  1. I just spent my $50 on this map and am seriously dissatisfied. I didn’t realize that Dubai only had 12 different office building and maybe as many apartment building designs. And everything is painted in about 5 pastel colors. Is this what Dubai really looks like or is this just that portly done?
  2. Well done. What is that purple spring on the joystick base? Looks pretty hefty.
  3. Yea, the people that say VR is just a fad have never put one on and gone for a flight, or drive, or just stood there in a heavily modded Skyrim and took it all in.
  4. I just cleaned. greased, and modded my Pro Flight rudder pedals. But I would rather have the combat pedals. I know someone did a mod to try to replicate the combat pedals but the fulcrum point is all wrong. I'm hoping someone has a non-functional set of combat pedals they might want to sell.
  5. I had considered modding the frame. But because it’s modular then once that’s done the seat looses its resale value. So far all I’ve done is add a couple of holes to re-position the Fanatec pedals and mount the seat. I was hoping to make a pair of narrower pedals for the TPR so as not to affect its resale value.
  6. What a Maroon... I was sharing my disappointment with my wife. So she says “Why don’t you just turn the chair to the side like you do for Skyrim?” I’m so used to facing forward in my rig for flying and driving that it never occurred to me that I don’t have to face forward. All the controls I need for DCS are mounted to the chair, not the frame. How stable are the pedals? Will I need to do a mount? Obviously can’t have them permanently mounted in the middle of the room.
  7. For me it happens in the A-10c when I’m looking at about 2 and 10, catching the edge of the anti-collision lights.
  8. That’s what I figured. So glad I didn’t hit the buy button. I need to check the width of the Slaw Viper pedals. EDIT: Nope, 21”. I may have to make a set of pendular pedals. Or check on modding my chair. Damn...
  9. Any owners that can help answer a question? The short of it is that the pedals are about 3.5" too wide for my setup. It looks like the pedals themselves are wider than they "need" to be. Does there seem to be any room for modification to take out 4" of width?
  10. Either turn on the lights in the room or re-configure your seated boundary. I always start DCS from the cliffhouse.
  11. I call dibs on it when you upgrade!
  12. It seems that the only things that will bind in the snap view settings is the x, y, and z translations. The v, h, and roll angles won’t bind. So I set up a view aligned with and a little behind and a little above the CDU. I can just look down a little and have a perfect view. I’m going to set up a couple of more views and bind them to a little 4 switch button box attached to the bottom of the throttle housing. I’ll probably change VR zoom to a snap view as well.
  13. Is this possible? The MFDs have it but not the CDU that I can find.
  14. I would just like to be able to zoom in on the CDU to create waypoints and missions more easily. Is there a zoom feature for this in VR?
  15. How difficult could this fix be? Just turn off the switch to the hanger when the F10 map is opened. It doesn't do it when escaping out to change settings or looking at the briefing page so why with the F10 map?
  16. I thought I had installed DCS on the laptop. Just did it last night. I set the options to VR and had to raise PD to 1.2 to remove the shimmering. I only used the T-51 so I didn’t have to move modules over. It ran at a steady 45 FPS both single player and online. I was sort of surprised by this. I was in the aerobatic server because it’s the only one I could find that allows the T-51. I would have tried the SU-25 but I don’t know how to start it and couldn’t find the auto start cheat. There was some slow down into the teens when I did an F2 view of 3 F-18s taxiing to the runway in a group. I imagine a lower res headset would work pretty well with this machine and you may even be able to turn more eye candy on.
  17. I just bought an Acer laptop that has a full GTX1060 video card, i7-8750H CPU, 16Gb of ram and an m.2 SSD for under $1000 bucks. I got it to do SkyrimVR modding but found it's quite capable of running my O+ surprisingly well. I haven't played DCS on it yet but will give it a try tonight.
  18. No hardware IPD. What? So close yet so far.
  19. I'm waiting for this. https://uploadvr.com/samsung-wide-fov-patent/ Maybe by Christmas?
  20. The room does not have to be all that lit up. I have a 60 watt equivalent LED lamp with a white shade in the corner of a 12'x12' room and never have any issues. The cooler thing I've found about inside-out tracking is that it works outside with a laptop strapped to my back and a 100' extension cord. I don't think I can play Onward inside anymore. I realized this after my 24'x30' garage started feeling a little restrictive to play in. I would like to see the addition of a couple more cameras on the unit for a more expansive controller tracking area though.
  21. One of the great things with vehicle seats is that the covers are made to be removable and replaceable. Usually just plastic seam joints and hog rings. Cut the hog rings and replace them with small cable ties. The cloth seats handle the washer and dryer just fine.
  22. An automobile or truck seat works well. I had a seat from a minivan for a while and now have a seat from a HD truck. Both seats had movable headrests and armrests; and could move forwards and backward. The truck seat also can rotate, has multiple position armrest, adjustable 3 zone lumbar as well as adjustable kidney and seat bottom bolsters. It’s the bomb. The armrests are great because you can attach controllers and such to them and move them out of the way when not in use.
  23. Good for you. Nice setup! I incorporated my flight sim into my nextgen chair. Works great as a dual setup and takes up less room.
  24. I use the TM:WH with a 4” homemade extension and 1 of the coils removed from the big spring. I just cut 1 loop off and the heated the coil to make the new top loop flat again. Works great. I’m working on a cyclic that attaches to the WH’s throttle. Still in the design stage.
  25. I have a Logitech T-650 touchpad mounted in front of my throttle. It’s configured for left click, right click, and scroll wheel. Plus I mapped general functions to the WH HOTAS. I never have to touch the keyboard or mouse (or peek under the HMD) when flying.
