All 4 versions of DCS World: OpenAlpha, OpenBeta, Release, and 1.2.16 has this feature. Where is the mirror? What's up? RWin + N (small caps)

Thanks. See you guys in the skies. I usually fly the 109 in WWII mode, but I have them all. Take care

I am running a single Geforce GTX 680 with 4GB memory with no negative issues, so far. I have 16 GB ram. My 2.0 Alpha is currently in ( C: ) Program Files (64-bit)\Eagle Dynamics and its OpenAlpha sub-directory. My 1.5 and 1.2 builds are in a separate dedicated directory titled DCS World with 2 separate sub-directories for each, currently also under ( C: ) . 1.5 is setup by the DCS World install as the release version and it has within its directory the sub-directory for its Open Beta. My 1.2 I titled it as a modded directory. Before I added JSGME, my mods were done long-hand. I have 4 separate directories unique to themselves and each are separate updates when they are offered. Take care

When I go to the DCSW Alpha 2.0.1, your server, I get an active pause flashing icon in my upper right hand corner of my monitor's screen. Do I need a mod from you guys? Or are you not quite ready for prime time just yet? What's going on?
-
I kept my modded 1.2.16 as archive because of my mods. I can still play by myself and with the AI. The mods for 1.2.16 most likely will not work for the newer versions of DCS. But the newbie mods or updates should not be too far into the future before they start showing up. Stop by the modding forum once in awhile. I also have DCS 1.5 release, plus its OpenBeta, plus the 2.0.1 OpenAlpha. Doesn't look like too many folks are flying the Alpha, just yet. Bought a SSD for my active DCS stuff which will free up space on my hard drive. Just waiting to get in the mood to tear my PC apart to add it.

(re: Message #112) Always look around, often, and DON'T fly predictable. I should follow my own advice! I like flying in curve motions, much harder for enemy to hit me. Most guys would never be as courteous as you have shown, bogie would have been blown away at 1st opportunity.

Padlock (F5) is useful if the server admin wants to turn it on. Other option is to get on the enemy side's TeamSpeak and let them know where you are. Then work on tactics of reversing yourself once jumped to get on their six---a work in progress for me. The 109 has a few flares to let the enemy know where you are...

Yeah, I mapped mine to manual override, too, in case I may need it (LAlt + A and LCtrl + A) . But one of the patches fixed the auto-temp cowl flap controls to work fine in auto, that suffices most of the time. Both boost systems, I need to watch my ATA and RPM limits are within range or suffer the consequences. I read the DCS flight manual and read the forums here for info. I keep my eyes glued to the instruments via Left Windows + Number Pad 5 snap view. My Logitech keyboard has 54 programmable G-keys for extras --- Logitech G510, about $100, 2 or 3 years ago. I makeup key-controls mappings per aircraft. I don't use TrackIR, so I have my Pro Throttle setup to include looking around and out of my cockpit as to the head-down move mentioned above and zoom in-out and return view to normal.

+1 You guys do Nevada, I'll be there once in awhile. Hope the other WWII servers follow suit.
-
TREES in 2.0 are no longer soft! LOL! So much for me using that escape technique in the future. Hopefully the WWII side of DCS will also include the more real ground clutter and suffer the consequences of such action as to hard trees.

Me too, I have returned playing with you guys. At least you guys have some interesting missions and objectives instead of the endless and mindless furballs the other WWII servers offer. Been wanting to join in on the Allied side TeamSpeak while I fly Axis, but I figure that may be frowned on as maybe cheating. Would be interesting swearing contests, though... LOL! Thanks

I agree to a point. I have transitioned lately back to the DoW server, their various topic-ed scenarios. Without them using the newbie improved spotting feature, if I take the time to pay attention to what is going on, it is getting easier to find the enemy aircraft. I'm not going to quit playing DCS WWII era, but there needs to be a better way of finding the bogies. I do use the SweetFX and ReShade mod which does help in certain lighting conditions and what I am using still works in the DCS World Alpha, too. I purchased the P-51 initially, but that tends to outnumber the German aircraft in MP scenario as to balanced sides. So I mostly fly the 109 and 190, though both are inferior compared to the Mustang's greater kill gun range and having more rounds on board. Especially the 109's less capacity cannon rounds, I have to be very conservative firing rounds and getting really up close and personal.

