Does the TDC allow you to Press and Slew?
-
Gentlemen, So I am looking down the road and I want to get my Cougar TQS up and running for use with the Viper when its released. Yes...I know its "Two Weeks" away but I hate waiting till the last minute for anything. Soooo... My First question is, does anyone have experience with the the Realsimulator TUSBA TQS R2? It looks like a pretty easy solution but I'd like to hear from someone actually using one. Second...Has anyone in the Modding / Shapeways world come up with a better solution for the Idle and Afterbnurner detents in this throttle than what was originally supplied? The original solution was dodgy at best. Thanks in advance Sierra

DCS: F-16CM Block 50 by EDSA Discussion Thread
Sierra99 replied to NineLine's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Server will just ban any weapons that give Blue an advantage. -
On one hand...I agree with this statement...no matter how cool it would be to have the late latest and greatest tech available to the military available in game...we don't want to give away secrets... Now that being said... I think there are a lot of things people default to "It's Classified" that while truly and honestly classified in the real world...can be simulated in the game quit nicely with giving away a single secret. For example..DCS Simple Radio simulates the KY-58 secure voice system. It simulate the chirps and static and basic operation quite nicely in my opinion having used the real thing during my career...How they are simulating this is as magical to me as the real one...but there is nothing classified about it. They are using unclasssified code to simulate what the real KY-58 does. Nothing more. The same can be done with the radar. We already simulate radar. Our computers aren't creating radio waves in the GHz range and bouncing them around inside the screen looking for targets. It's simulated. There are capabilities associated with the radar that can be simulated just as easily. For example, the fact the F-15 C has NCTR is not a secret. How it " works" in real life is probably classified as hell...but the fact it exists isn't a secret. We can simulate NCTR using code that has nothing to do with how the real system works in the real plane. No security issue. I think the key is what is available open source to work from.

Radar Elevation Control issue when assigning axis
Sierra99 replied to dresoccer4's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
You CAN use an axis...The Slider 1 on a Warthog works just fine. Not sure why the Knob on the end of the throttle isn't working. It may not be an "Axis". -

Radar Elevation Control issue when assigning axis
Sierra99 replied to dresoccer4's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Just out of Curiosity...What happens if you map it to the Up/Down switch on the front between the 2 push buttons and the TDC? -

You can map it to a slider axis. You just have to make sure that is the ONLY place its mapped. -
Which dispense switch? :music_whistling:

Hey guys... Sorry if this has been covered but I can’t find it using search... Has anyone done a basic F-18C front panel drawing in a CNC for At? I’m just looking for the outline. I heard that blowing up the NATOPS drawing 400% works too. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks in advance

" The F-16CJ/DJ Block 50D/52D have the HARM avionics/Launcher Interface Computer (ALIC) resulting in a full autonomous employment capability of the HARM missile. This capability adds the SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) mission to the already extensive list of missions the F-16 is capable to perform. The aircraft features full integration for the advanced AGM-88 HARM II and Shrike anti-radiation missiles, a Lockheed Martin Pave Penny laser ranger pod and the Texas Instruments (now Raytheon) AN/ASQ-213 HTS (HARM Targeting System). The pod is mounted on the starboard intake hardpoint and contains a super-sensitive receiver that detects, classifies, and ranges threats and passes the information to the HARM and to the cockpit displays. With the targeting system, the F-16CJ/DJ has full autonomous HARM capability. The HTS pod can be omitted however - in that case, RC-135 Rivet Joint aircraft support the F-16 in sorting and prioritizing targets in dense threat environments. Two HARM missiles are normally carried on a typical SEAD mission, however, 4-missiles loads are currently being test-flown at Eglin AFB. " http://www.f-16.net/f-16_versions_article9.html

ED is trying to do a better job with the default mappings...this may be a case of WIP. Glad ya got it sorted out.

I just created a mission, Jumped in and taxied in a zip zag pattern down the runway with no issues. It sounds to me like your control mappings are gorked up somehow...and it may not be anything YOU did. I'd recommend deleting the \Users\<NAME>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\a-10a folder and then running a repair. After running the repair, take a moment to go through each page of A-10A input commands and make sure they are not cross mapped. Sometimes things like the "Rudder axis" will be mapped to the rudders AND the throttle... It should fix the issue.

Improved stability and dedicated server - Discussion
Sierra99 replied to NineLine's topic in Multiplayer
" Burning Skies Multiplayer Server For DCS World multiplayer pilots, the Burning Skies server is now testing our new dedicated server technology! This is acting as a test-bed to help us debug the dedicated software with many players participating. The dedicated server will form the backbone of DCS World multiplayer. " Nineline...can you say if the new server is Windows or Linux based? I looked through the threads and cant find an definitive answer...Doesnt mean its NOT been answered...I just cant find it. -

help with server perforemance
Sierra99 replied to Tricky11's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Try changing the following line of the graphic.lua of the server: render3D = true; to render3D = false; ( \Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Config\graphics.lua ) This will turn off the video card rendering saving resources for other game functions -
Hey Skullz I just wanna clarify...a putting this in Saved Games now instead of direct into the game files? Sierra

It sounds daunting but it's actually pretty easy once ya have the basics down. PM me and let me know. -
pre-program waypoints...need help locating file
Sierra99 replied to fitness88's topic in DCS Modding
OK I have a couple of questions... First what Theater? Nevada, Caucasus? Normandy or Persian Gulf? Probably the easiest way would be to use CombatFlite (combatflite.com) to create a template with the NAV pointsyou want to use then add them to the mission. Create the NAV template... Import the DCS MIZ file... Add the CF template... Export the CF file back to a miz. -
I wont buy a fictional map... I WOULD buy Normandy if it was updated to the modern era...
