Concerning Number-Pad #5 Default Centered View
DieHard replied to DieHard's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I now have my new Numpad #5 FOV view the way I want it. If I lose it due to me being stupid (wife likes to call me a heavy-handed meathead when I am all thumbs), I want numbers to establish that same position instead of kind-of-getting-it-the-way-I-had-it... I have a virgin copy of the Spit, right out of the box sitting in my OpenBeta. I didn't touch it. As a point of reference. See: === C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\SpitfireL FMkIX\views.lua (I play it safe and just use Notepad to take a look, not Notepad++ ) My Spit I use to custom setup, is on a SSD and that directory is randomly labeled M: , so I should be able to compare the virgin copy to my custom setup. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I see no difference in that .lua file between the virgin copy and my custom setup >>> the numbers are the same. -
Concerning Number-Pad #5 Default Centered View
DieHard replied to DieHard's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
No actual position location numbers (x, y, z, etc.) as suggested by this thread Message #2 for the custom Snap Views or the Number Pad #5 key. When I set a view or want the #5 default position, there should be numbers as to the particular cockpit view, I would think. See this thread, Message #5 and compare his mod (Message #1) to what is there already. Only one number has changed, bottom of listing. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=179501&highlight=default+cockpit+view Thank you. Cheers -
(re: Message #1) Somebody will create a clean-glass cockpit as a mod. Still a bit early for Spit mods, yet. Keep an eye on the User Files newbies. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/

Where does the centered default view (.lua) script reside for the Spitfire IX ? Want the out-of-the-box, 1st look, number location values >>> for the Number Pad #5 key. Setting up views I screwed up, messing up the default state in-cockpit location . I realize I can reset it. Where does its location reside in the scripts?

Spitfire better than P-51D for online matches?
DieHard replied to TripRodriguez's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Depends on the pilot and depends on the computer setup in PC-land and on-line how you are connected and with whom. Spitfire is still in development and will be for awhile. -

Posting to this forum as you guys get a lot of daily traffic here. Need a quick response. Met a guy here in town that we both used to play the WWII air combat sim Aces High II. We probably used to fight each other 10 years ago... and didn't know we were both in town. Want to introduce him to the DCS P-51D as a gift. How do I do this? What is the procedure? How do I transfer the license to him? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh, yeah, guys--------------Happy New Year!

Found this on a Facebook machinist museum site. This pertains to Axis WWII aircraft production, and later... (F-15) : http://atomictoasters.com/2012/02/big-complicated-machines-9-the-fifty/

"Cannot load manual!" "Error:can't open ''./Mods/aircraft/SpitfireLFMkIX/Doc/Manual/manual.txt.lua' " /Manual/manual.txt.lua ------ does not exist, yet! How do I add a .pdf Spitfire manual to the in-game MANUAL utility, when I press the Escape key? [ (In-Game : Instant Action ; Takeoff (training setup) ]

Still no mirror. If there is no intention to implement a mirror, why the command availability? Bf-109K4 and Fw-190 = RWin+n

(re: Message #1) I'm not worried. Depends on who(m) I am flying against. In real life, you cartoon combat aces probably would not last 30 seconds in a real metal to metal dogfight against a real ace. Question is, how do real aces compare to fighting against cartoon aces? The WWII MP servers usually have just a handful of guys playing, ever, anytime EXCEPT when a new plane release comes out for a couple weeks. Then, afterwards, everything goes back to normal and just a few dedicated WWII guys are around in MP. I have all the DCS WWII birds. And DCS has the best WWII cartoon fighter aircraft, anywhere! But I prefer my copters in MP.

I fly the Huey mainly on the 1.5.5 build in MP using Buddyspike and even better on the 2.0 Nevada build with the F99th guys for supply drops using Huey and Mi-8. Replied earlier, but deleted post, thought I read Ka-50 was your newbie. I'm pretty good in the Ka-50 as is Cooper. 99% of my flying time is using Multiplayer. I don't like the SP missions and campaigns trying to satisfy the pre-ordained objectives that have to be accomplished in a certain order before moving to the next objective. I like the fluidity in real time like real combat is. Re: Message #3---Thanks.
