  1. Thanks for the screenshot, showed exactly what i mean. Now compare that to the Sabre trailer, which i think is clearly an early version of DCS World 2:
  2. Quick question, I know it's WIP. But from the MiG-15 trailer the Sabre don't have the "reflections" from their skin anymore like earlier DCS world 2 videos. Was this feature dropped, or just not currently implemented yet?
  3. I think people aren't really concerned about the "PK" of the AMRAAM, but they are concerned with it's inflight use of bleeding speed when it doesn't need to be. It's already been explained by GG, the missile seekers aren't working well with the AFM (is what i got from his posts). AMRAAM real life PK data is irrelevant anyways.
  4. Underestimation can be played by both sides. People keep downplaying the F-35 will eventually get a rude awakening by it. It may not be the best turning aircraft ever, but it has alot of things going for it; ignoring it will be a huge problem. Especially if they procure the actual numbers they are going for.
  5. Wow, that loadout is quite different from what i've seen. I remember a while ago there was a big discussion in these very forums about USN loadouts in the last few years. The discussion had some experts and pictures showing that they only carried 3 missiles, usually 2 AMRAAM's and one AIM-9X. That was the loadouts for both peacetime and wartime. Those hornets... are way more loaded than 3 missiles. Interesting.
  6. His idea was that BVR aircraft are 100% useless, and thus don't require a radar. He wanted a radarless F-16 carrying 6 IR missiles, he felt jamming would make all radars useless in a modern battlefield. He said the F-15 was going to be a total failure, just like his opinions today about the F-35... So take it how you want to.
  7. 1.) Mr Sprey didn't design the F-16, nor the A-10. 2.) He thought the F-15 was a total failure; because it had a radar, was too big, and had twin engines. 3.) Sprey wanted to use F-16 as a radarless air superiority fighter, which is quite different from what made the F-16 as successful as today. 4.) He literally wanted to use a cheap F-16, giving the pilot no big advantage in combat, except for numbers (so he basically wanted to trade lives for enemy aircraft). 5.) He's not even in the aircraft business anymore, and his opinion should be taken lightly. 6.) F-35 has alot of hate, and he's just fueling the fire for no reason. While i think the F-35 is over-budgeted aircraft, it has alot improvement for success, especially down the road with uprated engines, easily updated software; ETC.
  8. I don't think anyone is hurt by your opinions. Ok. So the air campaign apparently failed. What do you want from this? Didn't you say the F-35 was not worth buying into high numbers? Your opinion about the A-10 basically says the opposite, because replacing F-35's with A-10's would make sense; as they would've of faired WAY better in this kind of situation. Reminder: SAM = HARM Central!
  9. The B-2 is probably the most capable stealth aircraft ever built.
  10. Slang. :P While not intentional I think, the released F-22 Alaskan crash report showed alot of information about the F-22, I think that's where i saw both of those stats. The mach number might not be that high, but it was close. I also remember the picture in the report had the throttle at 60% or so too.
  11. Because there's no need for the USAF to have a MiG-31, so why even bring up the point it "outclasses" USAF aircraft.. of course it does. They have no need for one, they didn't have Mach 3+ aircraft at 80,000 ft constantly bombarding their airspace.. Also, while it isn't quite as fast, nor has quite a long missile range. The F-22 flies at 60,000+ feet, 1.70+ mach without burners even in training missions.
  12. ^ These posts are my favorite, While the Russian bias is quite big on these forums. It just shows more and more these days keep underestimating American aircraft. Which is a good thing. :smilewink:
  13. While wing loading is important to aircraft, the new crazy kid thing these days is body lift. Which has me baffled at Mr. Spreys comments about wing loading. His own aircraft, (the f-16) uses basically the same layout as the F-35, high wingloading, but massive body lift... If wing loading was the end all to be all. The F-4 should apparently fly circles around the F-16, and the MiG-29 (which has one of the highest wing loadings out there). Also, if you do 2 AAM and 8000lbs; compared to other aircraft, the F-35, it has one the highest T:WR out there. The F-35 is carrying a godly amount of fuel for it's overall weight. There is so much hate surrounding this F-35 Program that it's sickening, the press/media have put it in a bad spotlight that it can't seem to return from. The F-22 was put in the same spotlight, but it IMO one of the best aircraft ever built.
  14. And what situation is the F-35 in exactly?
  15. Give me a break. GG is the only one on these forums who actually are on the other side of things. When i was constantly checking the AIM-120 vs R-27 FC3 thread for daily news, the amount of R-27 defending "fanboys" that you are calling GG right now, were swarming that forum for the R-27.
  16. Just an FYI bro, the USN cancelled the other orders and just stuck with 3. Then they used that money put it into the more cheaper, affordable Arleigh Burke class destroyers. It wasn't because they are so uber 1337 expensive they could only afford 3. They bought 3, and cancelled the orders for more. And put the money else where. That simple. the USN has done this in the past. Seawolf vs Virginia class submarines anyone? I also need to stop coming to the reality section. I feel like most of the people here are anti American and it almost makes me feel i'm not welcomed.
  17. I strongly believe the production line will open again the future.
  18. Yes, i'm quite aware. My comment was aimed to the towards the whole simulated part of these fights.
  19. I'd like to see where your overrated Typhoon 'eats' the Raptor when it isn't fully slicked out, and actually carrying fuel tanks, especially since almost every takeoff i see a Typhoon is wearing fuel tanks.
  20. I like how hard the Rafale pilot has to turn to impress us with his marvelous simulated WVR kill, in a simulated dogfight.
  21. Pity the F-35 is above and beyond the T-50 in the strike roles, you know... the reason it was made and called JSF.
  22. What's the sense of this thread then? For the Red side to cry foul and say ED is purposely porking their missiles, when it's obvious both sides are having problems with missiles?
  23. This site has alot more Russian bias than people think. So this isn't a good place to get honest answer.
  24. Liking the Wingtip vortices. Especially the Su-27 pic. Amazing. Thanks for the update Wags.
