  1. Thanks Zeus!
  2. I am unable to select the AN/AAQ-28(V) LITENING targeting pod on stations 2 or 6 (in 1.5.8 stable) as the following pictures show should be available. Is this an oversight or an upgrade not supported on this simulated model?
  3. Here’s a decent post from stackexchange, with a shiny graphic:
  4. When using the CATM-9 and selecting A/A fore or aft, the HUD indicates there is no suitable ordnance loaded to the aircraft (slashes). It should bring up the seeker head to get a tone but not fire when pulling the trigger.
  5. Absolutely correct!
  6. There is a discussion similar to this in another thread, perhaps it will answer your question? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=197820
  7. It may be humorous to hear an A-10C, F/A-18C/E, F-15E check in with 15-30 minute playtimes before needing to AAR and return. However, they carry a whole lot more options for the customer to use to engage targets and provide a much higher situational awareness of the area than other, long endurance assets could provide.
  8. They are referred to as reflex or negative flaps: https://www.google.com/amp/www.planeandpilotmag.com/article/the-logic-of-flaps/amp/
  9. Gotcha, thanks for the clarification, I had made the assumption it was like the MiGs.
  10. Wow, that wasn’t expected. Thanks for the tip!
  11. I searched, albeit from my mobile and could have missed something, and couldn’t find anyone mentioning this issue. When selecting board numbers, only the 10s position changes and the 1s is always “0”. So, if I set 24, I get 20 or 15 will be 10. This is either through the mission manager or the rearming menu. Beautiful model, by the way!
  12. I believe it stays on the stable version.
  13. Looks like a fantastic plane set, unfortunately mid-day US time will leave most of JG-1 unable to attend. I wish you the best of luck!
  14. Myself and JG-1_Klaiber had a great sortie last night as we're starting to get back into the MiG-15bis and learning how to employ her in combat. Survival is the number one priority: We'll have to try and group up as JG-1 is working on a more consistent schedule. However, with the holidays coming up, it's hit and miss right now.
  15. No VMA-211 skin on release? That made me a sad panda, for sure :(
  16. 104th has a few bugs with their missions after the latest update, we noticed it with the Magic IIs. I think they need to make some changes to bring these weapons back (if they haven’t already).
  17. I recall seeing an NVG stowage box in the pocket guide, so I’m leaning towards a “Yes.”
  18. My dad resigned his commission from the Marine Corps in the early ‘80s because he saw the writing on the wall for his squadron (VMA-211) to transition to the AV-8A. He lost a few friends in the introduction of the Harrier to the Corps and decided a new family would be more important than a new airframe. It certainly had a reputation as an unforgiving aircraft.
  19. It's been around and discussed for quite some time. I'm still searching for a definitive answer on which is right, true or magnetic on the MiG-21bis, specifically. Viper, a sim enthusiast that I have a lot of respect for through these forums, had this quip that leads me to believe it's true. However, I do not know his references: Full thread here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=131025 Conversely, the following answer came from some educated pilots indicating magnetic, but I cannot guarantee their knowledge of this specific Russian aircraft. https://www.quora.com/What-do-all-the-controls-in-a-fighter-jets-cockpit-do
  20. I wonder if server settings can limit this use? For example, in a Vietnam setting, could they keep the GPS units out of the options? BTW, I'm all for putting one in my MiG for all modern period uses, I would also like to keep my '60s era dream alive :D
  21. Multiplayer campaign would be very much so appreciated. I'm a fan of flying with friends with an objective, be it online servers or Co-op. The training/exercise/combat approach looks like the classic crawl/walk/run transition.

    turn left

Is it turning left on the ground during taxi or rolling left in flight? If it's turning left on the ground, take a look at your outside view (F2) and see if the nose wheel is canted. The nose wheel is hardly ever centered when I initially load up in the MiG and I have to use the differential brakes to get it going straight 9/10 times.
  23. If it's what I'm thinking you're asking for is how to convert Lat/Long from DD MM.MMM (Degrees Minute-decimal minute) to D M S (Degrees minute seconds) or perhaps the other way around. Just write down the Degrees and Minutes and multiply the decimal-minutes by 60 for the seconds. 34° 36.250' (0.250 x 60=15) = 34° 36' 15" -or- Write down the Degrees and Minutes and divide the seconds by 60 for the decimal-minutes. 117° 34' 45" (45 / 60 = 0.750) = 117° 34.750' I hope that was what you're asking.
  24. Anything from VMA-211 would make me happy.
  25. This just makes me want to file a wishlist for the Mirage 2000D. The C is great for what she was designed for.
