  1. Yep and I find it to be a male / female thing.. Men tend to be more visual and are therefore more sensitive to the differences.. Most men I talk to say there is a big difference and most women do not see it...
  2. Thanks.. Just thought to check the first post just about the time you replied.. Thanks!
  3. I must be dense, but WHERE? Not seeing anything with pics in it... ???
  4. I wanted that bird from day one but most folks aren't interested.. Damn shame really.. (Of course getting actual usable information about that chopper would be close to impossible)
  5. Nothing lame about a Blackhawk.. All kinds of systems and endless possibilities.. Damn good choice if you ask me... (Anything that requires 18 MONTHS of training just to get up to speed on the systems is definitely not lame) And also consider the fact that newbies to the Blackhawk are already seasoned pilots and still requires 18 months to get proficient.. Complicated bird that one!
  6. I am not sure I can even remember that far back... LOL
  7. Of course they are trying to sell the plane but you guys are basically calling the guy a liar due to your own biases... Same kind of attitude that ran Kinney off and just as that was unacceptable so it is here as well.. Internet tough guys behind the keyboard... But I would love to see you accuse the pilot face to face.. But that sure isn't going to happen.. <smh>
  8. Wow that was a TON of work and well worth the effort... THAT will sell some modules for ED... Great work!
  9. Excellent.. Please keep us posted as you go.. Good and bad.. I am betting that when you do hit a rough spot you can post it in this thread and others will have had a similar if not the same issue and can post some pointers for you... As Sierra99 said, this is supposed to be fun so when it stops being fun set it aside and maybe do some reading instead and then pick it up later when you feel fresh.. I can tell you that real piloting is an overwhelming thing and that is why when you take lessons they are usually one flight hour at a time... Doesn't sound like much but you are SPENT at the end of that hour! (At least I was and am)
  10. When it gets to be too much, walk away and just read the manual at your own pace... Having some knowledge ahead of time helps alot when you jump back in.. Hang in there and just keep plugging away slowly.. Also, pick some quick start missions that start with you in the air so you can just fly... Don't worry about the cold start stuff until you are ready to jump into that..
  11. Welcome Mart! Just take it slow and concentrate on ONE module at a time using the tutorials that were mentioned and you will be fine. DCs IS overwhelming but if you take it slow and small steps at a time you will be OK.. I also recommend just learning how to fly the plane before ever even looking at the systems / weapons etc.. (I still have more than one module that I can fly the plane and have ZERO idea how to use weapons... Who cares? Still enjoying them all immensely. Also, be sure to look at the excellent manuals provided for each module.. There is a lot of info in there and can save a lot of head scratching...
  12. It was pretty ground breaking stuff at the time though... The Amiga was far superior in it's day.. Damn shame the parent company was run by imbeciles or the PC landscape today would look much different I think.. I still have several working Amiga machines and still enjoy them..
  13. Ahh Grasshopper, you learn WELL...
  14. I can second that statement.. 750TI won't get you high settings but it works well enough when you turn some things down... 750TI will do the job!
  15. So please enlighten us with the "obvious"...
  16. Well yeah because we all want a sequel that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the original and does not share any of the former magic at all...
  17. Absolutely..
  18. GOD this thread gets more and more ridiculous by the day..
  19. Pierre Sprey We can all just look away now. The guy is a joke.. Nothing but self serving sour grapes because his plane lost out.. He really needs to just shut up and any and all of his interviews should die by fire...
  20. I think it also said that this feature may not be available immediately..
  21. Yeah thanks TopGunner.. I am sure your ban on DCS purchases will make the difference between DCS 2.0 being completed in the next 2 weeks and not..
  22. And this would be different than real life ... How?
  23. In a nutshell there are no specific optimizations for Xeon and the same rules will apply regarding speed. DCS is not multi threaded so the speed of the processor is what matters... Get the fastest possible.. Beyond that I doubt there is any advantage to using a Xeon as it is a server based processor and as such it isn't really designed for games. (Not saying you can't use one as you certainly can) but also remember that the mainboards designed for the Xeon will be designed for server use so it may not have what you want for a gaming box.. Personally, I would stay away from it simply because it is not designed for games and DCS does not officially support it. (If you have issues you would be on your own.) IMHO better to pick up an I7 or an I5 for that matter and get the absolute fastest one you can afford..
  24. Didn't look stupid to me.. (Whoever said that sounds like someone takes themselves way to serious and easily gets their undies in a bunch.. ) Looks like you guys had a lot of fun...
