  1. The TGP can fire a non-visible laser or an infrared beam, or both. You can switch which is being fired from the TGP screen on the MFD's, and I believe there is a HOTAS command for it as well.
  2. If you're using NVG's, you can paint them with the IR laser of the TGP to give you a point to focus on. It's been ages since I have done it, but I think I turned off the laser just before shooting so it would not mask the target. Mud

    TACAN F-15E to F-15E

    Correct
  4. I'm able to pick up columns of static vehicles at least with the Mudhen's radar, which I have trouble doing with the F-16 or F/A-18's radar. Handy for those cloudy days! Mud
  5. You can easily hop between stable and open beta with SkateZilla's updater utility. I assume it's only for the non-Steam users though. No need to do massive changes, downloads or backups. Though I strongly suggest to always have a backup of your control settings, logbook and missions of course. Br, Mud
  6. Original Post. So the first post in the thread. Br, Mud
  7. Hey folks, I was wondering what the SOP is during take-off regarding this. Landing lights or taxi lights? Did some searching on the subject, but could not find an answer. Br, Mud
  8. I had a problem where I could not spawn on the deck with the deck already filled since a couple of updates ago. My solution was to spawn the aircraft from Redkite's script 1-5 seconds after I have spawned in myself. That works, and no collisions or other issues occur like that. Br, Mud
  9. Bind that action to a keyboard button or combination you will not be using or are unlikely to press, then the issue with just pressing NUM 5 will be resolved. You can of course still keep and use your HOTAS assignment.
  10. I guess a bit of patience and understanding is no longer a virtue.
  11. Hey folks, No matter what power setting / rpm I fly at, I have to apply a small amount of right rudder to keep the ball centered. This in turn forces me to apply some left stick input to counter roll induced by the rudder input. Making it pretty hard to fly a nice straight line. Are you all experiencing this? I have the same with the K4, but there you can adjust the trim tabs in the settings to get it more hands-off at a given power setting. Br, Mud
  12. +1 Not giving up hope yet for a Razorback Thunderbolt!
  13. Just throwing in two ideas here: - Is Windows Game Mode disabled? I know in some cases it does more bad than good. I have mine off. - In Control Panel > Power Options: make sure it's not running some power saving plan. Good luck on sorting it! Mud
  14. While I think it might be possible to setup 2 profiles in OVGME to do that, I just use it for mods which go into the main installation folder of DCS. All mods that go into the Saved Games folder don't really conflict with the DCS installer anyway. So I manage the Saves Games folder manually.
  15. There are some sites/shops which offer different springs for it. I myself use a 13cm extension with the stock spring, which also works just fine for me. Br, Mud
  16. My first impression is that the impact on FPS from the clouds is less than it used to be, but something else is more taxing, especially when on the ground.
  17. Did a quick test and two things which stood out: - Rain on the canopy in VR - New FPS counter
  18. So much entitlement and should have, could have, would have here. Thankfully, the majority of people who are silent, have understanding and patience enough not to act like a bunch of toddlers.
  19. Any news on the heading hold AP?
  20. I went from 516.40 to 522.25 and I notice a slight increase in performance actually. But it can be so hard to nail it down since there are so many variables in hardware, settings, .... Br, Mud
  21. Well, PFTE is known to most people as Teflon, so it has very low friction. I did put some lube on mine last time I opened my stick, but like I said: I saw no wear. I remember seeing a post once by the person whom I think came up with the idea, where after testing, he noticed that if there is any wear at all it is the PFTE itself, and not the plastic ball of the Warthog. I think a lot of people are using them, and I have no seen any issues reported by using it.
  22. It's pretty stiff indeed. Like "slippery" plastic
  23. The PTFE ring works perfectly, and I have not noticed any wear or damage on my gimbal in about 8-9 years and +1500 flight hours.
  24. No performance drop here either as far as I noticed, coming from 516.40. 60fps @ 200% res in the Valve Index on the Nevada map (cold F-14). That is without clouds though. As soon as I enable those, I drop to 40fps unfortunately.
  25. I just installed the driver to check if I could replicate on my end. No crash in VR and 2D. Loaded up a mission in NTTR and got into the F-14A. Windows 10 with the Nvidia 522.25 driver (no HD Audio driver installed). Latest DCS open beta. See sig for my specs. Br, Mud
