1. They've been posting updates since 2010 mate.
2. I hope it's not the Super Hornet. To be very honest, I hope that ED finally came to senses and decided to grab the F-15E out of Razbam's hands and that is the plane they're going to announce. Razbam already proved after more than 10 years of disappointments that they can't deliver it.

F-15E?

Yeah, again on hold, well, small things won't get it out the door. it's only 10 years delayed now. It's ok. Razbam being razbam.

F-15E?

Where did you read it is again back on hold?
5. I don't disagree, but if you compare the cockpits from the A and D versions of the Apache, the A, being a lot more analog, is more to a Tomcat interaction between pilot and co-pilot, where some functions can only be done by one or the other; while the D version is more to a F-15E, with shared digital systems accessed by MFDs and/or dedicated instrumentation, meaning that any specialization pilot/co-pilot gunner is more than anything an improved conviviality and redundancy than a necessity: both can do basically everything albeit some things better than the other one.
6. AFAIK, this cockpit is from the prototype only. The production model had MFDs, initially green and white displays then replaced with LCDs.
7. Not only 4k, but at 32bits on top of that.
8. The Quest 2 has better resolution, which means exponentially more pixels to draw. Our 1070 Ti is not able to handle it unfortunately. It already struggles with a low end CV1, and I'm not even talking about DCS yet. In DCS, CV1 + 1070ti you can get 45fps stable flying alone with virtually everything on low in the Syria map.
9. It doesn't sound too good to be true really. Back in 2015, it used to cost about that with the promise and premise that in time, the price would eventually go down. 5 years later, people are paying twice as much thinking it's just "normal". The technology already evolved, there is a healthy supply of the required high frequency screens but they keep charging higher and higher prices. $450 is already on the high end of the price spectrum of what "they said it was going to be today".
10. Wouldn't it be better to have the Latest Activity displayed as Threads instead of Posts?
11. This means that they would have to re-write the game requirements page and make minimum GPU, a RTX. Even a 1080 ti would become unsupported at this point. Honestly, although I'd love to see this kind of technological improvements in this game, I don't see this happening anytime in the next 3 years. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/ Minimum system requirements (LOW graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Intel Core i3 at 2.8 GHz or AMD FX; RAM: 8 GB (16 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 60 GB; Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD R9 280X or better; requires internet activation.
12. In my system this makes a huge difference between a stuttering slide show when TGP is up and a reasonable smooth system. What I see no difference is in the quality of feed displayed in the MFDs, in particular the TGP when running at 256 or higher, so I just keep it at minimum for best performance.
13. As you already noticed, the higher the resolution, the higher the amount of pixels that needs to be rendered and therefore, the higher the need for better GPU and the less CPUs tend to stand out. People like to think that "bottleneck" is something fixed, set in stone and always bring up synthetic benchmarks to prove their points. It's not. The one thing to consider about DCS, is that its an old obsolete engine and doesn't make full use of today's CPU capacity and features, therefore given the situation, the bottleneck can easily and very quickly shift back to the CPU, even at higher res. In particular, the biggest culprit is the AI. Scenarios with heavy enough AI will bring even next-gen CPUs+GPUs to their knees. You should make the test yourself. Create a scenario with no AI, test it and adjust the graphics quality until you reached your system's optimum quality vs performance, then progressively add in more and more AI, ground units, moving ground units, structures and effects while measuring the performance hit and making graphic settings compromises. Then its up to you to decide if you need a better system. But have in mind that until DCS remain a single core engine there are no CPUs+GPUs today that will free you from compromises, so perhaps you should think in terms of adjusting your expectations according to the size of your pocket. My opinion is that you don't need a new system and you can always try it with a new GPU first.
14. Oh, so you didn't even receive it yet. Out of curiosity, how long have you been waiting?
15. I'm in Europe now, but also work in the UK for a few months every year. I still buy from the UK for most of the time even with shipping included, it's cheaper than buying directly from here. I understand you got emotional about that. You're lucky to pay only £1500. But you're missing the point entirely. You want to buy it today, how much are you going to pay? £1500? Not in this continent. You won't find for less than £2000, which you called and laughed as an exaggeration.
16. And by the way, just saw the picture you posted. It says: Pre-order.
17. Did you win the 3090 bingo? From day 1, I never saw it in stock for that price.
