  1. I meant VR headsets." "lol duh! No, with pointctl you can access the switches I need the keyboard for. You can do it with DCS controllers but they have issues for me , like the arm of my chair prevents me from getting to some switches. Not sure how it would work in that case. More research required!
  2. I don't like headsets but a simply mic may do. maybe I'll revisit it soon. It's basically turns your finger into a mouse pointer so you can more easily access the switched in the cockpit (I think)
  3. That was my original plan but sinse removing the spring I can't say I need one now. Without the spring it is very easy to move. Matter of fat a little Too easy. I'm now thinking of a "green spring" which is a lighter spring to give back at least a little centering ability. But for now it is super smooth and I can fly it like an ACE (ok maybe not that good ) I can litterely make micro movements now and that makes a big difference.
  4. I also started in the 80's and compared to those sims DCS is the dream and I am constantly amazed at how far we have come in personal computing and flight sims. DCS is simply Amazing stuff!
  5. looks very interesting may try it someday . I always thought just having a pop up keyboard in VR would also be a help. Thanks for the heads up on what looks like a cool product for DCS. Does it work for other apps?
  6. I have tried but I also do not like wearing a headset of I don't have to. I think I will try to find a light/small mic only and give it another try, it does seem like it could be useful.
  7. Part Duo: I have now taken the spring out of my Thrustmaster warthog stick...................... I must return to Chopper Nirvana now. I am litterally blown away by the difference these two mods have made in flying the Apache.
  8. I switch between the two all the time but for a serious flight its 2d for me. I just need the keyboard for all the switches its just too hard in VR IMO now for just tooling around I like VR but can't stay in it for too long so.....back to 2d

    CPG

Is the CPG flight control stick up in the front seat? I've had this same issue and for some reason when I go to front seat, now, the controls are for the CPG but they need to be down so the pilot can fly the bird. So if the stick is up in the front seat hit "C" and then see how it works.
  10. I simply took the spring out my TM rudder pedals after seeing a random post and the difference is night and day, it's simply amazing to fly now, it's like I went from noob to ace overnight. If you still have the spring in your TM pedals it is super easy to unhook it. On the bottom of the pedals is a little door that looks like a 9v battery cover, take that off and there is nothing in there but the spring, easy as pie and makes a world of difference!
  11. I will confirm that...night and day!
  12. I took your post and looked at my pedals and removed the spring and yes super easy. All I can say is WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I have so much more and precise/fine control than ever before. Highly recommended if you have these pedal... Thanks for the tip!
  13. Recently I've noticed the same and it turns out that when I switch to front seat the controls are up for the CPG to use. I have to hit "c" to retract them and then he will start doing what he is supposed to do. I guess the pilot is actually still flying and not the cpg
  14. It won't take that long. Took me about a week before I could hover it but I got there.....then they put out a patch and I had to start over again The overall flight stability seems to have gone down after the last few patches.
  15. It Robs you of bullet space for your gun. Without it you get a lot more than 300 rounds.
  16. that module is 10 years old, at least. I'm pretty sure they have stopped working on it. If its not flying correctly its you
  17. I have a 3 screen setup and would also love this.
  18. I have found that if you make the curves too much the 64 will fly very "sloppy" so don't over do them.
  19. lol I wonder what would happen if you could hook up the AH64 to the carrier catapult wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. Doesn't the back seat have a tinted front windshield? I know if I switch to Alt-F1 full screen view it is much brighter ?
  21. No problem there had just been an update and I was hoping it had been. I have since found out otherwise. Maybe next patch.
  22. I have same pedals and same problems and still do. I'm sure it's just the pedals and a lack of ah-64d knowledge. Those pedals are just hard to move small amounts with your feet and sometimes when I try they can suddenly slip and next thing I'm over correcting back and forth. However, You can still fly it and get fairly good at it with those pedal. When I first got It had the same feelings you have but they can be overcome with practice and knowledge. Some of your complaints seem to be lack of AH-64d Knowledge, no offence, and again I was exactly the same way. Watch some pilot videos and listen, there can be some real gems in them that will fix some of your questions and problems and help you tame the beast. And when I tell you I had same problems and feeling I mean it! I had to check who posted your post because I thought it was my post but didn't remember doing it. lol I can now hover without any auto pilot if need be, just do not get too close. I just love practicing landings and have gotten quite good at it if I say so myself. I now shoot tanks, trains, automobiles you know blowing up the town. :I can even fly the dreaded I beam onto a target. (if you don't know what the "I" beam is, you will)) Still have tons to learn, though. I may upgrade my pedals at some point but not for some time. Anyways Stick to it, it'll come to you. Good luck
  23. I've never actually watched them when I press trim for 3 seconds so I'll watch next time. I assume I need to let go once they are aligned?
  24. It doesn't matter it works fine on normal JS as well, it is what I use
  25. nope it will still matter a lot. There are no specific setting for all controllers you have to try them out and adjust the curves as necessary for each one to suit you.
