  1. Quake is a First Person Shooter where you play on a small map against an opposing team. The gameplay would wind up resulting in spawning, rushing in, scoring a kill or two, quickly dying, and respawning. Kill death ratios could be something outrageous like 20 kills to 30 deaths as an example. This has been applied to online player versus player servers/games where no regard for personal survival is kept and the only goal is to shoot down someone else as quickly as possible. This is opposed to flying with the intent to survive and make it back alive and preferably in one piece so the plane can be used again.
  2. QUESTION 1, Would you buy an AV-8B Harrier Module A = Yes. I've been around AV-8Bs and am looking forward to another high-fidelity, dedicated attack aircraft. QUESTION 2, How long do you honestly believe before the Harrier will be introduced?(No disrespects to RAZBAAM you guys are great!) B = 12 Months. I wouldn't want to see anything rushed to finish by the end of the year. I'm patient and have a lot to learn with the current fleet I own. QUESTION 3, Are you more excited for the AT-27 Tucano that is supposed to be released by the end of this year, or waiting some more time for the AV-8B? A = AT-27. This is purely due to the fact that it will come out soon. I am very interested in a light attack, modern propeller aircraft in DCS. If it wasn't being made by RAZBAM, I probably wouldn't buy it but I'm all in with their M2K and outstanding customer relations. Question 4, Do you see the AV-8B having a place in DCS World? A = Yes, it will add some very interesting gameplay features to DCS B = It is a niche aircraft in real life and will be in DCS. I guess both of these answers fit my response. I think launching attack sorties off of LHD/LHA ships will be something different than doing the same thing with Hornets off of full size carriers. Both will have their place in the game and I'll definitely enjoy either approach. Question 5, Do you really hope RAZBAAM will soon turn a large amount of its research and development into the highly complex AV-8B? A = Yes, RAZBAAM needs to finish up the AT-27 and start full work on the AV-8B ASAP! This is purely for the instant gratification in me. However, I would like to see each module released get the majority of their attention until it's in a releasable state.
  3. Found some interesting details on what is shared within those bands: http://www.spaceacademy.net.au/spacelink/radiospace.htm
  4. There are a few pages with the AF-1 (the Brazilian A-4M) on carriers: http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?50782-Brazilian-Skyhawks-in-action!-) The module in question would be a dream come true for me. My dad flew #24 for VMA-211 for a number of years.
  5. It affects the differences in reflections or shininess caused by various materials. Here is an interesting article on the subject: http://blog.digitaltutors.com/understanding-difference-texture-maps/
  6. I've seen the same issue and fix with the Gazelle.
  7. I personally love the Mirage, even in it's current state. Although the MiG-21 is my favorite, I enjoy the parity that the M2K gives me at altitude on MP servers.
  8. Although I haven't flown military aircraft, all the ones I've been around have chocks in, brakes off on shutdown.

I know I'm not subjected to the same amount of regulatory restrictions as a military pilot is when I'm in the Citabria 7KCAB but I carry my iPad mini on my leg with a Bluetooth GPS receiver on the glare shield. It's equipped with ForeFlight, which is approved by the aviation administration for navigation. It has almost completely replaced my paper kneeboard, though I still keep it as a backup. I use the same program for approach plates in aircraft I fly that have moving maps, however the Citabria doesn't even have a transponder, much less a moving map display ;)

The other sign that he was the wingman is the fact his head was glued to the right, not moving at all. But yeah, his helmet obscures the lead for most of the video.
  11. Ahh, that could be the issue, we were using the same custom map for both tests, I'll double check that setting. Thanks for the idea.
  12. It's currently available for me, not sure why it's not showing up for you.
  13. That would explain why there is shake while stationary but smooths out when you start moving instead of the original severe shake after throttling up on takeoff roll. My friend said we were cold in the cockpit... he was closer than I thought.
  14. I was having a similar issue in 1.5.3 with AI JTAC and player a A-10C, also. I would drop around 12k feet and it would just drift and not track. Perhaps a laser code issue? The JTAC called 1688 and the A-10C had that as well. I didn't voice anything about it because I wanted to research it more but this post is relevant.

This would be a blast! Pun intended :pilotfly: I'm looking forward to some A-10C FAC and Mirage bomb truck fun, myself.
  16. Your constant clarification and freedom of information has me hooked on your products. I picked up the Mirage because it looked nice, it is now among my favorite ships in the fleet. Thank you.
  17. I watch that original compilation each time before I fire up the M2K and your video hit each mark like I was watching the same clip. Absolutely wonderful recreation! Honestly got chills from the similarities.
  18. Sure, I'll put my dream sheet in: A-4M Skyhawk (personal reasons, but any version of Heinemann's hot rod will do) Mirage 2000D A-6 Intruder F-4 Phantom
  19. Like I mentioned, I totally agree and I'll be adding this mod to my game, it looks fantastic.

Here is a great tutorial for that alignment: [ame] [/ame]
  21. I agree, the Navs in DCS are too much, however, I want to make sure you're not being mislead by this statement. All aircraft must have position lights to assist in visual separation, ICAO governs this requirement. By having a red light on the left wing, it shows oncoming aircraft from the left that they must yeild. Just because they're military aircraft doesn't make them any different. However, they do have a low intensity option that most civil aircraft do not and if they do not wish to be seen in a tactical environment, they will turn them off.
  22. That brings up another possible addition. Change bars along the side of updated paragraphs and lines would bring attention to the differences since the previous revision. That way, if something has been changed we wouldn't have to skim the entire manual looking for something that is different than how we initially learned it, it would stand out. Just a suggestion.
  23. I said across her nose, not up it!
  24. Climb profile to intercept a target after a scramble takeoff. I extracted the data from paragraphs 202-205 in the MiG-21bis manual that was posted somewhere on this forum. My search is failing me but this post contains an excerpt of that section. As for GCI, I haven't made one myself but a squadmate of mine has put it into our practice mission so I know that there is a way. I've flown several B-52 intercepts from a cold ramp start with my squadron.
  25. No worries, glad you like it.
