  1. I have the following faults constantly displayed on left MFD 1: ADV- BIT FPAS How can I clear them?
  2. G2 earphones stop working between 5 and 15 minutes into any DCS mission. When I exit DCS I see messages that "new audio device connected". so it appears the USB 3 device is auto-disconnecting just like the Windows Power Management problem. But I have checked all devices in Device Manager and ensured the Power Management is un-ticked. Any ideas? this issue does not occur with an non-VR audio headset.
  3. I tried the mod and appreciated the FOV increase; however comfort degradation quickly had me restoring the original face gasket.
  4. That's why the jet has 2 of 'em.
  5. Is there a way to equip the Player pilot with NVG or HMCS if the mission starts with Player in the air?? If not, there should be.
  6. The log error in line 14 means DCS can not identify the object bravo. Usually means the object does not exist. Perhaps some issue with ME group name, case, etc. Or . . Is it late activated? Spawned?
  7. No issues for me.
  8. Most likely moot since newer graphics cards can't be found anywhere and probably will not be normally available for months.
  9. Is it possible in the current state of the Hornet to select an ILS station in the cockpit by its frequency?
  10. I like it. Simple, flexible, convenient.
  11. And you will probably have several ancillary programs running in the background: Voice Attack ( or other voice program), WMR, SteamVR, Virtual Kneeboard, SRS (multiplayer). These programs are not required, per se, but materially enhance the DCS experience.
  12. Having followed all this testing, results appear to indicate that for now with current drivers and software, for DCS in VR, the RTX 3080 performs consistently better than 6800XT. Right?
  13. Obviously must be caused by a duplicate keybind or stuck key. I would start my trouble-shooting by changing the comm menu keybind and observe the result. Run DCS in window mode. Open a text editor. Change focus to the text editor and see if any uncommanded characters appear.
  14. Ahh, so, nothing really. Thanks for the info. Moving right along...
  15. This is all quite interesting information, BUT what are the practical applications of these new features in DCS game play??
  16. +1. Crosswinds are amazing, but pricey.
  17. My G2 headset turns itself off after a period of being idle and the only way I have found to get it working again is to cycle the power supply to the video cable. Fiddling with SteamVR will not work. Is there a better way?
  18. New G2 initial impressions upgrading from G1. I like everything about it: Improved cabling and comfort. Noticeably improved color rendering. Sweet spot improvement is frankly not that much. Res still the same great clarity as G1 and FOV no change. A prospective buyer must decide if cabling, comfort and better color are worth the price.
  19. You might have enough space on the C drive to copy an image of the DCS install. You can also temporarily free some space on the DCS drive by uninstalling a map or 2, then reinstall them after migrating to new SSD
  20. CPU upgrade is moot right now, as Ryzen Gen 4's (and RX6800 GPUs) are not available at any of the usual outlets.
  21. Ordered my G2 Sep 25. Delivery sked for Dec 21.
  22. Oh, yes. Very much so. Much "sharper" image. YMMV.
  23. Cougar throttles do not have detent plates. The detents function by means of 2 adjustable metal rings on the throttle handle's main rotating cylinder inside the throttle base, and detent function can be disabled simply by rotating the rings to a non-functioning position. Suggest you open the throttle base and determine whether you can get detent function by adjusting those detent rings.
  24. Are you familiar with VRK -- Virtual Reality Kneeboard? Not exactly what you are looking for, but VRK is an add-on mod, visible in the VR cockpit, that relies on a digital drawing pad to allow making written notes. Handy to record all that 9-line data. VRK also displays any other graphics on the cockpit kneeboard, like Airfield diagrams and mission plan.
