Happy to take the early access, I’ll get an early start...

After flying the Hog more I have to eat my words and agree nothings changed. I was wrong. I had been away from it and at first seemed excessive. Then it came back to me and I found the way I used to fly her.

DCS: F/A-18C Hornet – Cinematic Gameplay Video 1

Like it, ready for the next one! -
Well...im getting old. Thats what happened when I hit 66 last week. Oldness. Since none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow, impatience tends to grow even though there is nothing we can do about it. Have been excited for all the good stuff to come for awhile. All the new features including the modules is a bit overwhelming. It will certainly be awesome... one day “soon”. Clouds do look “Great” compared to what they were and its still WIP.
-
Best thing for me in the video was the explosions. Sure it is all “WIP” Just like my life has always been a WIP. I just hope it lasts long enough to see this all come to fuition.

Recently bought a 1080ti and the Rift and have zero regrets. I am enjoying both in and out of DCS. Some of us just can’t wait for things that are “just around the corner” for various reasons. Really, it comes down to what you want, when you want it. There are those with the cup half empty in VR threads lately. If you want to experience VR, there is no reason to gnash teeth over their opinions. If you can acquire it and want it. Go enjoy it for what it is. I don't even know if VR will be “ready for “Prime Time” (what ever that is) before I die. I am too old to wait for “perfection”.

Seems it is more difficult to find the sweetspot. Ofcourse after unloading any ordinance etc will require adjustment. But it does seem its really difficult to tune it in as in the past.

You are not alone...Not sure why its been changed over time, but I agree the trim has changed. Why? Who knows. Its not our hardware.
-
If so, you can crank it up and show everyone your new toy. Then they can all get a good laugh while you crash and burn!

“Aerobatics to Self destroy” and everything in between. Like shoot lots of missles...

GTX 1070 prices through the roof!

Recently sold my R9 295X2 in less than 4 hours on eBay. Miners love that card for whatever reason. I was surprised at how fast it went. Turned around and bought an evga 1080 TI next day which was delivered in 3 days. -
Looking good...

Thanks! Good of you to share

Yes. Devs and testers sharing settings would generous indeed! Along with the system specs of course.

Our pilot animations would have to be changed 1st of all. Pilot character movement is painfully s-l-o-w and woefully basic. Cool idea, but do we really have to go as far as including the crew chief? Little off topic...but before this, I would just like to see a pilot that did not sink and die when ejecting over water. Rather, he has a life raft and can be picked up by a rescue chopper. If we cant even get that done, there is little hope we will ever see “walk-around” capability.

Most Excellent and well deserved! Looking forward to the F18 teaser...:thumbup:

ROTFLAMO!!! I think we get where you are coming from now... Case closed.

Funny, in the rift I can lean forward or zoom and read the gauges just fine. Why cant you? Maybe its my system. Even on the flat screen I do the same with TIR because my eye sight isnt what it used to be. Seems there are differences in what we use this software for. There are games and there are simulations. For me this is not one of those silly games. I use DCS as a simulation. Over my 20+ years of Flight Sims, This is by far the the most immersive. Sure you can become immersed in DCS for various reasons but VR adds another level. BTW. You dont have to tell me about the KA50, I am quite proficient with it and have flown it to the point of exhaustion. Yes quite immersive and even more so in the rift. While some always have a glass half empty...others keep a glass half full. Therein lies the difference. So we that enjoy VR accept and enjoy it for what is at this point. Its a choice... no need to beat the horse to death if you disagree.
-
I like the fan idea. I will have to employ that add on. Yep... I find myself reaching for many more things in the cockpit. Happens a lot. In other scenarios, I keep trying to lay my controllers on virtual tables.

Crap is getting deep in here. Where are my Virtual Waders... I run a 65” 4k which is stunning. But I prefer the rift for flying. You nay sayers can say what you want...those that enjoy flying in VR have their reasons of why they do. Repeating the difference over and over is not going to change anyones mind. No matter the state of the tech or the support of the sim its just the difference of feeling it and not. When was the last time on a flat screen did you reach out to rest your hand on the canopy frame? I’ll hazard a guess at Never!

Looks great... looking forward to the upgraded map...no matter all the good things in the works, people just keep asking for more. Will be great just to get the many things That are already in progress. That would be most satisfying indeed.

Nice Job there.:thumbup: Some of the Jets are dangerously low...

Sure, through in that Ram and you should be good to go for now.
-
You meet the minimum specs with 8GB Ram. You can run it but Recommend you add another 8GB of Ram. You will have a better experience. So try it as you are and see how it goes. I run that same processor at 4.6 with a Noctua air cooler. So kick it up if you can. You are in good shape for NTTR otherwise. Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i3; RAM: 8 GB; Free hard disk space: 30 GB; Discrete video card: 2 GB RAM (AMD, NVIDIA); requires internet activation. Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 16GB; Hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 / ATI R9 290 DirectX11 or better

The Carrier was used at E3 and had a functional arresting wire. Dont know if the catapult was functional. It certainly is not unusual for ED to put out a module that is not feature complete. Rather, it has become the norm. Then adding and improving as we go.
