hmmmm perhapes you were not going fast enough because those bugs are still in the Sim. Matter fact the ATT hold dosen't hold you steady any longer (it will drift all over) and hold is aways going off and on and will drive you crazy with the long beeps. I don't even use them any longer to maintain my sanity. I used to be able to turn it on at <6 km and it would pull me into a hover but not anylonger it'll be back sooner or later. so in conclusion IMO they got worse after the last patch.

yeah since the last patch the SAS SATURATION goes off a lot more than before the patch. Give it time they will fix it sooner or later. I have a strange bug on my system where if my USB headphones are plugged in (not being used but plugged in) those little SAS sound disappear! lol yeah since the last patch the SAS SATURATION goes off a lot more than before the patch. Change it to a chicken clucking sound, it works much better that way.

Virpil Opening Store and Distribution Center in the U.S.A.- It is Open!!
pii replied to dburne's topic in VIRPIL Controls
I was expecting a delay from all the chatter on the Internets but like I said the entire process from ordering to having it at my door was only 5 days . Maybe I was lucky but I'm not complaining. -
Yep and it seems to be going off a lot more since the last patch. It also flicks on and off over and over, good news is the ALT mode is working now. But ATT hold is doing a lot of peeping
-
Well maybe not but your first part sure sounded like a newbie having control problems during a landing. guess not.

Me too! It's about 50 miles though. Ordered a virpilWRB and it only took 5 days and 2 of those were the weekend. I also live so close the shipping was overnight, it wasn't marked as overnight its just not that far. It came with a note telling me to drop by the showroom .....MUST STAY AWAY for the sake of my wallet. lol -
looks like I need to learn how to spell happy ")

losing 10 years is not fun! lucky my newer settings are slim and I use the mouse and push buttons so those are fairly simple to redo. Don't fly most of the others now sooooo..... I believ I have a bcakup for all the others its just the AH64 and it Depends if I can find that backup lol There is already a new one?! AHHHHHHHHHHHH No I got the WRB I was on a budget and a whim and just picked up a base to stick my WH on. I'll go check it out though and maybe start saving Hsppy flying

Just trying to help. And yes I did get it, only took like 5 days. I have been trying all the CAM and springs combinations. Only draw back was I lost all my settings in the controls due to firmware upgrade and my backup didn't work (BUMMER) so been busy redoing at least the 64's settings . No time for reviews but it works extremly well is smooth as silk and precise as can be. I can recommend it to anyone looking for a new stick base. Losing setting of 10+ years for all my DCS aircraft is really heartbreaking

correct as is Can we completely DISABLE pedal trim function?
pii replied to Razor18's topic in Bugs and Problems
What pedals do you use? If you have TM pedals remove the centering spring, it is super easy and it will make a world of difference. -
Turn your pedels over and you will see a little door (looks like a 9v battery opening) , open it and you will see a spring that is used to center the pedels REMOVE IT! It will make a TON of difference for the ah64d. Also the Warthog is hard for landings due to its strong spring, remove it or get a "green" spring which is far less stiff. Both of these will really really make a difference. ORRR do as I did and buy a virpil , but it looks like you already invested a lot. Trust me on this I had both your pedels and the wart hog and struggled for months trying to hover and land, now its easy (kind of) If you do this don't forget to change the term settings. Happy flying

Whatever you do don't try to land on a helo pad. It looks like you are new to this landing" thing. I also get what is happening to you but not as much once I learned more about landing and flying the apache. Also it is hard to tell when you are about to get into that state since we as virtual pilots can't feel the aircraft, like if you were in it. So you have to watch the numbers to stay out of VRS or react the second it starts to shake. Also make sure you have good controller, I had to invest in a virpil base to get the control I needed to land. What do you use for a stick? I had a warthog and TM pedels and I had to remove the springs from Both and it made a WORLD of difference, and made me decide to get a newer base for the warthog stick So practice paractice practice and make sure you have good controls. I'm not just saying it , I have litterally done nothing but landings since day one. Getting pretting good at them if I say so myself even with the VRS thing. PS and don't forget its BETA and a work in progress. Happy flying! Now I want to know what is all the new beeping from the ATT hold?
-
Well, got new Virpil, now I get to spend 6 months rebinding all my controls @#$%#$#$%#E$%#Q%Q#$T!!!
-
They shipped today. Wahoo!
-
I don't think you read the replies correctly
-
This is the fix for the TM pedals , REMOVE THE CENTERING SPRING of the peddles. It's easy and makes a tremendous difference. If you have a warthog stick you may want to take the spring out of that also. I would suggest a "green" Spring though its needs some sort of centering IMO. Hopefully this advice isn't too late.
-
Well, If I have too I'll drive the 50 miles and sit on their doorstep until I get one!
-
Well it seems DCS has done it again and made me spend money on new stuff. So I now have, or will soon, a Virpil Warbird base incoming! Actually I just happened to see and ad that Virpil had a new USA Store/Warehouse, while looking for o-rings and springs, that is only about 50 miles from me and I took that as a sign from above. Thats what I'm going to tell the wifey anyways..... So it looks like the warthog base will be retiring soon no O-rings or springs needed. The warbird base sounds just like what I needed, just a little more costly Oh well! lol Take care.
-
I live in USA Florida BuddyFox, I'll have check them put for an o-ring the only other place I found was the same place that makes the green spring. Yeah I just laid my O-ring on top and it is held in place by just pressure, maybe, or it may already be flopping around in there So I guess this MOD is a WIP. Much like the AH-64 is.
-
They say the green spring should be used without an extension as it significantly lighter than the standard. So if that works then I do not need to invest in any extention, saving $$. I think it's a little too loose right now but its still better than before by a mile. Didn't do any other MOD I was just doing it quickly to see how it would be. However the O-ring came out and expanded and now will not go back in, so I will have to do the other MOD at some point when I get a replacment O-Ring. Send me that Green spring I'll try it out for you

Sounds like you need to anticipate what is about to happen.

What is the maximum altitude of the radar altitude hold mode?
pii replied to gzj3401's topic in DCS: AH-64D
yeah what happened to the little indicator, since the last patch, for alt hold mode, it seems to be gone -
Maybe we realize its a Beta and will only get better. The Shark was like the 64 at one time.
