resolved PERF CUR computation - problem of pressure (only?)
SPAS79 replied to vctpil's topic in Bugs and Problems
I am getting this too... is there any solution? -
getting coordinates for target points from f10 map
SPAS79 replied to poochies's topic in DCS: AH-64D
Nah it does not. Or, it works but yo don't have a reference pointer on the map to be sure which point you are liftingthe coordinates from. Better to use scratchpad in VR for now. -

Do you know if that works in VR? -
"X_legio" sounds italian enough. If that's the case maybe I can help you in native language?

Have you tried "enable device" or something to that effect by clicking on the name of the column? (either right or left click, can't remember actually...

XBox Controller for TEDAC ... My experience
SPAS79 replied to Draken35's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Thanks! For expanded functionality I went with shift keys (the two shoulder buttons) but I think I'll also implement advanced press hold / double tap logic on some (all?) Buttons via joystick gremlin, so I can have up to 5 functions per button. Remapped to a vJoy device instead of keyboard. For free. -
CPG Seat default camera position is too far forward and right
SPAS79 replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'ma read that but I've tried to move position and save as default. In VR. No luck, it always goes back to being hunched over the tedac. Luckily this is not game breaking and it's just annoying. -
XBox Controller for TEDAC ... My experience
SPAS79 replied to Draken35's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
IDK if you still need this, but I hit this wall some nights ago and I think I've solved it: you can change the driver of your Xbox controller and solve the issue. The only drawback is that the controller does not work anymore in the Oculus Dash, but that is a small price to pay IMHO to be able to use and remap the pad. You have to change the driver from whatever it is to HID-compliant game controller, redo the calibration and voila, the thing works, has two separate axes for the trigger which you can successfully remap with joystick gremlin. To change the driver, simply open "device manager", find your xbox controller, right click then Driver tab->Update Driver->Browse my computer->Pick from a list and select the driver as in the picture (yellow highlighter). I have tested and have this working with a Xbox One controller, both wireless and wired, that came with the original Oculus CV1. -

All very well said. Esp. the VR part. And aside from the fact that, despite still having my physical copy of Lock On Modern Air Combat I ignored DCS until I heard that it had a pretty gud Huey model in it, and that's what drew me in. 10 yrs later and I can now fly the A10C, the Hornet, the F5E, the Huey, Mi8, Ka50, and now the Apache. All in magnificent VR. Dude just do it. If you need someone to practice in Italian, count me in. I am dying to try this thing in w multicrew (even if apparently it suffers badly from desync issues). Also, it's in the free to play program so it does not hurt to try it for a couple of weeks. That's what I did and I clicked "buy" like three days later.

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply, dude. Yeah Tacview has been disabled many moons ago. As for the variability in results, go figure. I use the simplex shaders+3Dmigoto, maybe that eats fps. Or maybe it's Simshaker's scripts, or VAICOM or ??? But, are you running it in VR? [insert "But did you die.jpg" here] Sure as hell, when I read your other answer about hangars and Ugra being aware it clicked in place for me too, that's the moment where it is worse, it gets better the moment I get out of the parking area and when into the golf loop, it is already better. Being on 2.8 also doesn't help, as far as I understand (I had a long break... stopped playing last year and started again some 3 weeks ago). W/e, I'll just suck it up and enjoy the flying parts, not that we need to spend that much time with our faces in the dirt anyway.
-
I've been running it and find the FPS in VR to be almost vomit inducing when sitting on the tarmac. We're talking 20s-30s range, with heavy stuttering. When up in the air I have consistent 45 (I always fly with ASW/reprojection on). Rig is 12600K@5.2, 3090@470W max power limit, 64GB RAM, SSD. DCS runs on a Q2 at 1.4 PD global, on OpenXR, v2.8 OB latest I think choosing Syria as a map for this campaign and the fact that the airport and the surroundings are also full of blue units does not help. It is a shame, as I am loving the mission design (played through the first two and had a blast) but fighting through low fps to be able to fly doesn't feel right and takes me out of that suspension of disbelief...

Yeah, tried both sides. Nothing.

