  1. If you have such problem than you should read. It explains what to do to avoid it. If you don't want to read then complain and return Reverb to HP and bitching about as others do.
  2. Third part VRCover.
  3. To be honest, all these problems people reporting not just for HP Reverb but for other VR as for example SO+ or Rift S too are similar and they are related more to the DP, HDMI, and USB connector design which is not designed for the constant moving of the cable. Some similar DIY modification like one made on the head connection which will secure that cable is not moving on the sensitive connector spot so all this is fixable at your own simple DIY. One zip tie on the back of the PC case will do miracles and to be sure will prevent any possible accidental damage made by pulling the cable too hard. I will do that anyway even if I don't have any of this problem just to protect my hardware from accidentally made damage.
  4. Yes! Get HP Reverb. :smilewink:
  5. Will be. In a two weeks.
  6. I don't know in what world they exist? It is huge, unjustified full 50% (300$) difference in price compared to Reverb and 125% (500$, after Nvidia Super price drop, add another 100$ and you got Rift S + RTX 2080 for just 100$ more than 900$ Cosmos) compared to Rift S. Unfortunately, it is the exact price which I was predict Month ago based on HTC Focus price and comparison with Quest. Only possible customers who will buy this product are those minority of 5% with extremely wide or narrow IPD because of manual IPD adjustment and all of that if no one else releases it. So far we know about ACER Ojo will have and if they put a realistic price of 700$ they are doomed. Also, I'm expecting in near future some sort of Rift2 based on some sort of hybrid Quest/Rift-S with dual 2160x2160 displays and manual IPD for 600 to 700$. Also, we could expect Odissay 2 with such displays and manual IPD for the same price between 600 and 700$. Simply HTC VR could despair from the market in the near future if they don't adapt to the market dictate.
  7. It is simple mathematics. On Vulcan AMD GPU is better than Nvidia from 15 to 30% depending on the title. So if this RX 5900 will match 2080 Super this is it just in GPU performances. Also, RX 5900 will have 5Gb memory more and faster memory and on all that ad benefit from PCIe 4.0. Add on this benefit from new Ryzen7 3700x on new X570 MB and benefit from fast memory up to 5GHz. Vulcan will be able to utilize that. Last month on AMD presentation you could see how lover end Navi RX 5700 get double FPS rendered than 2080ti. The only difference was Navi on PCIe 4.0 and 2080ti was on PCIe 3.0. In this case, PCIe could be a bottleneck. Even if it stays it is now for just 15 to 20% better performances pay 800$ or more ... , I don't know. Practically you get HP Reverb + 2TB SSD for free. And like I say in the end will be interesting to see Intel and Nvidia reaction with releasing new technology or price correction to be competitive. Personally, I'm expecting a drop of the price for 2080ti at least for 200$ and then we can talk about it maybe it is worth now to buy that RTX 2080ti card. Like I said it is not time to build new configuration right now with all this new stuff around the corner and in the less than a month we will see first proper benchmarks to know more.
  8. It is pointless technology without proper support in the software you are using. Also, it is pointless for gaming whit that bad lenses Vive using, even when you are looking on the side of your lens in Vive will be blurry because of lens design out of the lens sweet spot no matter how much will be increased PD on that spot only. VR is a combination of multiple factors melted in unique VR experience so for Foveated rendering be useful you will need not just eye tracking but a specially designed lens for it as well like it is in XTAL or StarVR. Also in our case DCS support for it but it is pointless to expect someone will work on it for less than 1% of users who will be buying such HMD like XTAL or StarVR because Vive Eye is not that what we need in DCS. It is more likely to expect support for multiple GPU usage in VR as much simpler and will affect much more users of the game with it so have more logic from a business perspective.
  9. Tomorrow AMD is representing new Navi GPU. The top model will be RX 5900 for 600$. This will be matched to RTX 2080 Super by performance but will have 16Gb GDDR6 and will be PCIe 4.0 so this could have some benefits for VR. So combining with Ryzen7 3700X 8/16 could beat I9 9900 and RTX 2080ti on Vulcan engine. Point is the price. it is actualy100$ less than Nvidia pair. So I believe Nvidia will lower the price as well and AMD didn't go with the lowest price just to leave headroom for further lowering if Nvidia answers on this with cutting prices. Definitely, it is not the time to buy new GPU or CPU yet, but after summer ... :pilotfly:
  10. And where in the end you can buy warthog grip only?
  11. ED is working on native WMR support. So in the future DCS VR will work on WMR directly without steamVR. In about two weeks. :music_whistling:
  12. :thumbup::pilotfly:

  14. I was talking about that in the past. Right now our mouse cursor is 2D inside 3D environment. And here is a leying major problem for interaction in the cockpit. The mouse cursor has only X and Y axis and it is locked to the view not to the 3D spacing inside the cockpit so when you move your head it is moving the cursor as well. The mouse cursor should get 3, X, Y and Z axis and be positioned relative to cockpit space independent from direction of view.
