  1. because your Anti-Virus quaraunteen'd the DLLs, run a repair. Then Make the DCS Folder (*technically any game drive*) should be except from Realtime protection. otherwise DCS is bottlenecked by AV software scanning every file as it's being accessed.
  2. Point to G:\Steam\ Subdir's are added automatically as it scans for 2 separate subs.
  3. So says people on discord, that prolly aren't even present at the tables or meetings. ED would not blindly agree to RB's terms for the same reason RB would not be expected to blindly agree to EDs terms. So no one is going "just agree" to everything, and it's been upwards a year since the contract breach per RB, not a month. I kinda want some type of AI to sit in the back seat, when there's no WSO, it can get too quiet.
  4. if a company is still operating they have the ownership of their IP. if a company is closed and no longer operating IP shifts to Escrow, unless they have a contract to sell or transfer it before they end operations. no company would willingly sign a contract with such a blanket and undefined clause that allows another company to take their IP so easily. RB as a company isn't on a operational pause, they are still working on projects for other sims, they are on a development pause for DCS Projects until their contract issue is resolved.
  5. Erm, Military contracts often eclipse consumer sales if done properly, if anything it ensures survival of dev studios. As for Studios shutting doors, That would likely fall under the *No longer able to fulfill their support* clause, in which case, assets / IP would shift to ED for retention. The situation with RB is a complicated and different situation, as they arent shutting doors, they are simply on a development pause, in which case, the Assets / IP clause doesn't apply.
  6. 509 is set in the mission editor by choosing the helmet setup, In the screenshot I posted earlier, and overrides any line in the LUA.
  7. There's 2. RB Says ED with held the sales shares. ED Says RB Breached contract which led to the sales shares being with held. Technically there's already admission of non-payment, so ED just has to show the breach of contract.
  8. Technically, if all the rumors on the breach are true, and it went to court, not only would RB Lose, but they would have to forfeit the source to ED per the contract terms, as it's no longer voluntary end of support, rather a constructive termination of support due to terms being breached. I can go all in with a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo, but I have more important projects that require my time than to go down the rabbit hole of rumors and outcomes. lol
  9. the team that did S.A. is also operating independently, It was released under R.B. but the map and source is with the team that's not part of R.B.
  10. S.A. is developed by a separate team.
  11. Contrary to the twitter-sphere theory, it's more likely that RB ran out of capital to pay the employees to keep working while waiting to resolve the issue and get their sales shares, than it is ED ran out of money. which would be better aligned with why "they suddenly stopped working". etc etc. rumors are everywhere and they do no good... if I had a dime for every rumor I've heard, I could prolly pay RB' #JustSayin
  12. Please take the moderation dispute private, posts are soft deleted and can be viewed/restored by mods at any time, so it's not like it's gone and they have no record of what was said. Darn internet delay, lol.
  13. is that argument network synced? *edit, all of the helmet args are synced, problem is with mission setting, helmet args and a few sqn / country args are overridden by the mission after loading.
  14. You answered your own question: Games that are being sold on Steam that are no longer supported are no longer being worked on, so you know for sure that something that works now will still work in a year from now, or 5 years from now (unless a newer version of Windows breaks compatibility). It's that the same scenario as what I just said? Windows O/S is a ever evolving product as well. Right now the modules still work, you have no way of knowing if an update will break them, just as much as you have no way of knowing if a windows update would break EOL software. *(and yes it Happens A-LOT). which is also why most power users, run older versions of Windows in a VM environment, which is also the same as running 2 separate installations.
  15. As a gamer and a developer (*for other games other than DCS.). I can tell you the cost of a module is fantastically priced compared to some sports titles that use the same core for 10 years, and charge it's fanbase $70 for yearly patches and roster updates.
  16. Not rude at all, especially for the MP Scene.
  17. As far as credits: F-15E is still early access, with future support in negotiations, which is reasonable to ask for refunds, due to uncertainty that advertised features would be finished. AV-8B, M-200C, MiG-19, and S.A. are listed as feature complete, so not likely to get any sort of compensation for them, They are fully operational modules, regardless of updates breaking them in the future, updates arent mandatory for the end user. *(though it's complicated due to most users wanting to use the aircraft in multi-player)
  18. Just to be clear, I'm neutral, as I'm not involved with either side legally, *(Ie, I don't get paid by either company), I am a consumer like everyone else. But just wanna emphasize some things: ED doesn't write checks to the RB Employees or 1099s, that's RB's responsibility, which obviously hasn't been full filled due to contract breach halting payments from ED to RB. So the halt is not on ED entirely, RB made the decision to keep working during negotiations as long as they could without pay from their employer, RB. So for future reference, for anyone to question RB Employees at this point is moot, they worked for months without pay, so far the employees and subcontractors are the heroes of this story for working as long as they could with bills piling up. There is no "Blame" to pass around and point fingers. RB operated with no Pay, ED Paused payments for breach of contract. Both sides are entitled to make those operational choices and decisions. Metal2Mesh is a separate company sub contracted by RB. Any work still being done w/ Laser scanning etc, was likely to be used for more than just DCS, if anything, their own portfolio. This is not true at all, which is the mis-information because of discord and poorly moderated comments by in said discord.
  19. the G Limiter switch was fixed.
  20. Do you know how many games are listed on MS Store and Steam that arent supported no more by the developer studio w/ no disclaimer? You're taking something that's common place every where, and using it to demonize ED.
  21. can only be set in mission editor. C
  22. ED cant just take down products because of opinions, Agreement has to be made by both ED and RB to take them off the e-Shop, Steam and even RB's own website. p.s. M-200C works, AV-8B Works, MiG-19 Works, South Atlantic Works, F-15E Works (in EA State). So there is no "Unusable Modules" Currently. p.p.s. the 6 G Limiter did not make the M-2000C Unusable, it gimped it sure, but it was still very much deployable.
  23. Helmet Equipment Argument is set by the mission, When they place the aircraft you have the option of HMD, Night Vision, None for Helmet Equipment.
  24. Correction: 2nd Party is what Belsimtek was before they were re-integrated back into Eagle Dynamics. Licensed 3rd Party is RB, HB, etc etc. A-4E Team is Unlicensed 3rd Party
