  1. Hey folks, I've been using ME on latest 2.5OB to make some practice missions in learning to fly the F18C. I have added a tanker to practice AAR, but when I select EDIT on any waypoint on the "Route" tab, I can't change Altitude or Speed on any of the waypoints. I can't do this even for my own spawned player aircraft. I am probably missing the blatantly obvious, so any help and tips will be greatly appreciated. 2. You also need to make the DDI that the radar is displayed on "sensor of interest" using the sensor left or right command. There will be a small dot in the top right corner of the DDI showing which is currently sensor of interest. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  3. I think that may be designed as is for more accurate simulation of a pilot being strapped in very securely. There is limited movement anyway if harnesses etc are properly tensioned, especially for carrier recovery. You may want to bind "view zoom" to a hotas axis. Cheers! 4. G'day Folks, Finally after days of practice I have recorded a reasonable (and successful :pilotfly:) Case 1 trap. Thanks both to Wags' and Jabbers' videos and explanations, and all who have participated in the forums. Feel free to critique, all taken on board. Note: Many sterns were damaged and airframes killed in the making of this film. Cheers!
  5. Thanks Virus, could you expand please? When I am in the "Controls" GUI, it just saves one file. Or do I select a binding each on TM Throttle, TM Joystick, and Combat Rudder Pedals and save a .diff.lua each time, resulting in 3 files? Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  6. Hey Folks, I thought I would bump this thread rather than make a new one. Like OP, I'm seeking more explanation on the xxx.diff.lua for control bindings that is saved in the saved games directory with current version of DCS World In the past, when I have changed bindings on the HOTAS for different aircraft, I choose "Save Profile As", resulting in a xxxx.diff.lua in my Saved Games/etc folder (which is backed up separately). When I have ever reinstalled DCS World, I thought I would just load said profile and all of my bindings would be preserved. However, after doing this, I have found I have to go through from scratch to re bind things anyway. So what is the purpose of the .diff.lua file? Am I using it correctly? Many thanks, Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  7. Maybe check your right toe brake setting. It could be reversed therefore pulling right. Also check your throttle ranges for each engine to make sure you are getting symmetrical thrust. The last thing I can think of is make sure your rudder is centred and has no trim applied. Just doing some gross error checks (GECs). Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  8. I don't use TARGET at all for my TM Warthog HOTAS only the in-game GUI, so could the technique described in the post below be acceptable to set up the 3-way switches? (Flap lever, boat switch, speed brake switch etc). https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Eeagle%2Eru%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D89226&share_tid=89226&share_fid=74365&share_type=t Cheers! 9. Does anyone know if the handle will be interchangeable with the existing warthog base and handle? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  10. Ok, I just flew TTI Las Vegas single player (track IR 5 track clip pro) with DCS connected (login) with latest patch (2.5.1), latest Win10 update (1803) and latest nvidia drivers. I can report I had no microstutters and no freezes for the entire 4.5 hour session. I used GAU-8, mavericks (100% hits), GBU-12 (100% hits, lased from the drone), and CBU-105 (100% hits), watched the weapon camera each time, everything was as smooth as silk. Very happy with the performance. I just need to test on a multiplayer server/session now to see if it performs as well. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  11. Glad it worked [emoji106]. I've tinkered around with those settings and was pleasantly surprised with the results for my medium spec rig. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  12. Try turning vsync off within DCS, and use FAST vsync in the nvidia control panel. See if that makes much of a difference. Regards Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  13. Hi Von Thrud, Yes I got suspicious of this "network" involvement yesterday as per my post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3477896 However, I don't have the computer hardware and software smarts to investigate deeper. There does seem to be something interesting going on..... Regards, Dave Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  14. Hey Airbus, Yeah I hadn't looked at "Offline mode" yet. I found it interesting that DCS.exe would be looking for network I/O when not playing multiplayer. But as I said, I have no idea about this stuff and was hoping members may investigate to see if it is part of these freeze and micro stutter problems. Cheers! Dave Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  15. Thanks Coffee, No, not looking for help or anything. I was just reporting something I noticed that could potentially be investigated by someone more "in the know" regarding these freezes and micro stutters problems. I think I'm lucky in the fact that it is extremely rare that I experience a freeze or stutter, so I chalk them up to being due to the current Beta state. Cheers! 