  1. Glad it worked [emoji106]. I've tinkered around with those settings and was pleasantly surprised with the results for my medium spec rig. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  2. Try turning vsync off within DCS, and use FAST vsync in the nvidia control panel. See if that makes much of a difference. Regards Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  3. Hi Von Thrud, Yes I got suspicious of this "network" involvement yesterday as per my post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3477896 However, I don't have the computer hardware and software smarts to investigate deeper. There does seem to be something interesting going on..... Regards, Dave Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  4. Hey Airbus, Yeah I hadn't looked at "Offline mode" yet. I found it interesting that DCS.exe would be looking for network I/O when not playing multiplayer. But as I said, I have no idea about this stuff and was hoping members may investigate to see if it is part of these freeze and micro stutter problems. Cheers! 5. Thanks Coffee, No, not looking for help or anything. I was just reporting something I noticed that could potentially be investigated by someone more "in the know" regarding these freezes and micro stutters problems. I think I'm lucky in the fact that it is extremely rare that I experience a freeze or stutter, so I chalk them up to being due to the current Beta state. Cheers! 6. Hey Folks, I have no idea about this stuff so hopefully the computer savvy members could look into this: Today playing deadlyfishes' latest Las Vegas Through the Inferno mission in F5e (single player offline), I had a freeze on latest 2.5.1 I started looking through the Task Manager (Win10 home 64bit) and noticed the GPU (gtx 1070 8gb with latest nvidia drivers) activity was virtually 0% (obviously just rendering the frozen screen) while the SSD I have DCS installed on was 0%. I looked further into the Wait Chain analysis for the application which said, "one or more threads of DCS.exe are waiting to finish network I/O". The DCS thread is 10768. My network perfomance shows virtually 0% with an occasional little blip of sent data (8Kbps). Does this mean anything to anyone? I am running an I5 6600K with all 4 threads usable by DCS, and the CPUs are all showing 35% to 45% utilisation. Cheers! Dave Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah I had that too. My file structure though shows; .../Saved games/DCS/.... No mention of ..../DCSopenbeta/.... This leads me to believe it is the release version. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  8. Interesting.... I updated from stable 1.5.8 to 2.5 OB using the updater command line update @openbeta about 6 weeks ago. All went well. The other day, I ran the command line update @release, nothing appeared to happen until the dialog box appeared saying I was already on the latest update version. My Saved Games directory has ..../DCS World/.... in it. Nothing about openbeta in the file structure. So maybe it did switch to release. I have not downloaded the release version from the website. Has anyone else noticed this? Cheers!! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  9. Many thanks Ciribob. Much clearer now. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  10. Yes, once you put a new server name and ip into the boxes, you have to press the Save button at the very bottom of the dialog box (it doesn't stand out). A new save file (.csv) is created in the install folder with a list of all of your favourites. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  11. Actually, partially scratch this. It seems exiting out of DCS then reloading and changing module seems to rectify this. When I loaded into the F5E, The UHF was Radio 1, with 2 Unknowns beneath and all PTTs worked for this radio so I can keep physical PTT continuity. However, staying in DCS and loading into a new module does seem to show persistence with different radio sets. Scratch this, I think I worked out the correct "SAVE" procedure :joystick: LOL!!! Cheers! Dave
  12. Hey Ciribob, I just have a couple of questions regarding setup and switching between different DCS Modules - A10C and F5E, running on DCS 2.5 OB latest. I installed the latest version 1.4.8.0 and set up "enable radio switch works as PTT". I have a HOTAS Warthog Throttle and stick so have set up my DCS bindings to work as is, so throttle thumb switch forward is VHF AM PTT, thumb switch down is UHF PTT, and thumb switch back is VHF FM PTT. Depressing the thumb switch is my TS3 PTT hotkey. In the SRS settings, the above bindings work out to be Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 3 respectfully, so all good. So when connected to a server, all PTTs work as expected on the respective radios for the A10C. Now, if I change module to the F5E, which only has 1 UHF radio, I think SRS defaults this to Radio 1. My DCS key binding for this module is still thumb switch down (being the UHF radio (SRS Radio 2 binding)) so I can try to keep physical radio button PTT continuity between modules. So now SRS only activates PTT (Radio 1) when I press thumb switch forward, which will not work on the UHF radio in the F5E. Also, the