  1. Yes, same with me.
  2. (re: Message #1) Yes, DITTO! Especially watching the Vikhrs travel to the target with my SHKVAL monitor screen enlarged in maximum zoom. The missile's smoke is bad enough, the explosion smoke added to it really slows my fps down. My favorite hobby with the Ka-50 in MP is to sneak near an enemy's airbase and pop aircraft on the tarmac getting ready or while taking off. Watching the aircraft's explosion does a real number as to slowing down my fps frame rates. So, I should not watch zoomed in.
  3. Me, too. Not a new issue: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=148714 I have an Alienware Aurora-R3 with 8GB RAM. On the MS-Dedicated-East server (old S-77th), wee hours this morning, 41 ping, I was using 98% capacity of my RAM with major stutters as to what I think is too much virtual disk swapping going on. I will add 8GB RAM to 16GB max total and put DCS on a SSD is my next step. Currently cannot play the game in OpenBeta. Sucks!
  4. The enlargement option to physically ID aircraft by naked eyeball totally negates the stealthiness of clandestine helicopter ops like what I like to do in MP (Multi-Player). If this option remains in game, flying any helicopter where stealth needs to be an option as to performing a mission objective in MP, there is no sense of even entering onto a server. I guess I will go buy a fishing boat and change hobbies. Whomever dreamed this up just killed the game (sim).
  5. I came to DCS four or five years ago, they were talking about it, then! 2 weeks...
  6. (re: Message #1) I taught myself about 80% competent, took me about a year flying everyday, mostly in various MP server missions. That was 4 years ago. Then I met Cooper with the old Savage S-77th squad, now renamed: ======================== http://www.maddog-simulations.com/ Mad-Dog (Devilman) has probably the best custom online missions for the Ka-50 currently. Another guy that is very good is Ajax with the 159th squad: ============================ http://www.159thgar.com/forums/index.php Both these guys fly the Ka-50 exclusively. Too bad Tyger's 74th squad is no more, he had great custom made MP missions for the Ka-50. Come online in MP and join in. In 2011 I found the Ka-50 hardcopy manual published in 2009 on Amazon.com and bought it. The cockpit then was Russian. The manual is English text with the Russian language instrument descriptions before the English cockpit came out. Just identifying what each switch and control did was a bear to learn. Now I have it mostly memorized, but not in Russian. Thankfully I don't need to think in Russian to fly this thing via Clint Eastwood's airdale movie. The hardest thing for me to learn was forget about the autopilot and learn to fly this thing in Flight Director mode, freehand, go where you want. Then learn to fly it without the 3-amigos push-buttons engaged like what happens with extreme damage and rtb to get repaired, refuelled and rearmed.
  7. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=151195 This issue needs to be fixed, not just a workaround.
  8. Hi, Thanks for that fix, that solved the issue, kinda'. How did you ever isolate this item to solve your problem? I had already installed the Republic Campaign and played with it, but that was prior to installing the SweetFX Reshade beta. I went to play with the campaign and got the same message you have in quotes. I removed the dxgi.dll from the 1.5 DCS World OpenBeta's bin subdirectory and stashed it to my Recycle Bin, afterwards returning same item where I retrieved it because the Reshade program needs it. I use Reshade and dxgi.dll is necessary for it to function. Reshade will not work for me running this campaign. This "fix" is a workaround, the activation issue still needs to be fixed. Thanks.
  9. Yep, some sorties out and back no problem at all on a tank of gas. Other times I just forget and over abuse the engine and I break the engine. Bf-109 is the worst for me, but 109 is my favorite to date of the WWII birds.
  10. I would like to know the specifics to be able to have custom cockpits within this setting. I am still using JSGME.
  11. There is another setting to set to get the English ABRIS for the Ka-50 and the English speaking Betty. "Avionics Language," I think, under the Gameplay tag. It works fine.
  12. Don't know what the server name was. Icons were on and that newbie Model Enlargement in Gameplay was on. That was some fun dogfighting encounters. Best I have seen in a long time. About a dozen guys were on. We could actually find each other for a nice change. Thanks for putting the server up.
  13.
  14. WWII and Korea era, anyway. Flew my Mig-15 against a F-86 the other night, the Sabre pilot is a real life, current, Navy F-18 fighter jock, 2 years into his career. He just laughed at the current non-real life aircraft visibility in game on the MP server we were playing on. I was all around him, he never could see me. I have been saying it since coming to DCS 4 or 5 years ago, ED needs an online server similar to what Aces High has had for years, a $15 monthly fee, and at prime-time USA there can be 500 people on simultaneously in game. I don't think ED is gonna' do it. Aces High got to be too arcade is why I quit it.
  15. In MP, the mission designer and / or server host should have the option to turn it off if so desired and both sides do not use this feature so everybody is on an even and equal playing field. I would be happy with just a red dot out there to know where the general direction of the enemy aircraft are. I have flown on servers and never did see the enemy planes the whole sortie out and back. Then I did a replay in Tacview and they were all around me! There needs to be a better way.
  16. Flying 109: saw smoke trail on DoW server tonight 2 separate sorties in MP. It's a dead giveaway. I had not been in a dogfight to be damaged, yet. Trailing smoke due to non-combat engine damage? If this is gonna be the new and better 109, I'll go back flying the Mustang.
  17. I have it finally working in the 1.5 OpenBeta in MP. It reads the lower altitude from zero to 120 meters OK, whereas the analog altimeter does not respond very well that low. But the other setting, the higher scale is not working for me. Is it functioning correctly for you guys?
  18. Thanks for the SP dog-fight mission.
  19. I just had a birthday... Thanks (LOL!) I've used some of your helps to the CH Hangar over the years. Thanks for the support you provide. Take care.
  20. Is or are there one on one, two on two, third-party add-ons to load into the sim for practicing dogfighting F-86 and/or Mig-15 in Single Player? That was my biggest gripe with the Mig-15 after I learned her back in May 2015, nobody to spar with in SP AI or real people in Multiplayer. So I spend most of my time lately with WWII era birds. Because of the upcoming tournament I see more F-86 vs. Mig-15 options in MP, this past week. I am not too handy with the sim editor creating stuff. Thanks for any help.
  21. What will the TeamSpeak3 channel address be? I skimmed thru this link info, I did not see it listed: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2544686#post2544686 I may have missed it... Also, what is the Skype contact number?
  22. I have noticed this also in 1.2.16.43180 tonight. Have not setup the Mig in 1.5, yet, though have the latest update. Will see how it goes there tonight or tomorrow.
  23. I registered tonight for the Mig. I'll show up if I can make it. Whatever goes and how you guys want to do this is OK with me. Just looking for a fun time. Take care.
