This should really be more public. I used to use a "CDU wind brief" mod (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.c...files/2080541/) which stopped working recently so this is a godsend. now I have to go try it... ...and it does not seem to work with the latest OB...

I must quote the same. I managed to haggle to send them back, they were not in the office and the hardware was sent back to me. Customs got curious, chaos ensued. I ended up with a broken pair that has never worked (not just in DCS, they never worked...) and should re-send it to them at my expense... Ridiculous.

Honestly, I think that with SRS the need for in game comms would be a "nice to have" rather than a needed feature... Sure it would make the whole comms process easier but not having it is not as game breaking as some other issues. Sent from my Redmi Note 8 Pro using Tapatalk

I've made a quick search and came up pretty empty handed... Has there been any exploration about the opportunity to implement PDU/5Bs and M129E1/E2 leaflet bombs? I think it would be a nice change, having the chance to drop paper and see an entire enemy battlegroup retreat... Not to mention the whole planning to make the leaflets land in the intended areas. The same could be done from helos, minus the bombs simulating chucking leaflet packages out the side doors. I'm really curious if such a thing could be done (I am sure the physics behind the flight pattern would be a challenge to implement) Sent from my Redmi Note 8 Pro using Tapatalk

I am having issues with the "External Apps", it just does not save che checkmark to enable them to start w/DCS... this happens for SRS and the other 5 applications I have defined there. If I close and reopen the GUI it remembers the paths but deletes the checkmarks. Seems like it's not saving any information about that particular state in the user.config file.

No, look at X-Plane. Always ran on OpenGL (to be able to support Linux/MacOS) and performance has been abysmal, ran out of memory etc. Now they're moving to Vulkan but my impression is the code is so borked in OGL that the perf improvement in Vulkan is suffering from that anyway (e.g. the sim, non graphics code still needs to be heavily refactored). So, no. I'd rather see a good DX12 version of DCS.

Try lowering "chimney smoke density" to 0 in your options, it helped in my case.

How does that work, exactly? Because I have something similar done via Joystick gremlin, when it hits about 75% it sends a virtual keypress (a vJoy) button that is mapped to the F18 (or F16) AB detent control, so the throttle stops at 75% in game, even if I physically slam it to the top. To "unhook" it I have to slightly pull back the throttle (bringing it physically and logically back behind 75%) then it sends a keypress to the virtual (vJoy) button and that releases the detent. I'd be curious if the Virpil thing works in a similar way? BTW my throttle is a X56, until I can get my hands on a CM2 -

Dude, thanks for the answer! So quick! re-doing the mission as I type. The wingman does the same thing... I managed to start taxiing before the two A10s arrive at the parking, Tickles still refuses to move. I'll attach the track when done (even if that means showing everybody how I get shamefully shot down by those Zsu23 in the valley...). Track is here (60 MB, had to load it on a cloud drive) Also, I'll send you a PM, there's a couple of things I'd like to discuss in private if you don't mind? -
Now if only I could find a way to get rid of that glow/bloom (and yes, my gamma is at 1.2-ish and monitor is calibrated.

Also, the file is M08, I've tried updating the title but no joy. It's that mission with cloudbase at 10000ft (just right ontop of the mountains) where an Mi26 Halo unloads a Sa9 in the area while you're approaching it. -
I did ragequit so no track, might provide one if it helps. However, I do everything by the book, frequencies are correct as I listen to the pre-takeoff brief etc... even during the mission there are voiceovers (chit chat with tickles) the issue is: the wingman does NOT take off, he does not even move from his parking spot. I think this might be due to the flight of x2 A10 returning and getting stuck at the parking (as in they brake at the edge of it and just stand there), the wingman AI sees this and deems unsafe to taxi while other aircrafts are using the space perhaps? The thing is, this is one mission where some help from the wingman would be very welcome to optimize ordnance delivery, there's just too much to deal with with x1 (maybe not too much, but having another platform would make things easier). I understand this should be due to DCS not directly to the campaign, but maybe removing the x2 A10s landing and taxiing woulf fix the issue? Running 2.5.6.47224 with no mods whatsoever.

Why do I get the feeling that the whole thing is moving towards a WW2 sim kind of thing? After all the "Modern Air" moniker has been abandoned ages ago. (I still have a physical copy of LOMAC on my shelf...)

Honestly, I did preorder it et all but I'd like to see bugs fixed first. performance go up (this would be the big one - and why do we need deferred shading anyway?). TGP not seeing glowing rocks and lava streams + walls on fire (as in: usable again) FA18C radar elevation not "sticking" because you switch weapons IDK what else but these are the three that are bugging me the most atm... So yeah, if carrier is delayed because we get fixes, I'm 100% behind that. Ontop, what does it add? We do have the Stennis...
