They are in a file called "DemoMods" in the main DCS folder. Open that and the "aircraft" one it contains and delete the ones you want. "Combined Arms" is under "tech". PS: It will restore every one of them at the next update.

AI Disappear
Chief1942 replied to Chief1942's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Thanks for your resolution to the problem. Re-did the mission after relocating 3 vehicles at Vaziani and all the AI went to their nests as usual. -
What's with P-51 versus Fw 190 in Dogfights ?
Chief1942 replied to SnowTiger's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Popcorn! Please. I would suggest that for those that simply love to nit pick every "reality" aspect of every module ED gives us, that they come to appreciate that this is a SIMULATION. It is NOT the real deal and never will it be nor can it be. As for me, I accept the limitations that ED was constrained by and simply adjust to the reality that what they provide us is what it is. Ultimately it is about the enjoyment that comes from these great offerings. Except for the very lucky few who are actually able and do fly the "real deal", to the rest of us this is as close (real) as it is ever going to get. YMMV! Thanks as always ED. -
AI Disappear
Chief1942 replied to Chief1942's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Thanks for the info. The vehicles are in the same place they were before this issue but I will try your approach and see if it fixes this little problem. -
Was flying the A-10C with 3 wingmen. On return to base (Vaziani) and taxing to the HAS, as the AI aircraft reach a point on the taxi way, they simply disappear. I know they used to taxi to their HAS, the doors would open and in they would go. Not currently. Perhaps something changed in the last update? Anyone else see this?

Yes, yes. Thank you for your work. It is much appreciated.

When I close my DCS I have a crash
Chief1942 replied to Skulleader's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Same here. I too have been having this issue. It's not a deal breaker but there is obviously something amiss. I don't have Mustang's Mod so I doubt that is the source of the problem. This seems to have come with the latest update. -
I too am seeing improvements with 1.5.6. I suppose those that are having issues simply point to the reality that with so many various expectations and systems, ED cannot get them all. Especially with the VR issues. Being the fairly new tech it is, little wonder there is a learning curve for the developers. Be patient. When has ED not eventually come through for is?

Thanks Jocko, The skins are great!

Admittidly, I have not tried VR as yet. I am one who tends to stay away from first iteration types of tech and wait for the various issues to be ironed out before I jump onboard. And I must say that just reading some of the pros and cons of VR here on DCSW forums has only re-inforced that position. And then there are articles like this one: https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2016/12/post-vr-sadness/511232/ Tends to make one wonder if those currently using the technology are real guinea pigs as regards the long term effects of VR. Pretty obvious if one cuts through the marketing hype, that even those developing the technology do not fully understand or appreciate the potential long term pshycological/physiological effects of VR. Like cell phones, that have been around and in common use far longer than VR, they are discovering potential harms from overuse of those devices only now. Hasn't been fully substantiated as yet, I would admit, but why not err on the side of caution? I'll wait awhile longer, thanks. Sure do like the concept however, as so many here are really enjoying it.

Some system builder nightmares and troubles
Chief1942 replied to BitMaster's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
"I just hate to reattach the CPU Socket cover...if you do any misfit there it was YOU who killed the board..no matter what." Boy can I identify with that. Had an issue with Newegg about an ASUS board and when I sent the board back to the "point of purchse" of course they found issues with the CPU Socket and refused an exchange. I contacted ASUS, sent the board to them and THEY replaced it. Have not done business with Newegg since, but am a dedicated user of ASUS MB's. -
GHz still > everything? Wait for RYZEN?
Chief1942 replied to Asset's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
"Put the CPU & Board on the table and we will judge it by what it IS and not what AMD claims it is." That is the right approach. Otherwise we simply leave ourselves vulnerable to marketing hype. And that applies to both AMD and Intel. Like I said previously, unless I bench test them myself, I can seldom actually see, in a sim, any notable difference. I am just not that good at seeing the difference between 50 FPS and 60 FPS. Your milage may vary. -

MFG Crosswind - Review

Got mine shortly after Milan started making them available. Been so long and they have been so great at just simply doing their job, that I've almost forgotten about just how good they are. If they DO have a lifespan, I'll probably be one of the first to find out as old as mine are. But I will not hesitate one second purchasing a replacement from Milan. -

C'mon guys... Shades of Ford versus Chevrolet:music_whistling: I have used both AMD and Intel CPU's over the years and unless I am willing to put in numerous hours testing between the two myself on MY system, then it has been my personal experience they are hard to distinguish one from the other , performance (FPS) wise. I currently am using Intel, but when I upgrade my system in the future, I will do as I always do, compare between the two based on the experience of others and of course what the budget will allow at that point in time. Merry Christmas to all my acquaintenances here on the ED Forums. And to ED, I am so looking forward to what you folks are going to give us in the coming months. Pardon the drool. It happens when I start anticipating.:smilewink: -
Merry Christmas to you as well Andre. And thank you for all your and f4IO's contributions to our "addiction". Peace on Earth!!

Chat Enhancer and Text Enlarger for DCS World 1.5
Chief1942 replied to BManx2000's topic in DCS Modding
Interesting as when I have the mod installed via JSGME when I click the "fly" button the game crashes with "DCS has encountered a problem and has shut down". When removed, game works fine. -
Chat Enhancer and Text Enlarger for DCS World 1.5
Chief1942 replied to BManx2000's topic in DCS Modding
Yes. Same here. Had in in my Mods file and had to remove it because the game wouldn't start with the mod activated. -
Tried that and wasn't successful. Tried one more time and managed to pull it off. Thanks for the help.

Thanks but I don't think I'm going to be able to get this done on my Acer. The .inf is contained in a 7ZIP file and even though I can open the zip and see the .inf file, it has no provision for installing it. Acer's website says Windows 10 does all the necessary driver installs required of their monitiors so I guess I'm out of luck changing anything in the Device Manager as regards "monitor".
-
How can one install the monitor's INF file? Mine keeps saying the correct driver is already installed and that is the Microsoft pnp driver. I can download the Acer driver from their site, just cannot get it to install. Thanks for your help.

Skate, You take your time. Anything worth having is worth waiting for and your stuff is definately on the "worth having" list.

Zim, Include me in " most of us". ED has given us the premier flight sim as far as I am concerned. Their approach at releasing "fixes" and of course, letting us choose as to whether or not we will participate in the Alpha and Beta test beds is really an unusal approach for most sim developers. Yes, resistance to change and confronting "bugs" can get frustrating at times, but I try to look at the offering in it's entirety and let all the plus's keep me from putting too much focus on the negatives. Keeping the "community" happy must be like trying to herd a bunch of cats. Pretty tough, but they (ED) does it as well as anybody.

I have been running an Acer XB280HK (supposed to be an UHD4K2K monitor)for over a year now and even though it typically runs at the refresh rate of 60, I have been very happy with it. I am running the resolution at 3849 X 2160 at 60hz (recommended). With the G-Sync, I get no tearing and enjoy reasonable framerates with EVERYTHING in the sim maxed out. Using the NTTR map whenever I fly low over the Vegas Strip, I do see a fairly good drop in FPS, around 35 to 40 at worst, otherwise I run at the max 60FPS.
