  1. You are assuming that all previous bugs have been fixed with 2.5? Erm, not to sound too negative here, but no, I doubt that. :D
  2. Maybe we should talk to ED and ask for a delay ... so that everyone can get their installs straight and issues solved before 2.5 hits the D/L servers ... *scnr*
  3. +1 Just because there is a good reason (known to us) does not mean that it is not a missing feature.

  5. Thank you Zeus! Granted, I am only an armchair pilot, but after I read through the chapter 2.5.1 AUTO Delivery Mode of the NWP 3-22.5-AV8B Vol.I, I am somewhat confident that the ASL just needs to be attached/go through the designated point cue of the HUD (and stay perpendicular to the horizon, as it is already today. No complicated swinging or swaying of the ASL neccessary - just roll-stabilized.) While this behaviour is not explicitely stated in the manual, it just makes sense, imo. And all pictures depicting an ASL have it all showing it going through the designated target point.
  6. I would love to see this bug getting some priority ... ;-) Especially when using the TPOD, this issue makes it almost impossible to drop bombs somewhere near the designated target. The added flexibilty of the TPODs gimbals is somewhat nullified if you can not really line up with the target. Any bank angle > a few degrees makes the ASL appear at positions on the HUD that have nothing to do with the actual target. That makes it almost impossible to perform a turn, using the TPOD pipper as cue, in order for a proper line up. You always turn too far ... or have to turn sloooooooooowly, degree by degree ... Please, some love for the ASL cue! :D
  7. C-160? Dropping cargo on pallets while flying 10 ft AGL. The pallets slide behind the aircraft until they eventually come to a stop. Saves quite some time unloading an aircraft ... heh. Unfortunately I can't find any footage of this, but Transalls did this, iirc, in some humanitarian mission, somewhere in Africa? Or were those C-130? Whichever it was, I want that in DCS and do as they did there! :-D edit:
  8. Will 1.5.8 receive a final patch before it goes "unsupported"? There should be a few bug fixes in the pipeline for several modules for, I think, a few weeks by now. If those would still make it into the 1.5.8 version, I bet it would be greatly appreciated by those who opt to keep 1.5.8.
  9. The DCS Update program detects the differences between your current installation and the desired installation by comparing the files. If there are differences, then the programm downloads the files and swaps them out in your DCS folder. By default, the "desired installation" is the one with the latest version number. But you can manually tell the update program that you want a different, older version. But the process is technically the same.
  10. You drove a few times around the block with your new motorcycle ...with training wheels attached. And now they are dismounted... and you want to learn to properly ride a bike and thus want them to re-attach the training wheels? I doubt that this would really benefit you ...
  11. 2.5 is the successor of 1.5 and newer versions of DCS are meant to be backwards compatible. That is why also everyone expects the Gazelle (and any other module) to be working in 2.5, as any other DLC like campaigns ... But that said, I can understand that adjustments and work is needed and that this may take time.
  12. There are a few issues with the PCA and rockets (DCS 2.2.0.12843, but 1.5.8 is also affected, iirc): 1. If no A/A weapons are loaded, the first PCA button is assigned RK3. According to the manual, the first button should only be assigned MAG (if loaded). 2. If 4 x RK3 is loaded, PCA 1 and PCA 2 show "S" and "P", when clicked. PCA 1 should show nothing (see 1.), and PCA 2 should probably show RK3, but is empty. 3. If RK3 is loaded at the outer pylons and A/A at the inner pylons, the PCA only shows INT instead of EXT. In this configuration it is not possible to fire the rockets, although HUD symbology suggests otherwise. Perhaps not directly RK3/PCA related: 4. Loaded 4 x RK3, selected RK3 together with INT and EXT, TAS and RS active, master arm ON: HUD symbology is incomplete, showing only the 4 tick marks, but no range circle. This lasts a minute or so right after take off until the correct symbology is eventually displayed. Firing rockets is possible, but the (incomplete) HUD cue is off - probably just showing bore sight position. I noticed, that during the time the issue is present, the radar screen shows a blinking P. That means, the radar (TAS) is still warming up? But shouldn't active RS still allow to get a working CCIP solution?
  13. I wonder, why are there 5 PCA option buttons if mixed A/G loadouts are not permitted? - one for MAG - one for 530 - one for RP - one for A/G like BL1/ BF1/BF4, RK3, EL1 (and BF8) - one for ... well, for what?
  14. We will most likely be able to switch between the seats and thus be pilot at one moment and RIO the other moment. How effective this will be, in terms of proficiency, remains to be seen, I guess.
  15. It's all WIP. I assume, it will be getting easier, once, when contrast/gain/etc. settings of the MPCDs can be adjusted
  16. That ... would be the Christen Eagle then - everything else is already in my hangar or on my "day 1 purchase" list. Awww ... I dunno ... hrmmmm ... ow ... :D
  17. Seems to be a problem with a livery. Do you have any non-standard M2KC liveries installed? Try it without them, if that is the case. Otherwise, try a DCS Repair.
  18. Yes, the effect is somehow worse over Normandy - probably because of the object count which is probably higher there on average. See also here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=195024 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3217364#post3217364
  19. it actually does. Units move slower the more damage they take and supposedly their skill level decreases as well (i.e. take longer to aim, shoot worse, etc.).
  20. And let us change the affiliation of units during a mission (trigger actions, script funcitons). Imagine the possibilities if units can change sides! :) ... including the player units, ofc. Mission designers could implement "twists" in the mission / the story ... like, depending on player decisions and actions, the player might end up defecting and switching sides ... *dreams*
  21. Too inaccurate, yes, but underpowered? Never read anything here about that ...? But in fact, while the A-10 was designed as "tank killer", it is actually not that easy to kill tanks, especially more modern ones, with it. See also the current discussion here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=199122
  22. Wait longer. Windows thinks that DCS is "unresponsive" and therefore that it "probably" crashed, but usually it is just working hard in the background. After an update it is not uncommon that DCS needs AGES to start up and load the first mission. DCS needs to adjust alot of graphics stuff that was changed during an update, like recompiling GFX shaders and so on. Just wait some more, don't give up unless it takes more than, like 5 Minutes or so. Next time it will start (a bit) quicker. If that really does not help, then post the DCS.log file (C:\Users\<your-windows-user-name>\Saved Games\DCS\logs\DCS.log) here.
  23. According to https://www.scribd.com/document/326655141/1959-D149ZUNI-5-0-FFAR-pdf the launcher alone weights about 105 pounds. Granted, that document is from 1959, but the design of the launcher probably hasn't changed that much, I suppose.
  24. "blocking LOS" kann sich aber nur auf die AI beziehen. Unsereins kann ja so oder so nicht durch die Vegetation gucken.
  25. And that is exactly the reason why I am only ordering from an EU dealer - to not have to deal with taxes, customs and other fees - not to speak of having probably going to the customs office myself (during regular office times, eh?) to pick up my package... So, catch-22, I guess.:(
