I don't know how many 600-page technical manuals you have written in your life, but please, do realize that it's not a difficult job to do... it's an INSANELY difficult job to do, even for professionals. Most of the information in the A-10 manual is correct, but there could be a few mistakes here and there. Flagging them is the best we can do.

DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)Charly_Owl replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945 If such projects are to come to fruition, the success or failure of these visions will depend on whether we have a sufficient amount of era-appropriate assets to create a proper theater environment.

DCS: Me 262 Discussion (Development on hold currently)Charly_Owl replied to NineLine's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945 Without Tempests or later variants of the P-51 and Spitfire... I don't think there is much point in having a Me262. And that's coming from a guy who would be absolutely delighted to fly a Me262 in DCS.

I think you're missing the point, Vampire. I don't think anyone is against improving an existing cockpit. We all want nicer, shinier things in our sim. However, I think Rudel's point is valid: there are much deeper issues with the Sabre than just the aging cockpit. The fact that there is no era-specific environment for the Sabre to operate in (at least aircraft and unit-wise) is part of the reason why the module's popularity (including the MiG-15's) has taken a nose dive for the last few years. Having a plane in itself is always nice, but I can't imagine flying any of my WW2 warbirds in a non-WWII setting. There has to be a proper environment for the aircraft to operate in, which is what Rudel is advocating for.

Hi folks, I've been neglecting the Hornet for a few months now, but since I had a little bit of time during February I decided to pick up the slack and bring it up to snuff. I believe more features are planned to be released with the incoming DCS 2.7 version, but I think I'll wait a bit before including them. See first post for link. *** Changelog (4/03/2021): Re-arranged radar section Added GMT radar mode (with relevant Maverick tutorial) Added SEA radar mode (with relevant Harpoon tutorial) Added MGRS Grid Added new JHMCS section Added AZ/EL page functionalities Added Auto IFF Added ECM tutorial Added TXSG (Transmit-Designate) option Corrected Waypoint coordinate entry format Fixed multiple typos and errors *** The page count went from 540 to 620+ pages... but I know it will eventually keep growing as Eagle Dynamics eventually finishes the F/A-18. If you guys still have any suggestions, recommendations or corrections, please let me know.

Would love to if I had time... but I believe that Heclak and Wheelyjoe already created their own pdf guides, which are good. Wouldn't it be a bit like re-inventing the wheel?

Updated the Mirage RWS logic with RAZBAM's latest changes.

Private Messages or the forum boards.

@CBStuCare to elaborate? If I made a mistake, I'll gladly fix it.

@BIGNEWYAn even better solution would be to make these pdfs available in-game while you are flying... kneeboard-style. Ssomething like what ED developed for the P-51 Mustang when presing ESC. The official manuals are great. I still open up the Mi-8 manual from time to time.

Guys, let's keep things chill in here, please.
-
@C3PO Wow, that looks great! You might have to reprint it eventually as I update the Harrier guide with the latest features once they're ironed out by RAZBAM... but that's not for another few months anyhow.

Autopilot or Level flight option at WW2 aircraftCharly_Owl replied to jorgesoo's topic in Wish List A simulated auto-level for WWII fighters does not make sense to me. I understand such a need for helicopters where there is an actual use for it (multiple crew members and gunners). Auto-rudder or takeoff-assist aims to help players that do not have the required hardware (rudder pedals) to compensate for torque, which is understandable. However, for the specific feature of auto-level... just trim the aircraft! That's what those tabs are for. There is a difference between developing features for hardware or simulation limitations and developing features that play the game for you.

I'm afraid not, unfortunately. The best I can do for now is put revision dates.

A new overhauled version of the P-51 Mustang guide is now available! See first post.

Huey guide has been completely overhauled on January 20th. Enjoy!

	Y'a pas de quoi!

Tough to know. I think he meant a training campaign like the L-39 Kursant campaign or the Maple Flag stuff for the A-10. That's the answer that would make the most sense to me, since depriving players of the classic in-cockpit tutorial/training missions is pretty much akin to the devs shooting themselves in the foot.

I think there are much more pressing matters to attend to on the DCS WW2 front than a trainer... especially since the environment we fly in is so barebones. IMHO we need stuff to shoot down / attack first.