Which aircraft are you most interested in?
DieHard replied to Griffin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Yeah, only use specific planes that were available only during the designated year of their operation. -

La-7 would be nice, like the 109K-4, lots of punch with one or two rounds and it is fast, well the Aces High (hitechcreations) version is. -
Any talks on updating the Black Shark?

I use the click method all the time and usually all three channels are on. I use CH Control Manager utility. My gear are: Fighterstick, Pro Throttle, Pro Pedals all USB connectors. My stuff at least 6 years old if not older. I have flown BS1 and BS2 exclusively 2 or 3 years. I have the Upgrade version of the BS2 copter, just kept purchasing updated versions. Used to hang out with Cooper quite a lot and some of the Aussie guys in MP. Don't say it can't be done. I do it! You get used to doing what you get used to.

If I am lucky, might have 15 years left. ED, don't wait too long... LOL!

(re: Message #1) I am patiently waiting for the beta. Please bring it on! Meanwhile, back at the farm, I'll be dogfighting with one of the other WWII planes at the ACG (EU) MP server. Come on over and indulge yourself, guys.

What are the chances we will see a B-17 DLC some day?

Framerate drops when throttle is at idle in 109
DieHard replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in Bugs and Problems
Been flying Bf109K-4 over a month exclusively with no noticeable problem using mostly the ACG (EU) MP server in both versions of 1.5 . Played some on the DoW MP server also. VSYNCH is not checked. My video card is a single GTX 680 with 4GB of GDDR5 memory. Win7 Pro i7-2600 3.4GHz throttles up to 3.9 max 16GB RAM Alienware Aurora R3 desktop, liquid cooled ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (later edit) Just rechecked this with an airport circuit flight and landing after posting this note. My frame rates did not drop below 70 at throttle idle. Prop was set to auto on landing. I have a 3-D Alienware AW2310 monitor that goes over 200 FPS at times. The stereoscopic 3-D is turned off. Vsynch was off. I use NVidia Control Panel. -+- Wonder what the common denominator to this issue is with the guys affected? -
The online MP WWII air combat game/sim "Aces High" had this option a few years ago when I played it. You can actually sit in the teachers lap, in his cockpit, though you or him are not actually visible. This sim is a little bit arcade compared to DCS. We communicated in real time using TeamSpeak. "Charge MK108" --- What Does This Do?

see Message #63: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2641524&highlight=SweetFX#post2641524 My older version SweetFX and Reshade does not work in the 2.0 Alpha or DCS World 1.5.2.48726 The newer SweetFX 2.0 and Reshade 1.1.0 =========================== http://reshade.me/sweetfx I am going to experiment with this newer version from the link above. I do all my mods using JSGME, that makes modding easier and a lot less painful. Remember to move all mods over from the right column to the left column before taking any DCS World updates or they can get corrupted. Have been flying the 109K-4 exclusively for about a month in MP using the (EU) ACG WWII Server. I have not modded this aircraft. I do not read the German language but I use the default German cockpit as it comes right out of the box, as is. I setup this aircraft months ago when it 1st came out in its early beta.

+1 Tonight's sorties on the 1.5.2.48726 build, the ACG WWII Server (EU): I have no problem following aircraft down into the trees in the ground clutter and staying with them. I find a happy setup with my Alienware LCD monitor's various preset modes, brightness and contrast controllers and I also can customize what I want. I am not currently using SweetFX or ReShade. I am not using TrackIR. I map various view buttons to my controllers. Along with what you say above, when I see 2 guys flying together as an effective element, I got to be watching my back as often as I watch the guy I'm going after and not get too target fixated and not forgetting his buddy is most likely going to be coming up my six, shortly. I like flying in MP fighting against real people. Having played in other sims over the years, I can spot guys with similar experience just based on how they move and how they set up into a dogfight. I am only just one guy of a very few in this thread that is quite happy just the way the WWII dogfighting is, well, at least as the ACG server has it, currently.

The ACG WWII MP server using the 1.5 Open Beta build, their winter map, on Saturday afternoon and evening January 9, '16 was quite enjoyable and playable. That was the best MP many hours sorties I have had to date flying with anybody's server DCS WWII era. I flew the 109 all night in dogfight scenarios. Fun!
