not deleted by ed Unofficial roadmap thread deleted?
kontiuka replied to Sonoda Umi's topic in Chit-Chat
Ya, I checked it on a daily basis as well. -
It's not really an axis say like on the P-51D or F-86F. There are specific positions for the target range. Think of it as similar to the flaps handle.
-
I've seen it before too. The smoke fuze labels are messed up as well.
-
Unfortunately, the track replay is broken. But I've had this issue before. It seems to happen if you fly too slow at high altitudes. I'm guessing the reasoning is because the air, although cooler, is too thin to carry away the heat. I think if you fly faster, say 230, 240, 250 kts you'll be ok.

Clouds :) Not sure where else to put this?

The entire meteorological engine is getting revamped. What exactly that will entail is unknown but the new clouds are just the first step.- 1 reply

reported Cargo unavailable in Syria instant action mission
kontiuka posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
In the "Take Off from Runway" instant action mission, the cargo is unavailable for pick up because it is assigned to a neutral country. -
Ya, the rudder pedal adjustment has changed since the training mission was made years ago. First, you have to assign a keybind to "Adjust Rudder Pedals - Forward" and "Adjust Rudder Pedals - Backward". Once done, click on the highlighted control in the training mission and, at the same time, press your keybind to adjust the pedals.

Both in 2.5 and 2.7, the weather settings were 20 degrees C at 29.92 InHg. No wind. Aircraft configuration exactly the same. Yet, I'm managing an extra 20 plus kts. Something has changed. Maybe the external forces are less in 2.7.
-
I just downloaded 2.7 stable and of course wanted to do some cloud surfing in the C-101. After flying around for a while, I got the distinct impression that this little plane seemed a little peppier than usual. Fortunately, I had done a quick test in 2.5 a little while ago and had the following results for the C-101CC with default weather, MPR engaged, 25% fuel ... 365 kts at sea level. In 2.7, same parameters, I can now get her up to 388 kts! Still not a speed demon but I'm not going to complain about an extra 23 kts. I didn't do any tests for the EB unfortunately but it seems faster too. If intentional, it's a nice little surprise from AvioDev.

72 gig update to stable. Yikes. And I don't even own half the modules.
-
Really like flying the early jets like the Sabre so this might be right down my alley.
-
Not to beat a dead horse but +1 on their taking them out entirely or at least 90%.
-
I think the BE is the sexiest of the bunch but I agree, it's not going to serve that much of a purpose as a training platform since most people will already be pretty familiar with the single seat version by that point. Still want it though.
-
I don't remember the C-101 ever being mentioned for MAC. Not that I've followed this too closely. Love the C-101 but they'd have to give it an afterburner or something for it to be any fun in an arcade setting.

New Pilot - C-101CC Low Power, difficult to gain altitude
kontiuka replied to knomie72's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
You're likely in gyroscopic air-to-air mode. Set the switch below the gun sight to manual for bombing and rockets and strafing. Then set your depression to whatever works for you. For rockets, I personally set it to 025 which gives me pretty good results when I dive in on a target at a 30 degree dive angle and 300 kts. For bombing, I set it to 110 and for ground strafing I just set it to 010. Takes a bit of practice and trial and error to see what works for you. Also, you can lower the seat to see the reticle better. -
New Pilot - C-101CC Low Power, difficult to gain altitude
kontiuka replied to knomie72's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
I guess it depends on how you interpret "will be available for the full five minute takeoff rating period". Does it mean you shouldn't exceed 5 minutes or does it mean that you can get at least 5 minutes use from it? -

Also, hold the wheel brakes and allow the engine to spool up before releasing them. -
BAT TEM after isolating BUG? (lastest open beta)
kontiuka replied to Lau's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
I've experimented with this recently. I don't have a track but it seems to reliably happen if the aircraft isn't flying overly fast for a period of time. I tried this in the Nevada free flight instant action mission where I flew over FL 200 for about 25 minutes simulated time at around 200 kts. At that point, I got the overheated batteries. If you fly faster, say 250 kts, I don't think it is an issue. This is in the DCS World Release version. I don't have open beta. -

Thanks much. -
C101 Aircraft Systems Failure Selection(s)
kontiuka replied to zhousaifu's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
But it's nice to know you can set failures also with triggers. That means I can have something fail right at mission start (well, within 1 minute) which gives me a reason to do the start-up checklist. But also I can have something fail mid flight in the same mission. This is something I've wanted to set up for a while. On a related note, is there a way to randomly set switch positions in the mission editor. Like fuses and stuff? -

That's also only available to player controlled aircraft. Not clients. -
I don't know. Asking Aerges to develop a Fitter seems like a lot to ask.
