  1. He guys, how's training coming along? If you're interested, maybe we can train together sometimes, the 132nd holds regular training events on wednesday and sunday. Vriendelijke groeten, LooneyT
  2. Did you bind the helicopter to the ship unit in the ME?
  3. A simple google search on the titles and the first hit is your PDF, for public release. Thanks for the titles, it saves some work
  4. I was too far away and on the ground I didn't get a signal. It works now, thanks.
  5. Can confirm, tried setting up ARK-UD beacon 1 at 114.166 and couldn't get it to work in MP. Haven't tried SP though.
  6. BTW Admiral, which license do you choose on CGtrader? Royalty free or Editiorial?
  7. Admiral stated before that the ply count is quite large, leading to a larger file size and hence the lag. He's reducing the poly-count and file size so that hopefully should clear up lag.
  8. Did a few tests with 23 knots headwind and the Gazelle will take off without pedal/cyclic input. Anything less than 23 knots will result in needing to input rudder in order to keep it straight. 23 knots seems to be a threshold of some sorts.
  9. Thanks Admiral, I'm not trying to steal your thunder, just want some more info before dipping a toe in the mod making business :). Going to use your ships in a large scale exercise campaign I'm making for the wing, thanks for all the hard work!
  10. How many polygons are acceptable for DCS? I see models going from 65K to 400k+ but I have no idea of how many polygons are "normal"...
  11. Where do you get your initial models from Admiral? I'm wondering if there are any RNLN ships I can buy to work with.
  12. Here we go again, this thread is about something completely different. The mods already shut down one thread.. Put the guys on your ignore list if you want but don't feed them, it'll only get worse.
  13. A question, do you make the mods from the ground up by yourself? Do you start with a rectangular box and shape it into a ship?
  14. Day 1 buy for me, regardless of other people's opinion, I have my own and I will stick to it. If you can do better, get behind a screen and start programming and let me see the results of your endeavors. Did you fly the real thing in RL? Good for you, I didn't and with that in mind, I will fly the simulator in a way I see fit and not what other people think it should be like. In my little spare time I try to enjoy what I'm doing rather than being sour and bitter about the things you have no control over in the first place. Don't bother replying, my ignore list is getting quite long and as a result, the forums have become much more enjoyable for me.
  15. Welcome on board! What is the preferred way of contacting you?
  16. I removed the springs and detent from my Saitek rudders, works wonders in helicopters!
  17. Great stuff and thank you for your work! Looking forward to seeing more ship types in DCS.
  18. You can use scripting to get randomized starting locations as well as a host of other actions. Try MOOSE for example. It's a bit of work to get into but once you get the idea, you can really work wonders with missions and campaigns. https://flightcontrol-master.github.io/MOOSE_DOCS/
  19. Thanks for the ships, I'm using them in a training mission I'm currently making. If possible, a replenishment ship, big oiler or the likes, would be most wanted on my list.
  20. There are reasons an ignore list exists on this forum...
  21. Thank you for this information. Good luck with the rewrite of the code and looking forward to future updates!
  22. The SLAM has a slightly bigger diameter than a Harpoon so the RCS would be comparable if not a little bit larger. The HARM is a bit smaller so its RCS would be a bit smaller. The NATO doctrine against ASMs is one of early detection and corrolation (emitter vs. launching platform), like in the Falklands where a Cyrano radar from a Super Etendard would be corrolated with the Exocet missile. Once corrolated, measures are taken to detect or predict a launch and take appropiate actions such as manouvrer to intercept or decrease radar signature, Chaff (SRBOC), jamming/deception or hard-kill. I guess we'll need to change those RCS values and see what happens...
  23. The whole layered umbrella defense doctrine is missing from the ships. A ship, any warship, is a formidable opponent against any aircraft. Take the OHP for example, it'll engage from 40Nm out with its SM-1 or SM-2, depending on missile type and detection ofcourse. If that fails, it will follow up with the 76mm gun system, failing that, CIWS as a last resort. Other ships may have the Nato Seasparrow in between the SM-1 or 2 and the cannon / gun. Regardless, you don't just fire one SSM at a ship and expect it to hit, that's unlikely to happen. You'll need to saturate its defenses in order to score hits. I would fully expect a ship, either integrated into a sensor datalink network, such as Link-11/14/16 as any Allied warship would be, or use its own sensors, to detect and intercept any SSM fired at it with all the weapon systems it has available and not wait for the SSM to come into CIWS range and just spray and pray.
