  1. pffft :P No :smartass:
  2. Sorry but I still can't replicate on my end... I turned on fog and overcast... flew around shooting guns, externals and in cockpit and I didn't get the gun smoke to show with this black texture bug. EDIT: I finally got it to show... looks like it is fog related, but also doesn't show all the time, when I am in cockpit and bank a bit it shows black smoke (pretty frequently) but flying level it doesn't :) I'll re-check in tester version also, if I can't replicate there as well. EDIT2: I can't replicate this in latest tester version so I can't report this (as its already fixed in newer versions and will eventually get into public release, I assume that would be in 2.0.0 / EDGE but don't take my word for it as this is just my assumption), but I did find that there is another bug with smoke effect, smoke being visible in cockpit (which is now reported)
  3. Thanks gavagai... I'll check again with ground fog enabled
  4. I think also that Fulcrum is probably the most beautiful fighter aircraft... I wonder what happened with that MiG-29 3D model few guys from 59th were working on... it's been 4 years I think since they started on it (1st post in their thread) and it's been around 1 year since they stopped giving any updates... I am so hoping they are silently working on cockpit and PFM to bring us DCS MiG-29A Fulcrum... yes.. I am dreaming...
  5. Try flying MiG-29A with keyboard and you will see what he means. In short, if you bank and press on key to increase pitch, the aircraft will maintain that pitch when key is released (the longer you press the more Y-axis (which is pitch) deflection is added (until it's in full position). Now with F-15C (and I tested in tester version with Su-27) you can't maintain pitch with keyboard like this (or roll also) because when key is no longer pressed the stick (axis) goes back to original position... actually there is some very little movement you can have (my rough guess is maybe 5% of axis travel stays but anything more and it goes back). So you end up with either having to tap the key to keep pitch somewhere in between min and max deflection, which also makes the pitch oscilate... or keep max deflection (by holding the key down) under which condition you will stall very quickly. So, I agree that its remarkable that some has been flying FC3 with keyboard for so many years like him, he does have a valid complaint and this is a bug, which is why I reported it in ED bug tracker... and I am sure ED will fix it (how long can't say, but it should still be fixed when they have/get time for it).
  6. This issue has now been reported (bug #27443)
  7. LOL! You are asking ED to allow you to play DCS using keyboard while you are in office (aka at work) where you should be ermmmm working? ;)
  8. Someone wants to hack their website... what reason could there be? It doesn't matter the reason, bottom line is they need to prevent it, so they have more headache then they need (enough headaches with modeling the thing, setting up website, juggling all other things at the same time, and now they also get hacking problems on top of that... they have a lot on their plate... like any other developer)
  9. Mate you got your answer.. they are busy as you can see... no need for more irrelevant questions, just let them work, will ya'
  10. :megalol: I love it!
  11. This one is very funny... Love the "scientist's" comments :D
  12. Yes, that's pretty much it. Only thing that will make that light eventually stop being visible is distortion due to air particles, or other bright objects (or light reflections) that overwhelm the smaller lights. The NAV lights have exact same issue as with sunglare, they are just textures that reduce in size as they get further away, and withing 2-3Km they just "fade"out into surrounding terrain textures.
  13. I will say my opinion once more: - Smart scaling is not the answer, with one objects increased in size and other not (rest of the world) the speed of increased size object is off (it looks slower that it is) - People playing on monitor do not use true FoV... for example... you sit in a seat certain distance from the monitor, and the angle measured that monitor FoV takes is smaller than what most people use in game (true FoV your eye sees might be around 30° but in game you use FoV of around 80-90°) This works alright for objects that are in game close to your virtual eye... but further away they are their relative size (compared to what your eye would see in real world) is reduced. If you want to test, set in game 30° FoV and see how far you can make out a plane. - last issue is lighting (in game technique used for this is specular I believe - correct me if I'm wrong). Close LOD's of aircraft have it done well (newer models at least) but LOD's further away lose this effect. I have shown to ED 2 images of some very large mirrors high up in mountain, and image has them reflecting sunlight. One image is from close up to the mirrors, second is of from far away. Both images show the reflected bright light spot same size in both instances, yet the mirrors are "smaller" from far out (object up close takes more of your eye FoV). This is the most important thing we need in game... which is missing.
  14. erm, posibly game doesn't like screen ratio less than 1, maybe that's your issue.
  15. How the **** can you play this, and for so long, with keyboard?! wow...
  16. That's some good info there (couldn't read it all) :)
  17. you can't get exact time/date
  18. ^^^ Exactly... no matter which way you chose there is some tradeoff
  19. Guys... relax... I also really hate to, what appears to be, endlessly waiting for things... but please try to understand also that the developer wants it released also, he does not get paid until they starts selling, and selling means releasing. Also, setting target is not the same as giving release date. Setting target is a goal they want to achieve, but this is not always achievable, hence their targets are not set, this is nothing unusual. Another things complicates 3rd party releases is they kind of depend on ED for some thing, one of them being, they will sell the MIG-21 module primarily on ED website (which I think is a good thing - everything is in one place - ED website is a one-stop-shop) So just cut them some slack, I am sure if you were in their shoes you would be feeling the heat you are directing towards them, and I am sure you wouldn't like it. I think if I was a developer, I would not be making any claims, setting no targets, and instead just announce when things are already final.
  20. Its a "No" from me...
  21. I think drinking detergent has the same effect, so if one doesn't have cool-aid, it surely will be able to use some detergent :D
  22. People can't remember what they haven't lived through... none of the generations that lived through war know what it's like to be in one and have family members (or whole families) die in it. This is why there will always be wars... as sad as it is, it's true... peple are too easy to start a war, all it takes is few nut jobs (a**h***s) that expect some benefit/profit from it... with political "skill" to stir up the population... and off we go again...
  23. It can work with monitors connected to different video card, but I would make sure you connect main monitor (one showing DCS) to main video card, and second to second... use extended desktop (and set main monitor as left one) and disable full screen... you should be good to go. Actually you should probably also set your multimonitor lua file to match your custom setup.
  24. one of the first rules for multi-monitors: make your DCS monitor as primary and most top/left monitor in windows desktop setup
