  1. In addition to the aerodynamics model, the flight model includes a new engine model, based on the F100-PW-220 engine with increased dry and afterburner thrust. The model accounts for inverted and negative G flight effects and features a special afterburner component model. The flight model also includes a new fuel system model as well as nosewheel steering and wheel brake component models. Special attention was paid to accurately recreate the design of the F-15C flight control system, including Pitch Ratio control adjusted for airspeed and altitude, Aileron/Rudder Interconnect (ARI), Control Augmentation System (CAS), Attitude and Altitude autopilots, and the Pitch Trim Compensator (PTC). The new model significantly improves the entire flying experience, making special flight conditions like air to air refueling, landing, and edge of the envelope flying far more dynamic, exciting, and even more challenging. Straight and level flight no longer feels like “flying on rails” while maneuvering flight provides a sensation of the power and control in your hands. Being a FM nut the above post just stirs my flight sim buttons and is what I look most forward to.I fly the A10c and wonder if,since this is a DCS plane, will ED be able to incorporate some of the new "models" into their previous released planes. Not the aerodynamic model of the plane but the nosewheel steering and wheel brake component models.
  2. Thanks Shein.I was using my own profiles in the X55 software and also in DCS and when I added in yours it worked perfectly!!!:thumbup: You are a lifesaver as I do not think I would of ever figured out how to program it.:D
  3. Purchased the X55 and find that the mouse nipple on throttle controls the players in cockpit head view instead of the TGP.Anyone have an idea what I did wrong?
  4. NM I changed my controls and right away the bomb works now.:joystick:
  5. Anyone have an idea why I can release bombs but they do not detonate?GBU38 is the bomb and I hear and see them leave the plane but no impact explosions ever?!?!
  6. Why two keyboards when DCS has an amazing function that lets you set more SHIFT keys. Its taken me a few days but I have finally mapped my controls to one keyboard and this is with a joystick that has no keys on the stick itself but just the base. Examples of what I have done that may give you an idea.I have SHIFT,SPACE,ALT,CTRL,JOYBUT6 on my joysticks base as the shift keys. DMS= SPACE + wasd TMS= Joy6 + wasd CMS= CTRL + wasd COOL= ALT + wasd Boat= SHIFT + xcv China= c,v Slew= SHIFT + wasd A is autopilot D is Master mode W is main trigger S=release weapons Speedbrakes is F/SHIFT F Flaps is G/Shift G Gear is SPACE+G NWS=SPACE + H E is zoom in and Q is zoom reset 1 is TrackIR reset 3 is wheel brakes SHIFT 2,3,4 changes auto pilot Now you have so many unused keys.I set things like leftengine/rightengine/APU spool up/down to the INS,DEL,HOME,END,PGEUP,PGEDWN keys.Trim is unused keys on my keyboard base etc etc.
  7. How is the feel of the stick in terms of controlling the plane?Saitek and their simple gimbal has never felt right to me but I may pick this up just for the price and buttons.
  8. Back into DCS again and the brakes on the A10c are bugging me again also.:joystick: Its a canned braking effect as you can just slightly touch the brakes and the plane will still skid around causing you to dance on the rudders.I can understand that this would happen on slippery runways but that is not modeled. Try coming to a complete stop and then proceed to taxi and use the brakes and you will notice the plane doesnt squirm all over the place but rather noses down when brakes are applied and brakes straight ahead. When they model real slippage depending on runway conditions then the harsh braking will be an excellent addition IMO and warrant the anti-skid button. For now though I would love it if they removed the canned slide when braking and just give us the normal brake effect. Gotta add that they did remove my other pet peeve of DCS A10c and that was the way the view would sway side to side when you would bank.It irked me to no end and when I first reinstalled A10c I noticed it was gone as default with the option to bring it back...."head movement by G-forces in cockpit".:DThanks ED......:thumbup:
  9. Thanks guys.I went into DCS World and tried to add A10c thru the module manager but it said I do not have the serial number. Now I am a huge Steam fan for the simplicity of it all and have noticed that Steam users are also having a hard time getting this type of issue fixed. If I were to actually go thru the problems to get this all sorted out I would most likely get the Steam version but money is tight lately, right now I am flying with a T.16000m only and keyboard.;) That gets me to my next question which is....does combining DCS World add features to the A10c that running it alone doesn't have? Most importantly is I REALLY need the ability to go to controller setup while in game ability that DCSWORLD has.Trying to setup a keyboard to do all the functions this game has is very hard when you have to exit out for each small change, enter back in to game to see if you like the new keys etc etc.:doh:It has taken me 1 whole day to stumble upon a good view system flying with just keys and I fear it will take me weeks to get a fully functional system setup. If DCSWOrld adds this functionality then I see no choice but to try to combine them.
