Contrary to the twitter-sphere theory, it's more likely that RB ran out of capital to pay the employees to keep working while waiting to resolve the issue and get their sales shares, than it is ED ran out of money. which would be better aligned with why "they suddenly stopped working". etc etc. rumors are everywhere and they do no good... if I had a dime for every rumor I've heard, I could prolly pay RB' #JustSayin -

Please take the moderation dispute private, posts are soft deleted and can be viewed/restored by mods at any time, so it's not like it's gone and they have no record of what was said. Darn internet delay, lol. -
Custom argument [509] HGU-55 Helmet in multiplayer that isnt synched.
SkateZilla replied to JOHNCHIU's topic in F-16C
is that argument network synced? *edit, all of the helmet args are synced, problem is with mission setting, helmet args and a few sqn / country args are overridden by the mission after loading. -

You answered your own question: Games that are being sold on Steam that are no longer supported are no longer being worked on, so you know for sure that something that works now will still work in a year from now, or 5 years from now (unless a newer version of Windows breaks compatibility). It's that the same scenario as what I just said? Windows O/S is a ever evolving product as well. Right now the modules still work, you have no way of knowing if an update will break them, just as much as you have no way of knowing if a windows update would break EOL software. *(and yes it Happens A-LOT). which is also why most power users, run older versions of Windows in a VM environment, which is also the same as running 2 separate installations. -

As a gamer and a developer (*for other games other than DCS.). I can tell you the cost of a module is fantastically priced compared to some sports titles that use the same core for 10 years, and charge it's fanbase $70 for yearly patches and roster updates.- 7013 replies

As far as credits: F-15E is still early access, with future support in negotiations, which is reasonable to ask for refunds, due to uncertainty that advertised features would be finished. AV-8B, M-200C, MiG-19, and S.A. are listed as feature complete, so not likely to get any sort of compensation for them, They are fully operational modules, regardless of updates breaking them in the future, updates arent mandatory for the end user. *(though it's complicated due to most users wanting to use the aircraft in multi-player) -

Just to be clear, I'm neutral, as I'm not involved with either side legally, *(Ie, I don't get paid by either company), I am a consumer like everyone else. But just wanna emphasize some things: ED doesn't write checks to the RB Employees or 1099s, that's RB's responsibility, which obviously hasn't been full filled due to contract breach halting payments from ED to RB. So the halt is not on ED entirely, RB made the decision to keep working during negotiations as long as they could without pay from their employer, RB. So for future reference, for anyone to question RB Employees at this point is moot, they worked for months without pay, so far the employees and subcontractors are the heroes of this story for working as long as they could with bills piling up. There is no "Blame" to pass around and point fingers. RB operated with no Pay, ED Paused payments for breach of contract. Both sides are entitled to make those operational choices and decisions. Metal2Mesh is a separate company sub contracted by RB. Any work still being done w/ Laser scanning etc, was likely to be used for more than just DCS, if anything, their own portfolio. This is not true at all, which is the mis-information because of discord and poorly moderated comments by in said discord. -

Do you know how many games are listed on MS Store and Steam that arent supported no more by the developer studio w/ no disclaimer? You're taking something that's common place every where, and using it to demonize ED. -

ED cant just take down products because of opinions, Agreement has to be made by both ED and RB to take them off the e-Shop, Steam and even RB's own website. p.s. M-200C works, AV-8B Works, MiG-19 Works, South Atlantic Works, F-15E Works (in EA State). So there is no "Unusable Modules" Currently. p.p.s. the 6 G Limiter did not make the M-2000C Unusable, it gimped it sure, but it was still very much deployable. -

Helmet Equipment Argument is set by the mission, When they place the aircraft you have the option of HMD, Night Vision, None for Helmet Equipment. -

Correction: 2nd Party is what Belsimtek was before they were re-integrated back into Eagle Dynamics. Licensed 3rd Party is RB, HB, etc etc. A-4E Team is Unlicensed 3rd Party -
Windows 10 is still fully supported by DCS, Also confirmed by Dev. Windows 10 has ~70% of the O/S Market share, removing support for it at this stage would be illogical, Considering moving to only Supporting 11, Adds nothing to the sim. As for Intel and 13/14 Gen and P-Cores and E-Cores, they don't work as they should even on Windows 11, it's not a DCS Problem, it's a global driver / OS Scheduler problem. As for Liveries, If it were up to me, which it's not. I'd add Liveries section into the updater categories, then, convert every Livery name to to [AIRCRAFT NAME][NATION][LIVERY NAME] Naming Scheme, as well as give Every Livery a module_id, ie F14A_USN_VF103. So when a new Aircraft is put into coremods, it would be the shape files, AI files, and the default textures. Liveries should be placed in \Mods\Liveries\{Aircraft Name}\ Folders. Thus, decreasing update sizes, etc, Having Module ID's and Liveries separate, will also allow servers to prompt "Module: [AIRCRAFT NAME][NATION][LIVERY NAME] is required to join this server. This should also extend to User-Files, Give each user Files Livery a Hash ID, technically every uploaded file is assigned a content ID already anyway. Have the Manager access User Files and populate those liveries, even if as a separate section.
-
For every user saying there's too many liveries, there's a user saying there aren't enough. It's Catch-22. That being said, any solution would require extensive re-work of the textures core and modules *(how and what they download). Having the option to delete CoreMods for jets you know you'll never need, maybe the best solution, but there's always going to be a case of MP Textures Required, etc.

Just to give everyone a heads up, there will be a huge-ish update this month, depending on a few life variables, testing, if not June, definitely July.. I will attach preliminary change log so far from last public build until now, in order (top is older, bottom is newest changes):

Look, I'm a consumer like everyone else, so I'm not on any side's other than my own, which is the side of using the F-15E for the considerable future As for MP, it wouldn't work. -

By that argument, MS and Steam should remove a lot of listings because the developer and publishers are gone. They also shouldn't be listing things like Falcon4.0, because the build they are hosting was a grossly incomplete build prior to the service packs. If you Buy M2K or F-15E, they work on the builds that are still available, future updates may break modules in an unsupported state, however, updates are optional, if/when that time comes. There is also the stipulation regarding declaration of early Early Access, as well as EULA. -
You can edit their size and location in the monitor configuration lua.

Contractual disputes are rarely if ever solved in a weekend, especially because most companies do not have legal departments and support teams that work weekends, in the USA, required documents to be notarized etc etc, can only be done Monday->Friday, as required establishments to do so are usually closed on weekends, as are most law firms. "Now it's two months later", Allow me to correct that statement, as According to RB & RB Devs, It's ongoing for about a year now. *Exact date was never disclosed, however RB has stated it's going on 10+ months. when it became public.* Considering the amount of information made public by RB, and the Sum in the Amount of being "The High 6 Figures" it's not a small claim that can be settled over a bottle of Dr. Pepper and some Oreos. That information is just what RB has disclosed, the validity of those numbers I cannot 100% guarantee, so take it at face value.