16. Hey Folks, I have no idea about this stuff so hopefully the computer savvy members could look into this: Today playing deadlyfishes' latest Las Vegas Through the Inferno mission in F5e (single player offline), I had a freeze on latest 2.5.1 I started looking through the Task Manager (Win10 home 64bit) and noticed the GPU (gtx 1070 8gb with latest nvidia drivers) activity was virtually 0% (obviously just rendering the frozen screen) while the SSD I have DCS installed on was 0%. I looked further into the Wait Chain analysis for the application which said, "one or more threads of DCS.exe are waiting to finish network I/O". The DCS thread is 10768. My network perfomance shows virtually 0% with an occasional little blip of sent data (8Kbps). Does this mean anything to anyone? I am running an I5 6600K with all 4 threads usable by DCS, and the CPUs are all showing 35% to 45% utilisation. Cheers! Dave Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  17. Yeah I had that too. My file structure though shows; .../Saved games/DCS/.... No mention of ..../DCSopenbeta/.... This leads me to believe it is the release version. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  18. Interesting.... I updated from stable 1.5.8 to 2.5 OB using the updater command line update @openbeta about 6 weeks ago. All went well. The other day, I ran the command line update @release, nothing appeared to happen until the dialog box appeared saying I was already on the latest update version. My Saved Games directory has ..../DCS World/.... in it. Nothing about openbeta in the file structure. So maybe it did switch to release. I have not downloaded the release version from the website. Has anyone else noticed this? Cheers!! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  19. Many thanks Ciribob. Much clearer now. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  20. Yes, once you put a new server name and ip into the boxes, you have to press the Save button at the very bottom of the dialog box (it doesn't stand out). A new save file (.csv) is created in the install folder with a list of all of your favourites. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  21. Actually, partially scratch this. It seems exiting out of DCS then reloading and changing module seems to rectify this. When I loaded into the F5E, The UHF was Radio 1, with 2 Unknowns beneath and all PTTs worked for this radio so I can keep physical PTT continuity. However, staying in DCS and loading into a new module does seem to show persistence with different radio sets. Scratch this, I think I worked out the correct "SAVE" procedure :joystick: LOL!!! Cheers! Dave
  22. Hey Ciribob, I just have a couple of questions regarding setup and switching between different DCS Modules - A10C and F5E, running on DCS 2.5 OB latest. I installed the latest version 1.4.8.0 and set up "enable radio switch works as PTT". I have a HOTAS Warthog Throttle and stick so have set up my DCS bindings to work as is, so throttle thumb switch forward is VHF AM PTT, thumb switch down is UHF PTT, and thumb switch back is VHF FM PTT. Depressing the thumb switch is my TS3 PTT hotkey. In the SRS settings, the above bindings work out to be Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 3 respectfully, so all good. So when connected to a server, all PTTs work as expected on the respective radios for the A10C. Now, if I change module to the F5E, which only has 1 UHF radio, I think SRS defaults this to Radio 1. My DCS key binding for this module is still thumb switch down (being the UHF radio (SRS Radio 2 binding)) so I can try to keep physical radio button PTT continuity between modules. So now SRS only activates PTT (Radio 1) when I press thumb switch forward, which will not work on the UHF radio in the F5E. Also, the overlay showed three radios for the F5E, I have not added any radios or presets nor edited any files. Is there a way to line these bindings up so all modules with UHF will be the DCS key binding, rather than the SRS Radio # binding? Or do I just change my F5E DCS PTT binding to "thumb switch forward" as SRS Radio 1? The other issue I found was my favourites were not saved when I exited out of SRS then reloaded later. I added a server address and IP on the favourites page which was selectable on the main page to connect, exited out, shut down SRS on desktop, reloaded SRS via desktop shortcut, only to find the favourite had disappeared on the drop down list and only the default local server was selectable. SRS is pointed correctly to my "Saved Games" folder. I hope this all makes sense, sorry for the long winded explanation. Many thanks and kind regards, Dave
  23. Yes, I have one of these in my rig. I plugged it into the very bottom pcie slot (near the power supply), the plugs were long enough to reach the headers. I think mine was usb 2.0 as I plugged in my warthog throttle and stick and combat pedals. All works well, never had any usb issues. My mobo is Asus stryx z270f. Cheers! 24. Dammit, I had a feeling 120 fps for Nevada was just too good to be true LOL!!!! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  25. Just did a 20 minute flight in NTTR in F5E. All working ok. Mirrors selectable on/off. Breathing sound at high g all good. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
