Pilots are not going to be "damaged" by 12+ G. Red Bull air racing pilots routinely pull up to 12G. Flanagan Gray went up to 35G before suffering a hernia. The only rational argument you have is GLOC, and even that depends on pilot body type, general physical fitness, specific fitness the day of the flight, how well they perform the "hick" maneuver, or even how hydrated or dehydrated they are at the time of pulling G.

My before landing checklist includes turning off ICS volume so I can fly by the book without Jester's whining.

Deck crew won't even clear the landing area promptly for recovering aircraft, so even single player would get dicey.

How to accelerate to Mach 2? Is there a recommand method?
Nealius replied to YATEIFEI's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
There is no harder. Google and Bing only gives three pages of results, showing the payware site and about a dozen discussion boards or documents referencing the manual but not the manual itself. Duck duck go says "no results found." -

NAVAIR 01-F14AAP-1.1 doesn't appear to be available anywhere except eflightmanuals.com for a $65 purchase, "not for export" so I assume only US-based IPs can buy it. -
What is the future of WW2 stuff for DCS?
Nealius replied to aldox's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Money alone isn't going to fix things. There's only so many hours that can be put on those airframes before they have to be put in a museum. Pilots are ageing out and either crashing them--more of a problem in the US, I think--or unable to pass on their knowledge because the younger generations are gatekept from carrying the torch on. -
Supercarrier BRC is not correct
Nealius replied to Aphrodite51503's topic in Sea/Navy AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Angled deck is 9 degrees. However, the BRC and FB reported by the super carrier comms system always seems to be 1 degree off from actual magnetic BRC/FB. -
That 4k video has been color graded with more saturation and higher contrast than raw footage.

Are they both Hornets? If so it sounds a bit buggy as the inverse works fine. If there's a Tomcat or E-2, though, the crew thinks the wingspan is larger than it actually is and won't hook you up to the shuttle.

F14B and A real standard climb, cruise and descent speeds ?
Nealius replied to Kobal's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
If 8.5 isn't for cruising then why the hell is it called "cruise" in NATOPS? -
But if everyone is on erroneous radials caused by the magnetic drift then people will be all over the place instead of organized where they should be.

F14B and A real standard climb, cruise and descent speeds ?
Nealius replied to Kobal's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Ah, I'm getting terminology confused. The 8.5 unit marker is, per NATOPS, "cruise AoA," but in modern terminology that equates to max conserve? -
Sadly already a victim of mission creep. AI Intruder was slated to be released summer of 2023 then went radio silent. The -95GR has been "planned to release in the coming months" since NOV 2020...

The parking spot logic definitely needs to be fixed so that everywhere near the island except Elev 2 and 3 should be off-limits for parking. When the deck crew freeze up after trap and I use the auto-park command, I get teleported into helos parked where they should be parked as in real life and I immediately explode.

The code doesn't seem to play nice with CASE switching in general. There are times with thick overcast at 2,500 and it's still giving me CASE I, which would make zero sense because anyone in the 3,000ft stack and above would be totally blind in the soup. But at the same time, fighter pilots and CATCC personell have discussed on podcasts that CASE II practically never happens in the real world. They're either CASE I or III.

What is the future of WW2 stuff for DCS?
Nealius replied to aldox's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
The Tiffy is something that I think needs to be preserved digitally in something high-fidelity like DCS for the sake of posterity. There aren't any surviving, flyable examples are there? Given another 20 years and there won't be flyable examples of any warbirds we have in DCS, now that I think of it. -

"Just use your imagination." Might as well play IL2 or Ace Combat at that point ffs. -
We technically do have one model of Mustang that was in the Pacific. I forget the NA number but it's the one with dual antennae.

SH70 mod would need to be installed on the server as well.

Imagination does not fix the major performance disparity between a Mk9 Spit and a K-4. -

1. Lots of people have been requesting a Vietnam map for years before the Phantom even came out. 2. The Phantom was used by many countries in many regions we already have: Persian Gulf, Sinai, Syria, and Kola. -
SC Landing Area Lights Almost Invisible at Night
Nealius replied to Stearmandriver's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
I'm curious if this is connected to visible range setting. On "extreme" I see the LA lights at about 1.5nm out.
