  1. Could not agree more....
  2. A few other people’s ? Alot of them, all wrong, in your opinion. "give us all a rest" Give YOU a rest, other people do agree with me, even in this very same thread. But indeed, I will give YOU a rest, unsubscribing from this post, and leaving you in peace. bye.
  3. I find that pointless is this discussions with you, sir. I won't install that 2.5.1, I got fed up of playing beta - tester for paid products, I have been doing it for years now. I will wait for 2.5.2 or whatever is called release, hopefully with the sorted out problems of night / cockpit lightning as showed in the F-18 and Persian Gulf.
  4. Just read the posts.... Please point me out to whose that describe a "significant improvement in almost every way on the release version" ... I could find only a couple of them, but a lot of negative ones, and the people that wrote them are most certainly not stupid.....
  5. Well, at the moment I'm forced to remind you that it seems that it is a disaster-beta. Although I haven't done me the masochistic harm of installing it myself, since the release of that 2.5.1 I have been reading thoroughly the posts in this forums, and the overwhelming majority of them are very much full of disappointment and frustration. Very odd also the fact that this 2.5.1 beta comes after the "release" version 2.5.0. I am very curious if the the F-18 and the Persian Gulf map will be released for a "release" version (2.5.2?). Both which look fantastic with DFS on, I must admit. But this quality should be implemented to all modules and maps. And Ia am not speaking about the free ones, but the ones for which we have paid literally hundreds of dollars.
  6. I understand your feelings completely, and fully agree.
  7. Let‘s only hope that they will fix all this as they are doing for the F-18 and the Persian Gulf. At the moment, I repeat, msalama, a disaster. Sooooo happy that I am running release version 2.5.0 at the moment, deferred shading off.
  8. Also my thinking....
  9. Yes, of course that too..... All considered and in my opinion, DS off was better, especially considering that a real simmer spends 95% of the time in the cockpit. For the time being, reading the posts in this forum, it seems that 2.5.1, in this respect at least, is still a disaster Let's hope that they fix this, and anyway, for the time being, it's DS off and release version 2.5 for me...
  10. Exactly so.... You nailed it!
  11. For that very reason, sooooooo happy I am staying with the release version for now, of course with DS off... until (if) they sort it out....
  12. Well I tried that, but not really..... Prepare mission> then in the mission, Switched the map to off, countermeasures to off, ILS frequency to 110.10, flood light off. Exit to ME, saved the mission, loaded the mission again, but none of those parameters were saved. Map was on, countermeasures on, ILS frequency to 108.95, flood light on. A-10-Complete.zip
  13. Well, I used to have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, (wich is no hotas by the way) and I used to combine CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, WIN tastes together with the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro,buttons, even with the coolie hat... But now I have the CH PRO system, (see signature) and it is far better.... Much more possibilities.
  14. Exactly this. And moreover, one can not save a mission with all the parameters already set, as you could do in FSX. For example, already set ILS frequencies, chaff flare programs, etc. There is at least one thread about that in this forum: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=162243
  15. I am no newbie in DCS, and I know perfectly well all you wrote. What I meant is changing the livery and the weather in FSX was far more user friendly than in DCS. I did not have to "Look up sunrise in Georgia/Russia on that given date" to set dusk or dawn, and I could change the livery on the fly without closing the mission, instead of going to the me > change the livery > restarting the mission. THAT is what I am talking about. Anyway, not important. forget it.
  16. You're welcome. )70... hmmmm Not with the settings maxed out...
  17. I absolutely agree  And not only for VR. That's why I am staying with 2.5 release until they sort things out......
  18. I will get used to it if they fix the huge issues with the unusable cockpits, especially at night.. Until then, it's 2.5 release without DS for me.
  19. Yes, and also no way to change the weather, or the plane. FSX was ridiculous and primitive compared to DCS, but you could do that, and almost instantly. Also, you could set "dusk" and "dawn" and "night" in DCS is always a guesswork in the ME if one wants the time to be dusk or dawn....... Also, one can not save a mission with all the parameters already set, as you could do in FSX. There is somewhere a thread about that in this forum.
  20. 2560x1600 is OK. I have edited the CommandMenu.lua as follows, to make the font bigger. local fontSize = 18 local fontSizeCaption = 18 local menuCaptionHeight = 30
  21. Since AGES we are providing constructive feedback for the Devs...... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=202460 I haven't tested that 2.5.1, but it seems that the issue with the cockpits, (again where we spend 95% of the DCS time), especially at night / dusk is STILL not resolved.....
  22. I could not agree more. Exactly so. It seems that a lot of people, including the graphics responsables of ED and other 3rd party developers are giving a whole lot of importance to the landscapes, explosions, clouds etc, in detriment of the place where we spend 95% of the time, the cockpits!
  23. Nope also here... Yet another bug of the DCS ATC, which gets neglected since years....
  24. I am sooooo happy using the release version right now, which can not be updated to 2.5.1. of course with DS OFF. Let's hope that they will sort that FUNDAMENTAL, ESSENTIAL ISSUE out of the useless dusk / night cockpits with DS on, (2.5.2?) because it is exactly as you say, thrustvector, the pit is where we spend most of our time!
