Chief1942, Never heard of Fraps before. Well, at least I can see my fps in real time and not need to use a magnifying glass. Thanks for the tip.

(re: Message #4) That's what I think I need to do, too. I just need to know what file to alter. I'll give it a few days here, see what happens. If not, I'll send in a Support ticket to the developers off this page, (http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/) . Thanks for the replies.

Upper left corner of my monitor displays the Frame Rate Counter and Service Info RCtrl + Pause >>> On / Off How can I double the size of the lettering to read it better? Thanks in advance for any help.

Me, too! Same situation in the OpenBeta 1.5.3.50355 I think I used up two activations. 2.0 OpenAlpha did the process one time, seems to be OK, today, just the one time reactivating has sufficed. I used one activation. I seem to be OK, currently 1.5.2.49392 I will give this a shot (see Message #1 top of this thread) : ===================================== http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=136153

Control stiffening makes this thing flyable.
DieHard replied to BFBunny's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yes, I think it locks up; don't know the aeronautical engineering term. To get out of it rig an engine kill---on / off switch and full right or left rudder and opposite aileron to dramatically sideslip to kill energy. Might also play around with manual prop feathering. Don't know if shockwave actually hits the elevator hinge at sub-sound barrier limit, but I suspect it. It might be speed of sound shockwave as the air moves over it. Compression? -
I setup ground trim in SPECIAL for the 109. Adjusted the slider for the aileron only and turned on the 2 auto items, one at 100% and it flies really nice in Single Player / Instant Action / Takeoff. I tried this same setup on the ACG and DoW MP servers in 1.5.2 and its all screwed up. I'm guessing they disable it to have a more even playing field. Well, my pitch curve still is nice and balanced and I can adjust pitch trim very nicely done in-flight with a joystick rotary control on both the MP servers. So, will now try to get the aileron roll curve nicely setup.

Well, some topics seem to be off limits: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159865 An all guys tool & die shop I worked once, we had a lady journeyman, 1st Class machinist, US Navy trained, come in for a few months. She knew the tradecraft pretty good and took no crap from the guys.

Why aren't there today any real good joysticks?
DieHard replied to FlightControl's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
+1 Same for me, I have the 3 amigos, mine are around 6 years old, use them almost every day. I purchased them from their company, not a distributor, online. Some old timer to the "Aces High" sim told me, "the last joystick you will ever need to buy" . I don't program myself, but I use a couple of Crunch's creations and I am sure you and Bob helped him along with his .map 's . -
How many DCS simmers out of the total purchasers fly in (MP) Multiplayer? I bet it isn't even half.
-
(re: Message #1) Get 'em all! LOL! I got most of them. I bought the Ka-50 1st when it was still an all Russian scripted lettering within the cockpit. I put that aside until the Engish mod came out, and bought the A-10C. I sim flew only the Ka-50 for 3 years. I taught myself. One heck of a learning experience. I met Cooper (username), later on Devilman's server, Cooper is the guy to fly with to learn good habits quickly. Lately been flying the WWII planes, most of the time the German planes because they usually are outnumbered by the Mustangs. If you get a Mustang, fly with the Dogs-of-War squad in MP. I spend 95% of my time on the Multiplayer (MP) servers. I bought the CH Products gear of Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals about 6 or so years ago when I was still with the Aces High sim, and they are still like new, about $450 for the three, then. I still don't use any deadzone. I planted them firmly down with Velcro tape on their bottoms to my home office desk setup.

I would love to see a clickable version of the Su-25T, on par with the A-10C. For me, the FC3 and Su-25T freebie, there are too many Options/Controls key commands to remember that don't get mapped. I have the FC3 module and the freebie but don't play them just for that reason. I like point and click.

I have played a few different WWII sims over the years, beginning with my Commodore 64, LOL! DCS is the hardest to relearn. Like having a stroke, then relearning to tie my shoe strings again, like that. I can have the 109 down real good---takeoffs and landings. Switch to 190 or P-51, fly those for awhile, come back to the 109 and have to relearn my takeoffs and landings. Same goes switching between the 190 and P-51. I don't mind, I really enjoy the copters and WWII birds in DCS. Best there is of the sims I have tried including FSX. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm not much of a world traveler but I bet it would be fun, us guys, different countries, all get together some big air show somewhere and shoot the bull.

