  1. I'm sure there is a fair amount of people that want these touches removed. I, however, applaud the detail that LS put into the aircraft, making it look well used and not pampered.
  2. In short, no it isn't supposed to land with heavy loads. Here's an excerpt from page 32-34 in the Manual:
  3. Awesome news, 2 years in anticipation and less than 2 weeks to go! :pilotfly:
  4. Thank you Niryi!
  5. As always, I love your videos. You have a simple way of explaining things to the lowest common denominator. In my line of work, we call it "Breaking it down, Barney style." And it works. This range you use, is it a publicly available mission? Is it already in Georgia and I just don't know about it?
  6. Your pitch is going to change, but you can maintain altitude if you do what Exorcet says. Also, use rudder to coordinate your roll.
  7. I kicked in to the level of the printed manual and for whatever reason I expected it to be a recreation of a WWII manual. Since it's just a modern manual for the game, I wouldn't mind not having a physical copy. On September 12th, 2013 they updated the reward tiers to include a t-shirt at my level of backing, I was pleasantly surprised. However, if the money could better used elsewhere, I fully understand and I don't really need another t-shirt in my closet.
  8. Chair, did you try to assign the axis for the rudder by using the dropdown box instead of pushing them? In the assign box where the axis would pop up, click the down arrow and pick it from there.
  9. Habu, We took a pair of A-10Cs from Pig flight (4 slot with voice over JTAC) and had no issues over the target. The sequence continued as soon as all the targets were destroyed from the first call. Works great!
  10. The one we hit the mortar target and killed everything on the hilltop was the two ship slot and the first was one of the four ships and the enemy was in the tree lines. There is a reasonable possibility that someone got away in the trees, the firefight stopped and we couldn't find anyone with the TGP. We'll have to give it another shot, which I look forward to!:pilotfly:
  11. Thanks Harzach, I guess I had a similar issue as he did.
  12. I had linked it in post #9 but I guess it's no longer there...
  13. My wingman and I flew this mission the other night after a couple months of hiatus on my part. This has always been our go-to when we want entertaining and realistic scenarios. We were tasked from one IP to a target area and engaged an ambush after being directed by the JTAC. We killed everything we could see but the JTAC never spoke to us again. We went back to the IP and didn't get another call. We re-upped in another flight and went to another IP and were directed to an artillery strike. We took out the target and the JTAC never spoke to us after that initial engagement. We returned to the IP and were ignored, too. I did open it and save it for 1.2.7, I certainly look forward to the latest version as this single mission has given me days of enjoyment (not just hours ;) )
  14. Yes, you can see the pointer with any NVG that is based on infrared light spectrum.
  15. Jib summed up some of the negatives. I use VAC with the A-10C most of the time, so I'm used to the phrases that work and can say them without the computer getting it wrong. If I have an issue, I just say "Opt#" where the # is the F key that the menu shows in the upper right corner. I wouldn't be confident enough to shut off the captioning for the radio, though. It tends to mistake JTAC ("jay-tack") with AWACS ("eh-wacks") but it could be my enunciation. Whenever I fly the other aircraft, I use "Opt#" for nearly every radio command. Sure, I lose some immersion but I'm still not reaching for the keyboard. I also made "Goggles On" and "Goggles Off" commands to put my NVGs on and off so I didn't have to reach for those, either. IIRC VAC has a trial offer for 14 days, give it a shot along with Fish's profile. Take a look at his VAC Video thread for more insight.
  16. I use VAC and Fish's profile, it's amazingly immersive! I highly recommend it.
  17. This is the easiest way I've found to do it.
  18. Great information put out in a simple manner. I love it when little details that have been either neglected or taken for granted are pointed out. This is a true tutorial for the layman. Myself and my wingman learned something from both this and the CBU tutorial, and we thought we were fairly proficient. Anxiously awaiting the tutorial on the IFFCC menu!
  19. Mine are the same, all A/C and Beta but we should get the manual and a t-shirt even if we didn't select something else. Like Luthier said, they're working on it, just know you're not alone.
  20. My rewards page seems to be off, as well. From Kickstarter: This was then clarified to "$50 - Everything at the $40 level, plus a custom-designed project backer T-shirt, plus a spiral-bound copy of a complete aircraft manual for the plane of your choice," when discrepancies between the sidebar and the main body were determined and addressed here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/508681281/dcs-wwii-europe-1944/posts/597595?ref=activity I have 6 available flyables but my Rewards indicate 0. I'm assuming I should see at least 1 (choice of manual) or 2 (if you add the T-Shirt not as a default). I'm hoping it's related to Luthier's post and I'll keep my eye on it:
  21. Origins of callsigns can be quite entertaining, this one made me roll! :megalol:
  22. I can see your point about labels and the F10 map, but mods to increase viewing distance over the default settings of the game aren't sacrificing realism. Short of having someone in CA calling and marking targets for you, though, sacrifices for enjoyment of the plane/simulator can be understood.
  23. It's been a while but I seem to remember blowing a few tires on take-off.
  24. You may have to follow the directions on how to "Teach the A-10C" to see the kneeboard shortcuts but for your Su-25T. You may have a keyboard config from prior to the kneeboard, where these shortcuts will not show up.
  25. I think it's funny how actual Warthog jockeys fly their planes with Sharpie modifications while patiently awaiting for the official update from the manufacturer but the flight sim community wants neat and tidy over realistic. I understand the need for aesthetically pleasing flight sims, however. After all, it is the second highest tier of Maslow's pyramid.
