This , while I have figured out, kind of, the weapons I mostly just take off, fly around, and land on something I find challegeing.....over and over and over again. I don't know why but like you said it is rewarding when you can do it right and your first landing on the deck of a ship is both scary and exhilarting. Some day I may start blowing sh%t up again but right now it take off and land time! Welcome to DCS! What took you so long?

The Apache isn't on sale, that is its early access price, and I believe it will be that price until it hits the stable version of DCS.

w.i.p Flight Model (FM) since [21.09.2022] DCS 2.7.18.30348 Open Beta

Nope -
It searches the one you are in. I do wish ED would group common controls across ll modules. My biggest problem is many times I don't know the name of what I', looking for. For example I was looking for the "laser" key but guess what? Its not labelled as "laser" Its some freaking acronym for the Left Hand grip. Spent 3 days looking for that one lol

So you've heard of EA. good! Now do you understand what it means? It means you have two choices, either buy EA or Don't, its up to you. But if you buy EA you don't get to bitch about it not being done, until ED says its done, then bitch away. Nuff said

I don't think Rocks can hover at all. and the FM is a WIP. When it is 10 years old it will be were the Ka is today. Just needs more time in the oven. They call it Early Access, perhaps you've heard of it?

Are we ever getting default key binds for the HOCAS and TEDAC?
pii replied to Gemt's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I probably wouldn't use their binds, I like to make my own so i can remember them and not have to learn someone else Binds. -
Apache controls settings opinions and input please

Never said you stared at it. I'm wondering why you need to look at it when landing though? I look at the FPV that I place on the landing site, I have no reason to look at that indicator to land, I'm far more concerned with decent rate and air speed. My point is that you will get better if you stop looking at symbology and indicators and look out the window. And it is excatly like driving a car. Do you watch the wheel when driving, I'm going to guess you don't, like everyone else? Well you don't need to watch that indicator to land either. Since you don't seem receptive to my post I bid you farwell and happy flying. -
I changed from a Warthog HOTAS to a virpil base, so virpil base and WH stick and it made ALLLLLLLLLL the difference. I went from a flying rock to a killer pilot (in my head) but seriously it was and is a night and day difference.

What makes the Apache the most difficult helicopter module to fly?
pii replied to Schmidtfire's topic in DCS: AH-64D
This! I've often thought landing this thing might be easier if I could feel the decent speed, slowing, etc. I have to look at controls that you could basically "feel" in RL. For example when landing I have to make sure I do not enter VRS and I have to constantly watch the synboligy and can't fly it "by the seat of my pants" or I can easily crash -

Quit looking at the control indicator and look out the window and fly it. I only look at it when I am about to take off, set it to take off and away I go, after that its eyeballs off for the most part. Can't you drive unless you are staring at the cars steering wheel? Its the same with that indicator, you don't need to stare at it to fly . It also sounds like you may be trimmimg way too often when landing. But that a different subject. -

I don't think its that big of deal, I don't even look at it once I've taken off, why would I need to? -
need track replay AI make heli keeping rotation
pii replied to _UnknownCheater_'s topic in Bugs and Problems
That makes some sense but I wonder if he had the CP'G set to control by pressing the "C" key. If he did that he would spin but it wouldn't be because of the AI. -

Well that's good since it isn't final yet. So just start over or wait until it is final (in two years) <-I made that up, might only be a year This is what Early Access means, Its not done, or even close, and will change manytimes before it is in the Stable Release section of DCS Happy Hovering -

And that is probably your problem. I had to buy a new stick to get this thing to fly right, now its (kind of) a Piece of cake to fly. I couldn't imigine even trying with out at least some cheap rudder pedals. It's a WIP and will probably change many times in the coming weeks before they are done. -

Use your pedals, That is completely normal if you don't counter with your pedals. Has zero to do with alt or AI -

What makes the Apache the most difficult helicopter module to fly?
pii replied to Schmidtfire's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Blasphemy! -
It'll be back in short order.

I'd say relax your worries they will be working on this Module for years to come. I'm sure some of that time will be spent on the FM.

Probably due to it lack a FM and systems simulated. -

The first week I had this thing I said I was jealous of his rock steady hover, while actual people were flopping all over the sky. -

What hotas and stick do you have? I had a warthog stick and throttle and couldn't fly worth a damn, until I removed all the springs and finally buying a Virpil base and sticking the WH stick on that base. Both worked extermly well. Now I can fly like the wind lol seriousy though it makes a BIG differene if you have a warthog it's litterally night and day. Before I could barely land or hover and now I can land on ships, helo pad, rocks , anywhere, etc. I'm actually loving the 64 now. I've gone from WTF! is happening to WOW! Good luck and happy flying
