Anti-Virus picks up Trojan in ED products installer
xaoslaad replied to Crumpp's topic in General Bugs
AV's often identify legitimate programs as potential threats just because they can be used for nefarious purposes. I've seen this with eveything from vnc to nmap and in between. Could even be that the heuristics need to be tweaked. -
Tacview is your friend! Highly recommend it. Totally worth the cost! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

New Installer painfully slow
xaoslaad replied to Frogfoot1606687865's topic in Installation Problems
At the end of the torrent it uncompressed it then installed. I think it was the same size either way, just not packaged/compressed quite the same. -

Steam didn't want to do rolling periodic imports of keys; I'm quite sure a giant one (last) time import could be arranged... if not, then yes, it would be a bad idea. -

That's only true for as long as the torrent client is running to upload data. How does that work exactly with an updater that runs and exits? -

I had 0.0 Kbps download for awhile. while uploading at .6 mbps. I'm 1/5th of the way there now going at barely better than dial up speeds. I'm sorry you hate paying for bandwidth for downloads, but this is in absolutely no way a better experience for your customers. If you want fast downloads without having to pay for it directly and save us all a headache in the process: Ditch starforce DRM in favor of Steam DRM. Use Steam as your soul distributor 2 birds with one stone. We're happy, you're happy, everyone's happy. -
Cant wait to fly this! Sounds like pre order is just about next up :) Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

Any 4K users having issues with the new 1.5 update?

Still happening with all nvidia and windows 10 updates installed here... are you sure your not just at 100% scaling since installing windows 10? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk -
Where do you get that idea thats its only for A-10C beta purchasers? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

Likewise looking forward to this big time. Looks like its coming along nicely too :)

They work fine in 1.2. Can't do anything to make them dispense in 1.5
-
Thank you! I've been nailed by this in 1.5 and plugging and unplugging USB devices I was building to many times. The 21 definitely seems more finicky than other modules, so I'll be glad to see a fix. I'm already down to 5 activations and no way have I installed it more than 2 or 3 times...

I'd for one love to see a weapon select increase/decrease in addition to the 1-0 and - keys. Mapping 11 buttons where two, or even one in a desperate pinch, could do the job is crazy. I have an encoder (works in the same way that this switch does - spins infinitely in either direction) that would be perfect for this function. To be clear I am not arguing that the other 11 should necessarily go away, but having an option to emulate what the left/right click does would be nice.

MFG Crosswind - Review
xaoslaad replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I got mine in the mail today. Just set them up and tested them a little. My first impression is that these things are utterly amazing! So much less wobbling taxiing the A-10, nice subtle adjustments in the Mi-8, etc. Worth the wait and money. Order if you haven't! :D -

I would not get worked up over the time it takes for international deliveries. As soon as it's international it involves customs and usually switching couriers. I've done this with small electronics from Israel via two different couriers multiple times as well and it was no better. Basically plan on 2.5 weeks and slow or non-existent status updates between the time it leaves the first couriers hands and it reaches your front door. I had never seen the lost/missing paperwork before, but regardless of that it's still well on par with anything else I've received in terms of time clearing customs. -
SLI works wonderfully now in 1.5 Open Beta. You just need to add the exe to the dcs:bs profile and tweak a few settings using nvidia inspector. I get ~40 fps with one card and ~80 with 2 at 4k resolution.
-
Both. It's not uncommon for the Open Beta and release to be at the same version. Although Open Beta will likely be pushed to 2.0 in short order from the sounds of ED's hopeful plans.
-
No idea. My guess is between now and CV1.

Hi! Sure thing, a quick do over is attached I got off the ground as fast as possible and on target ASAP. It's a short flight, so hopefully it doesn't waste too much time. I watched the replay with fraps up and I went from 80+ down to 18 and then 3 fps when the rounds landed on the Hip. For specs: I play at 4k, most settings turned up, sli 970's, i7 6700k, 32 GB RAM, and Intel 750 SSD. The game plays phenomenally other than this interesting frame drop I hit on learning PROGR mode. Anyway, thanks for looking. If nothing else I'd be interested to learn if it is(n't) as severe under other specs/resolution/settings. server-20151026-220046.trk

I've seen that before with other aircraft. Seems to happen very rarely
-
I was learning to use progr mode with 4 gunpods firing on the Su-25T with cut off fire turned off. I launched a big enough burst of ammo at an Mi8-MTV2 on the ground after locking on with the Shkval to kill it in a single pass, but holy cow it causes a lag spike like I have not seen yet in 1.5, which is running ~80 fps for me on average. It's like it had to sit and think hard about every round impacting the chopper.
-
SLI does not work with the Oculus Rift yet...
-
I have the same with high settings with 32GB, i7 6700k, and two 970's (only using one though since SLI isn't supported...)... SLI will undoubtedly improve much whenever it starts working, but I wonder if the CV1's higher resolution will cut it right back down.... may just have to mess with settings to get better fps.

Is there any possibility to have Crimea in DCS again?
xaoslaad replied to Dyk's topic in DCS Core Wish List
That's probably easier said than done without running afoul of some legal mumbo jumbo, at least by people who have seen ir worked on the old one. And once people start popping up comparison shots of old vs. new they're influenced, which probably also isn't great if they continue to work on it. My IANAL guess though.