overlay showed three radios for the F5E, I have not added any radios or presets nor edited any files. Is there a way to line these bindings up so all modules with UHF will be the DCS key binding, rather than the SRS Radio # binding? Or do I just change my F5E DCS PTT binding to "thumb switch forward" as SRS Radio 1? The other issue I found was my favourites were not saved when I exited out of SRS then reloaded later. I added a server address and IP on the favourites page which was selectable on the main page to connect, exited out, shut down SRS on desktop, reloaded SRS via desktop shortcut, only to find the favourite had disappeared on the drop down list and only the default local server was selectable. SRS is pointed correctly to my "Saved Games" folder. I hope this all makes sense, sorry for the long winded explanation. Many thanks and kind regards, Dave
  13. Yes, I have one of these in my rig. I plugged it into the very bottom pcie slot (near the power supply), the plugs were long enough to reach the headers. I think mine was usb 2.0 as I plugged in my warthog throttle and stick and combat pedals. All works well, never had any usb issues. My mobo is Asus stryx z270f. Cheers! 14. Dammit, I had a feeling 120 fps for Nevada was just too good to be true LOL!!!! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  15. Just did a 20 minute flight in NTTR in F5E. All working ok. Mirrors selectable on/off. Breathing sound at high g all good. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  16. Brilliant!!! [emoji106] Many thanks rick Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  17. Ok thanks PB0_CEF, I'll try that. I did open the mission editor before flying to check the steerpoints and zoomed into Creech but didn't notice anything standing out. Having said that though I wasn't looking for target triangles. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  18. Hey Folks, I'm really enjoying this campaign on dcs 2.2.0. Great work MBot [emoji106] I have a quick question about Air Base targets. I have been assigned the strike mission at Creech to hit fuel tanks and ammo warehouses. The fuel tanks are easy enough to see, but where do you pick out the ammo warehouses? Is there any intel available about buildings at the various bases? Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  19. Ok, so I managed to get this notional RAAF default skin selectable by adding ....{USA} to the description.lua after reading some related posts. However, I thought it still would have shown up because "Australia" is listed in Blue forces in the mission. Does anyone know why I would have had to edit the .lua to get this Australian skin to be selectable? There are a lot more skins in the ...../Bazar/Liveries/A10-C folder that are not showing up in the select list even though their respective "countries" are listed in the mission parameters. Cheers! Dave Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  20. Hey Folks, Slightly off topic in that I am still using the legacy versions not 2.5ob, I have thought why a lot of the skins are not selectable. For example, I wanted to apply Strut's notional RAAF A10-C livery in TTI (single player offline). "Australia" is listed in the Allies section in the mission but the skin is not available in the drop down list. I did a search as I know this skin was included in the core game. I found it in the "..../Bazar/......." part of the file directory (can't remember the exact path - not at my computer). So there is another location for skins/liveries...... Yet, still not selectable. Is this just a repository to copy and paste skins from? Cheers! Dave Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  21. Early morning departure out of Nellis. DCS 2.2.0
  22. I would say catapult time is very scarce so all of these checks need to be carried out in the least time possible to keep operations moving along. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  23. Emergency landing south of Las Vegas. One and a half engines lost from enemy ground fire. DCS 2.2.0
  24. Hey Folks, I've been reading these posts about micro stutters, great information here. It made take interest in how my mid range rig would stand up. I fired up DCS 2.2.0 (I have not taken the plunge yet into DCS 2.5 OB) and loaded deadlyfishes TTI Las Vegas. With TrackIR on, sitting at Nellis, I checked the CPU affinity through Task Manager to see that all for logical cores (i5-6600K no HT) had a nicely spread load. The screen shot is showing about 70 - 80 fps. I have deferred shading on, MSAA off in DCS, and vsync "fast" (I believe my monitor is only 60Hz 1080p), FXAA and MSAAx2 on in the Nvidia CP. I don't know what is going on there. I have never set CPU affinity, so it appears DCS uses the 4 cores every time it loads? I haven't OC'd anything and i'm not running Process Lasoo. I flew the F5 around yesterday on the same settings and was getting consistently 100 - 120 fps. Anyway, have a look at the attached screenshot (hope it works ok). This may all change when 2.5 Stable is released. Great discussion in this topic  Cheers!
  25. Looks awesome Strut. Well done. Great to see some more RAAF skins. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