Here you go: ========= Interesting, Lock-On files will not link here. So Google via long hand (maybe) : Fw 190 D-9 Dora Audio Production 4.0 Mod 4.0 by Diveplane https://www.google.com/search?q=Google+search+http%3A%2F%2Fwww.****************%2Ffiles%2Ffile%2F3007-fw-190-d-9-dora-audio-production-40-mod%2F&rlz=1C1BOHD_enUS487US526&oq=Google+search+http%3A%2F%2Fwww.****************%2Ffiles%2Ffile%2F3007-fw-190-d-9-dora-audio-production-40-mod%2F&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i64.25726j0j8&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

They function fine, I use them all the time---full on. The reset switch for the UV gauges panel lights circuit breaker needs to be depressed to be on. Not sure the push button switches are true circuit breakers... My take on this plane it is a very simple design not too much advanced from the WW I planes, nothing like the 190 or P-51. Of the 3 WWII birds, 109 is my favorite, so far. In a pinch I find the light from my cell phone suffices ;^) Would be nice to see a NVG mod cheat JSGME inserted into the gaming code...

I found a post by another player that recommended his custom curve setup to mimic a neutral trimmed aircraft at cruise speed. I cannot find the post message to thank him. AXIS_CONTROLS Check Slider ON Check Curves ON for "Y" = 0, 5, 12, 21, 32, 40, 45, 59, 74, 88, 100 I have CH Products Fighterstick using the CH Control Manager in Direct Mode This works really nice for me. The 109 flies stable now! Whoever you are >>> THANKS

+1 Good tip! Thanks

(re: Message #1) I create a Snap-View (LWin + 0 to 9), centered, front cockpit glass, zoomed to maximum and map it to a joystick button. Some servers do not allow LAlt + F1. You can also create one unzoomed or whatever you want. Save your views "angles" with RAlt + Num 0 I also create an alternate "Iron Sight" for when my illuminated target reticule gets damaged. Get creative, find a work-around... I am not using TrackIR.

How To Adjust Aileron Trim Within the 2.0.1 OpenAlpha?
DieHard replied to DieHard's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Thanks for the reply. -
My Bf-109 flies a little bit lopsided in the OpenAlpha, Burning Skies server. Is there a way to adjust the presets for aileron trim within the 2.0.1 program? If so, how is this accomplished? I'm looking for a balanced aircraft flying at cruise speed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (a little bit later... ) Is that what the trim sliding scales are for, for the 109 in the SPECIAL section of Options \ Special ? I bet that is what those are for. Guess, I'll be experimenting. I have never used the cheats before, other than for quick startup. My CH Products Fighterstick has one each: X and Y potentiometer adjustment wheels. I have never moved them off their zero indent. Was thinking about trying that out. Well, I will try the sliders first. I still would like to know if there are adjustable presets for the trim within the program.

DCS 1.5.2.49392 upgrade and now can't fly K-4
DieHard replied to illwind's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/ http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/index.php Go through the process. The people at DCS have always come through for me in about 8 separate issues since I joined in 2011. My latest issue, but not your issue stated above, they directed me to a fix within my Windows registry. They answered me in less than 24 hours with the solution. -
My main ride for 2 or 3 years was only the Ka-50, though lately I am distracted with the WWII era German side planes and mission. What I like, and rarely find, is, two sides like Blue vs Red and mission objectives to an end of one side wins over the other as a team thing. Like 104th server I can fly Ka-50 to kill points at various waypoints, but it just concerns the Ka-50 while the jet jocks are dogfighting each other. The Dogs of War server guys (WWII era) do mission objectives Blue vs Red. I used to fly the Ka-50 in the same scenario with Cooper and Devilman on his Tasmanian server but I have not found their server up since the 2.0 Alpha started up. Most likely I am not on when they are. I will stop by with my copter and see what you guys are doing.
-
If I use MW-50 wide open I am fine. Once MW-50 is turned off, there is a rpm limit too high that will cause black smoke trail. Drop rpm, do not go over limit.
-
Manual control override works great. I have found no way to return to the automatic mode once I implement manual control. Like I said, my eyes are glued to my instruments panel as glance views, I watch my gauges.
-
In game I run higher ATA numbers on both 109 and 190. I use the MW-50 boost. Ask NetMan from DoW server how effective it is him trying to catch me. Is possible to blow the engine if left on too long. What the real-life German pilots said they do in real life compared to in-game, my experience in-game, doesn't apply. The info is a place to start from to work with. I looked at all the Options' Controls listing and experiment trying things as to what works fairly well in a dogfight situation. There are work-arounds.
