Impressive details already and even better presentation. Those renders look absolutely stunning! I love the one from the front with the ominous shadows. I always cheer up when there is an update notification for this thread.

I'm working on a quick reference document with all sorts of information I'm likely to forget to quickly remind me in the air after longer DCS pauses. I already added the pilot's reticle and would like to have a similar diagram for the copilot side. I'm using the sights more or less by intuition only and doing alright there, I'd say. I usually only fly in the right seat also, but for the sake of completion I'd prefer to have this information in there, should I need it. Having that information for one but not the other triggers my OCD for some reason .

Depicted in the flight manual is a handy little diagram of the pilot's sight reticle with the corresponding 'mil'-values (fig. 8.8 on p. 102 in english version). However no such information is given for the sight of the copilot. Do the circle-diameters there translate to any particular 'mil'-value like on the right seat? They visually seem to be of different sizes.

Thank you Phil and everyone who helped to make Storm of War such a special server. Sad to see it vanish so suddenly. -
Looks like the one by upuaut: called "FBI with Markings" under the United States section. Edit: seems the Dropbox link is dead. The one from his QNAP cloud in the first post seems to be working: https://www.myqnapcloud.com/share/7397jijk7p84o29sw9yx29yd_12hfjk5hn8392684rv2x76x3ba92075h#/home/DCS/DCS_Skins/uh-1h

Definitely my good eyes...not the fact I made a similar mistake an hour ago

shouldn't the UH-1H.lua in the UnitPayloads folder be around 7 KB. It seems you didn't copy the correct file or did not overwrite an existing one.

Maybe this:

Sadly, I'm still at mission 1 to be honest (3 failed attempts so far, attempt number 4 maybe later today ). I haven't played DCS in a while before, though. I'm usually doing alright if there is a little wiggle-room and I can fly and land on pads with some accuracy. But with the tight Landing Zone, uneven terrain and bad weather I screwed up at least one landing each time by toppling the huey (which incidentally did not stop the ground crew from unloading cargo crates...that's how professional they are) or playing lumberjack with my main rotor (followed by a line from casmo to "watch out for those trees", which gave me a good chuckle, I have to say). It's doable, but two tricky landings in one mission (uneven terrain with heavy load on the artillery-base and *very* tight LZ for the Bravo6 team) in bad weather is a certainly not the most beginner-friendly way to start a campaign. I was hoping for a less steep difficulty-curve, I guess. The little I have seen so far has been superb, though. The 'mood' and atmosphere are fantastic. I hope I'll progress soon to enjoy the rest (I'm not even close to being frustrated enough to skip the mission altogether). I have to disagree with you slightly on one point though: I do agree that the comms management is part of the fun, and it so far has not been a point of failure for me. But with suboptimal headtracking and depending on one's individual setup it can be a royal pain to change frequencies. The thing is, while you could easily do it in real life at a glance or without even looking (like changing your car stereo), with headtracking and without any haptic feedback you have to continuously look directly at it AND aim the mouse at a relatively small space AND sometimes find the correct mouse button or scroll direction. And if your head moves a little you might end up changing the switch next to it. All while not trying to crash. It sometimes is a struggle, so I tend to change the radios only on the ground, if possible. I'm usually fine with tuning the radios myself, but having the option to tell the copilot to change frequencies would be (at least sometimes) preferable. Maybe a F10-Menu option? I hope that does not read too critical, as I certainly have enjoyed my attempts so far and will try to improve my skills to complete both the mission and the entire campaign.

The paratroopers in the 2022 and Beyond video certainly seem to suggest just that. (See at around 2:10 minutes)

So basically the entire area of the channel map will be covered by the expanded normandy map, rendering the channel map even more pointless than it already was before. Or am I missing something here? A quick look on Google Maps shows that Paris is almost as far east as Dunkerque, which itself seems to be close to the end of the detailed area on the channel map. Hopefully they found a way to merge the two. I seem to remember a statement discarding that idea, but this would be the only way it would make any sense. At least the multiplayer-community would certainly like that, I guess.

Location of the LCF ( Lafarge Concrete Factory )

DA64 There are only some generic buildings there in the current version, though. -
I noticed that satellite and map views do not match up. The new islands are offset slightly varying from "a little" to "quite a bit": Both comparison pictures show exactly the same view in the editor, only switched from SAT to MAP. I placed units on each island, which makes it very obvious.

Based on the moving map and after a quick look around in google maps, my guess would be here, just east of the euphrat (Grid DA64 in DCS): 36.543116022446924, 38.58825317872053 (just paste in the search box in google maps) Looks like the factory in the beginning and the helibase.

There is a big rectangular hole in the rocks on the south coast of the northernmost island Farallon de Pajaros visible from the shore: -camera 780.468968 0.017311 18.809640 -cameradir 0.672178 -0.075094 0.736572 The rocks around this rock formation and on the peak of the mountain have some unnatural straight edges. Especially at low sun angles, these are very noticeable. -camera 781.811360 0.444590 18.491881 -cameradir -0.678389 -0.664711 0.312966

There seem to be separate bindings for each module (additional to the one mentioned here in the "General" section). I was flying in the Huey, and the binding there was a different one. So check the keybindings of the module you are currently using if it doesn't seem to do anything. -

I noticed the depression angles table for Mk-82s for 400 kts, -30° dive angle lists 60 mrad for both 1500 and 2000 ft. Is this correct or a typo? -

Why is that one mossie blurred at about 2:22 in the trailer? Looks like great fun, though. If only I had the channel map (or the free space for it on my ssd)... -

You probably are already aware of it, but just in case you weren't, I just stumbled across a video on YouTube with US situational maps of normandy in summer of 1944: -
Well, for what it's woth, I put it in the wishlist a while back: I'm no expert in the Mission Editor by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems that there is currently no way (besides deactivating it completely) to influence civilian traffic. If there is, I'd be very much interested as well.

It certainly seems that Hope is all we got at this point... It might be more efficient to instead encourage Microsoft to add trains to their sim, to increase the priority here... it worked with the clouds

In the Dora it's as you describe. In the 109 you have to remove the safety manually.