  10. hello, wondering if anyone can help me.I have installed my retail copy of DCS A10c from the disk and just installed DCS world I downloaded from this site. How do I go about combining them?I cant seem to find the answer anywhere I have looked so sorry if its super obvious.:smartass:
  11. Definitely not arcadish. Each plane has these unique quirks that really add up to high realism IMO.And the best planes are a bitch to fight in!
  12. Your right,I forgot that part:lol::joystick: Even though,ROF is excellent at what it does.
  13. Its good but best physics is ROF.You rev and the plane comes to life under torque...you move controls under power while on the ground and plane moves around...and the ground handling is top notch.Search for this video Bristol F2.B (F.III) Test Flight
  14. Auto rudder unchecked and takeoff help at 0% and using simulation in gameplay options. It goes back to what I posted in another post about short throw controls. If they ever make rudders and joysticks that need pressure to move them a cm then we will finally have excellent control. I have Pro flight rudders and using the program it come with I have narrowed the range of them drastically.I then only use my two big toes to move them and it makes for much better control. But if someone where to model rudders that moved just an inch each way and with a great progressive feel so that each tiny mm movement is felt as a bit more pressure than it would be nirvana.:joystick: New Track.trk
  15. Is itt normal that I took off and landed 4 times before my first crash?I find the FM very intuitive and so easy to fly.Other FM's where things happen and I have no idea why but this FM makes sense to me.Also,I take off full power now as I find it easier this way where I just hold stick back for a little while and concentrate on staying straight.
  16. I have been saying for years that the ultimate controls for flight sims is not long throws but in fact very short throws with very high tension. This tension though must be a smooth progression so that you can feel minute changes in force and also the small amount of movement must be linked to gears to run a pot thru its total range.Sadly this is just not being worked on.I am not lying here when I say that I was the first person to say that a proper brake pedal is one with very small amount of very progressively hard throw and geared to use a pots full range....was ridiculed by many at Racesimcentral yrs back but now the brakes of modern racing sims controls do just that.I even sent emails to Thomas from Fanatec wheels to make a hardcore sub $200 dollar set of rudders but not even a reply back sadly.
  17. Wet our appetites ED.One video of a dogfight between two P51's:smilewink:
  18. Many others like myself fly the A10 just to fly it.Give me a prop sim DCS style and what is wrong there???
  19. All for the sunlight glints effects here. This way you are scanning and you may or may not notice the sparkle.
  20. No KLR RICo....you could also change the button to eject to just E.Problem is that you will hit it by accident most likely.
  21. Definitely old and Oleg caused me to lose my love for him when he added in the wiggles and claimed it was real and then claimed it was all in our heads. His torque model was blah also and most importantly he tried to add in a super large amount of planes instead of a study sim.DCS will release study sim Legend planes and this is where it will shine.
  22. Two buttons to cycle thru the radio choices. SHIFT-J in options. The point where the plane starts to skid when applying brakes set higher in the brake force curve so that you can push brakes to there stops and then backoff slightly.Helps you to know your giving maximum braking force. Hud vibrating when firing GAU
  23. Hey thanks Sobek, you answered alot of my questions I had. :)
  24. Mayans were not killed off but integrated into societies.
  25. I am afraid to ask this because it seems many of you here are actual military and I work for Fedex.:megalol: Are you sure?I see videos :music_whistling: of infantry in urban settings and they work in conjunction with tanks. They are the tanks eyes and move forward scan and then tank follows. The tank's job is to destroy strongholds for them etc.And if I was a SHORAD driver I would plan routes with trees and as much terrain as possible to counter attacks while escorting columns. I just checked out the Pantsir and it dawns on me that it could be remotely controlled saving the crew if it gets destroyed compared to climbing into a tracked vehicle.Sorry another question I have is are you for certain killed if you get attacked from above.I seen videos of tank turrets being blown off and wonder if the crew has any chance to survive that.
