Let's hope indeed. We very seldom get comments from the developers. At least let's hope that they read this posts. From my side, I got fed up playing free of charge beta-tester, especially considering the great amount of money I have invested in Terrains and planes.

You said it! Exactly my thoughts! :thumbup: That's why I stopped using DCS for the moment. Only the gods know why they released a "release" 2.5, and THEN a "beta" 2.5.2 :cry: Great / best sim, but VERY chaotic development roadmap....

Yes, that is what i do since years for all planes. Once an update for dcs world comes, it overwrites the modifieds files, but creates a “backup” folder in which the modified files are, and not just the souund ones. Then you merge the files of the backup with the fresh ones, overwritting them. Easy- peasy.

For me the problem has never been performance, but the disastrous night / dusk cockpit lightning...

I agree, and do see the potential of deferred shading. BUT... Not "maybe has been pushed to release a bit too early" Instead: MOST CERTAINLY the major engine update has been pushed to release FAR too early and in a rushed, erroneous and incomplete manner, killing the cockpits and a lot of other stuff, especially at night.

I find that pointless is this discussions with you, sir. I won't install that 2.5.1, I got fed up of playing beta - tester for paid products, I have been doing it for years now. I will wait for 2.5.2 or whatever is called release, hopefully with the sorted out problems of night / cockpit lightning as showed in the F-18 and Persian Gulf.

Just read the posts.... Please point me out to whose that describe a "significant improvement in almost every way on the release version" ... I could find only a couple of them, but a lot of negative ones, and the people that wrote them are most certainly not stupid.....

Well, at the moment I'm forced to remind you that it seems that it is a disaster-beta. Although I haven't done me the masochistic harm of installing it myself, since the release of that 2.5.1 I have been reading thoroughly the posts in this forums, and the overwhelming majority of them are very much full of disappointment and frustration. Very odd also the fact that this 2.5.1 beta comes after the "release" version 2.5.0. I am very curious if the the F-18 and the Persian Gulf map will be released for a "release" version (2.5.2?). Both which look fantastic with DFS on, I must admit. But this quality should be implemented to all modules and maps. And Ia am not speaking about the free ones, but the ones for which we have paid literally hundreds of dollars.

Let‘s only hope that they will fix all this as they are doing for the F-18 and the Persian Gulf. At the moment, I repeat, msalama, a disaster. Sooooo happy that I am running release version 2.5.0 at the moment, deferred shading off.
