else. It's cheap compared to VKB/Virpil or any of the others, and the staff are great at getting you answers to questions you may have. They are in Germany. Cheers Hoss

When I looked at the screen shots of the set up I realized I'm in the same boat as Kirk66, my throttle is on a Monstertech Table mount. I guess I could shim (Thin washers) the mounting screws for the throttle and mounting plate enough to lift it up and slide in your part. Thanks for the file, I need to call my buddy with the 3D printer and see if he can make it for me or upload it to Shapeways or similar 3D printing site.