  15. Even on paper specs suggesting not much of the difference.
  16. DCS is announcing and take preorder for legendary F-16C Viper. As this is plane with Fly By Wire X65 will be a perfect stick for it. So Logitech pleas release again X65 as separate joystick so we could use it with other hardware separately just as an FBW addition. This will be hit among F-16 virtual pilots and a great addition to realism and immersion X65 work exactly as a stick in real F-16. What do you think about it? Should we push Logitech to such decision or not?
  17. Looks like we will die again after Reverb.
  18. FOV is the only advantage for Pimax and it is not 200 as "paper" say but 170 max and in most of the sims, you will not be able to run it properly. In any other aspect, competitors are better. One of misleading from Pimax is exactly this 200FOV because they measure FOV diagonal. Who is measuring FOV diagonal? FOV is only horizontal and vertical everything else is misleading. I don't want to debate about Pimax. Go ahead, buy your self Pimax and enjoy in great controllers, flawless audio, comfort, 6DoF tracking and great customer support in next 6 months, if... for only miserable 1500$ what will cost you to reach 1000$ full package of Index in the same level. and to get the same level of performances you will be able to play the only 125FOV on Pimax vs 130FOV on Index. So go ahead and enjoy your Pimax.
  19. Pimax is highly overpriced. 700$ for naked HMD without proper headcount, no audio at all, no controllers in that price, no positional tracking only 3DoF and in the end bad support and lowest finish quality comparing to other VR. With Rift S for 400$, you got everything. If you want light house Index is the much better choice again then Pimax and it is cheaper. Index HMD only is cost 500$ but with 150$ worth head-mount with perfect audio. When you take everything in consideration you have to be stupid to go for Pimax after that much choice you have today on disposal.
  20. To me, all of these problems look like power shortage. Maybe the problem could be solved with something simple like this. USB 3.0 Female to Dual USB Male Extra Power Data Y Extension Splitter Cable
  21. Just like noob sailer when he goes first time on the sea. After sometime when he got used to like old sea wolf.
  22. Yea could be but there is no Index available yet. Step by step be patient. That is the only reason why I'm talking only about Reverb and Rift S. For index we need answers on some basic question about some possible issues.
  23. @ED is partially guilty for that. Similar is with 90% games developers in other titles. Even some VR exclusive titles are not implementing already existing technologies to utilize some VR possibilities like for example Vulcan or DX12 which allow you to implement multiple GPU for VR usage in a way where single GPU render each eye. What is the point to buy eye tracking when there is no single title with Foveated rendering implementation. I don't understand ED priority policy when with such implementation of VR technology will directly affecting on performances and money users can save on hardware. On Vulcan, Nvidia is losing advantage over AMD GPU and even today without taking Navi in consideration old 2x Vega 56 will significantly outperform single RTX 2080ti. In the same time, we will save hundreds of money which could be easily spent on new DCS modules instead of on overpriced and unnecessary hardware to be able to run DCS with decent performances. ED think about it. I'm not just critisizing. Don't take it hard, my critic is constructive and has sense. Be the first who will implement such technology and provide benefit from it. This will not just save us some money it will attract new players as well. In a lot of aspects DCS is a superior product in the sim world but at the same time have a lot of issues which chase new players from it kept them on using an inferior product. So what has more sense, implement new technology and improve performance what will double the sale or keep just pumping new modules with lower sale point?
  24. I notice few people who got Rift S but ordered Reverb as well. It is obvious how RS got minimal sweet spot for clarity. It is the minimal but obvious difference. On the other side Reverb definitely, have superior clarity but significantly more pixels to render. Will be good to compare the two headsets to see how much details in the game you can show or sacrifice to reach equal FPS? What role SS/PD have on such displays like with Reverb, do we need it or we can even go in negative with .8 or .7 for example and reach satisfying end results? Will be interesting to see how it is look on Reverb display when we render exactly same number of pixels as we do on Rift S and than compare it. Then do exactly opposite and pump up SS and PD with Reverb details to reach Reverbs numbers of pixels on the Rift S.
