The AI climbs in all the WWII aircraft, unfortunately even with the AI cheating the Anton is not a good climber. IIRC this was actually addressed by ED during a YouTube interview, they are improving AI to react against the weakness of the aircraft it is attacking rather than just do vertical loops.

Thanks for sharing, hadn't seen this before will need to follow these chaps as they also did a great video on the R1155. I have to say the lack of Gee on the Mossie does make me rather annoyed. I made a thread a few months back when I saw the placement of the R1155, T1154 and antenna as this indicated that we wouldn't be getting Gee however no one seemed particularly bothered about this Seems foolish to not model a system which appears to be present on the vast majority of FB.VI. As it stands what we have from my brief look is actually quite a rare sight.... A Gee less FB.VI.

So this at least applies to VR but I assume it will be the same for flat screens. When I look down at the seat it looks to me as if the default head position is just a few cm far to the left of where it should be. I will grab a few screenshots of this when I get the chance.
-
Agreed, really the only way to do this would be as Sokol suggested I am making a Mossie gear panel and this is the way I am going to do it. Rig the levers to a momentary switch that will push the lever back into the neutral position.

No problem. I don't envy you, will be a pain trying to figure out where plies end or the 45 degree plies start without any fasteners indicating where the frames are! Also the plies look to be of various sizes precut for the location.
-
You can see here on the left hand fuselage. From the inside again the 45 degree layup. Also you can gauge the size of each wooden ply from this one... Keep up the good work
-
I was going to do one like this The rear of the fuselage is different to the rest as the wooden plies have a 45 degree orientation to increase the strength of the tail. I will find the picture I have showing this.

This image of TV959 shows the difference between the silver dope and unpainted tarnished aluminum panels.
-
It was pinched from the IMW website so yes Duxford. https://abpic.co.uk/pictures/registration/G-ASKC I am not sure how accurate it is as it seems to have been painted to look like a target tug fairly recently. My understanding was that the silver dope was left unpainted after the war.
-
Interestingly there doesn't appear to be a huge difference between the metal and fabric colour... Unlike the Hart picture. Perhaps subtle difference in reflection. I assume the engine covers must have be painted.
-
nice, I would just say that the silver dope looks significantly more matt than your polished look. Below is a picture of a Hawker Hart, you can clearly see the same dull silver doped fabric compared with the polished aluminium engine covers.

It has been reported already

They have stated more will become available. I don't believe they will do a competition for the Mozzie simple because there really wasn't that great a variation of schemes. Blue PR ones, Day Light Bomber scheme (Mistakenly applied to some FB VI), Night Fighter Scheme (That we Have), Banff Costal Command (That we have)... those cover the main schemes. The variant within these is very limited, D-Day Stripes different colour prop hubs and some squadron markings that is all. See here

Here you go... Wasn't in the notes it was in the news segment. "Phase 2 features we are working on: Operator's AI for multi-crew Tire and shock absorber dynamics Operable drift recorder device Engine failures Fire-extinguishers Rockets armament More liveries" https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/2021-09-17/ -

I just want to say, landing like this wasn't the norm back in the 1940s. They were taught to do a three point landing into wind. Watch this video from about 10:50... He alludes to why they wheel it. To be honest watch it all, great clip. Also if you look at the notes the landing gear system is an area that they are working on, it is quite different to other aircraft we have so far. -
Sorry if this has been posted before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POyFjwUZg_c&t I know we have some great videos people have made operating the DF in DCS however it is great to see people restoring this old tech and is quite interesting to hear more about the workings.

They still have a lot left to do with the European theatre IMO, especially in terms of AI aircraft. Some of these might cross over, however I don't know what aircraft were around for the actual Marianas Battle. I just had a look and pretty much no aircraft carry over from the Battle of the Philippines to Normandy or vice versa.... Potential the Hellcat and Corsair but I don't think they actually saw action over Europe. Helldiver, Dauntless, Avengers make up the rest.

That was absolutely fantastic

Thanks Fenrir. Were all night fighter marks used in in this role? I was surprised to see that the profiles above depict NF II in 1944. I had assumed these marks were replaced with upgraded radar version?