And yeah I played through the mission, moved the radio chatter to some free freqs (I think 134-135-136 or something) and radio comms were possible again. Now, as a quick AAR, we destroyed the three MiGs, the SAM site, the parked aircrafts AND the ZU-23s around them (if I remember correctly there was no mention about them in the briefing, nonetheless our JTAC insisted on lasing them so they got smoked) I tried sending the wingmen to the tanker while I was still engaging the AAA at the airport, but they would not so I sent the wingmen to the carrier (they kept answering "negative" or "unable" - I realized afterward that the tanker is a delayed start so it probably wasn't spawned at that point) Maybe something to consider for modification, like make it spawn a little earlier or just orbit somewhere from the start?). I finished with the airport and got on my way to the carrier and got the call about the convoy, to engage with guns, from a JTAC on the same freq. (which was confusing as through VAICOM the first call went to the airport JTAC not the Convoy JTAC, so maybe split them on different freqs?). Shortly after I received the msg about the tanker now being available. so I decided to go get fuel and then go engage this convoy. It was just that I COULD NOT refuel. I got close to the tanker but no matter how much I pleaded "ready pre-contact", I always got the "return pre-contact" answer. And I was in parameters. I have done countless refuels in the F18 so there was something wrong with the tanker (I could not see anything wrong in Mission Editor so IDK... but could not refuel). So called back the JTAC and told them they are on their own now as apparently gas stations are on strike and went on to land at the carrier. I landed and the mission ended. ... and I failed it. even if we positively destroyed every primary and secondary obj (minus the convoy) and got the "mission successful" message at the end, turns out I just did 25(/100?) points and the mission is a failure in the campaign screen (I assembled the missions in a skeleton campaign). WTF? All in all, it is fine for a single mission, might be gamebreaking in a campaign. Also, the mission in general is good fun, just some minor things, mostly with the radio as above: radio chatter is distracting, wingmen were not responding 100% of time, different JTACs should be on diff. frequencies, Tanker available from earlier AND accessible (I suppose maybe it didn't have the drogue/basket thing equipped but that doesn't seem the case from what I can see from the mission editor). Thanks for your work, 8/10 would play again.

Yeah just messin around in Mission Editor. Flight is on 127.000.

Hey @Roby7979, I just played the first mission (failing miserably) and I must say there is some quality work put into that! It does show. I have a couple of points I felt like asking clarification on, hoping you would not mind. 1) Radio chatter, it is awesome but it gets in the middle of own radio comms. As in, if I'm talking on a freq. IRL everybody else on that frequency keeps silent. This does not happen in game, radio chatter just goes on. If making it stop while active player comms (and AI replies) are playing, could you please make it an option to stop. As of now the only option is to mission edit it out. 2) Which frequency is my flight on? I have tried giving them orders on 127, 133, 155 but never got an answer, nor execution (e.g. closing/changing formation). Talking to Warrior 11 on 133 works tho. 3) is there a reason why i cannot hear sochi tower on 127 when they answer my requests/clearances? Can't wait to actually git gud and at least beat mission 1 !!! Thanks for any answer. Keep up the good work.

I gifted that license to someone ages ago, with the help of ED customer support. You could do that too.

"Sea Flea -- Mission Three" UH-1 (Single / Two Player co-op)
SPAS79 replied to cfrag's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Tried with no splash damage script. I seem to always get the three errors. You are correct, ignoring them will just start the mission normally, but I'd rather not have them there. Also, I'm finding this one particularly difficult. -
"Sea Flea -- Mission Three" UH-1 (Single / Two Player co-op)
SPAS79 replied to cfrag's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Thanks for looking into it. TBH now that I think of it I can't remember if I had added a trigger to load the splash damage script... In that case, the script might be the issue there. I'll have a check as soon as I'm back at my battlestation... And I was close, no. No triggers added. I'll try it again tonight and see how it goes. -

And this error, repeated x3, is what I get when starting this mission, both on local and dedicated server. -
"Sea Flea -- Mission One" UH-1 (Single/2 Player mission)
SPAS79 replied to cfrag's topic in Missions and Campaigns
A word of caution: if you play in VR with a VR shader mod installed - DON'T. I played this the first time in VR with the SIMPLEX 2.8.0.x shaders installed (as found here). Those make it use the NVGs like looking through a toilet paper roll... it was fun until I lost SA and went CFIW (Controlled Flight Into Water?). That was quite an experience and I now understand why we want quad-tube, wide NVGs devices for mission critical roles. Removing the HMD part (the stuff that does the NVG rendering in the shaders) restored the "fullscreen wide" NVG and made the mission playable. Other than that, very enjoyable. I'm off to the second one. PS played it on a dedicated server, was smooth AF. -
Bold Cheetah - A 13 Mission DCS F/A-18 Campaign by Sedlo
SPAS79 replied to Sedlo's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Hey @Sedlo yes the issue was i my hornet was idling at 66%, as soon as I pulled all the way back (makes it idle at 65%), everything is working as expected. Good call! It is a shame that there's no other method, like triggering on >x instead of ==x... In other news, i have just discovered the splash damage script, installed it and ran it during mission 02. Seems to be working as intended.- 415 replies
