  1. IMHO, I think that this aspect is overdone and needs to be tweaked by ED. I expect to see changes forthcoming that will improve dynamics as this early release helps to define shortcomings.
  2. Another current WWII SIM does this now by applying values to bullets for impact/penetration/explosion/incendiary and when they hit an object (engine/mounts/frame/fuel tank/hydraulic line - a damage/destruction value for the material impacted - (steel/aluminum/canvas) is applied in combination with the type of bullet and then linked to the graphic damage model to show oil/smoke-white-black/flame/engines departing etc. Additionally, angle of attack for the bullet determines the amount of skin penetration. So it is quite within the realm of simming right now. I hope that ED make a huge jump in this direction over what is happening now and I'm confident that they will in time.
  3. Since you were in an A10 and he was flying formation, I doubt it was a sound barrier sonic boom. I think what you heard was the afterburner sound kicking in.
  4. Ha, so did I. Can't find it now. Fond memories!
  5. They also cut-off at a specific distance as if there was an invisible wall that stops light suddenly instead of fading off into the distance.
  6. Already done and available. Check the mods section. There is an actual Spitfire .303 vid there which is used in the mod and also by other sims.
  7. Ah, thanks. So I gather than any updates to the missions are part of the general module update procedure?
  8. After reading through these threads - this has to be one of the most stupid questions to ask, but . . . . . where does one download Baltic Dragon's Campaign and Training Missions? I've searched and come up empty.
  9. Quote from pilots of the time: "Sounds like heavy fabric ripping"
  10. With a normal trim wheel setup (faster in this case), using stick programming you can slow it down if required - but, with a slow setup, you cannot speed it up through stick programming. So, increasing the trim speed to what a human hand can do covers both possibilities for us virtual pilots.
  11. That's encouraging. I'll check out saving a track today and hope it covers the whole takeoff and landing sequence and not put me into a field somewhere at lawndart angles.
  12. Here's some more that change the LED's when certain switches are set. Including dimming and turning them all off completely MapKey(&Throttle, EACON, LED(&Throttle, LED_INTENSITY, 43)); MapKey(&Throttle, EACOFF, LED(&Throttle, LED_INTENSITY, 0)); MapKey(&Throttle, APPAT, LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT+LED1)); MapKeyR(&Throttle, APPAT, LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT-LED1)); MapKey(&Throttle, APAH, LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT+LED2)); MapKeyR(&Throttle, APAH, LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT-LED2)); MapKey(&Throttle, APALT, LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT+LED3)); MapKeyR(&Throttle, APALT, LED(&Throttle, LED_ONOFF, LED_CURRENT-LED3));
  13. It's like bubble wrap - can't not do it! :)
  14. If there is nothing wrong with your setup . . . . then what boost and pitch are you using? boost 4 at full pitch works smoothly with trim level boost 8 at full pitch works smoothly with trim one down Slow is a problem identified and probably will be updated. Cheers. ps. I know you haven't mentioned it but also no flaps on takeoff.
  15. +1
  16. What are you looking for in a SIM? How do you measure your "bang for the buck"? What is your criteria for enjoyment - study sim? - archade? - dogfight? You will get lots of recommendations based upon other's criteria - they cannot measure yours. Perhaps it might be of value to go into each of the threads and read the reviews posted after initial releases and updates. That might allow you to compare your criteria to theirs and the producers and identify problems. Always fun researching. Cheers.
  17. Can anyone describe how VR works if you are wearing eye-glasses?
  18. I did not know that! I assumed that they were read left to right both sides in all cases and not in just some cases. OK - the devs have chosen the most common method so this is NOT a bug. Rather than delete this from the bugs category, I will leave it in case others have the same concerns - but I will change the title. Thanks guys, Cheers
  19. My settings are the same. But, I do not have to touch the rudders on takeoff by having the rudder trim FULL right with a touch of aeleron right when required - throttle up slowly.
  20. +1 I've managed to reduce the speed of the Rudder trim through WH Target Script but cannot find a happy medium for fine tuning versus quick adjustments. The Elevator trim is certainly very slow and I cannot adjust it out.
  21. All .trk files I have made so far do not reproduce correctly. The usual issue is that once the .trk starts to play, within 30 seconds, the Spit noses down and crashes into the ground or slowly descends into the ground. Repeatable.
  22. I evaluated a variety of trim settings, RPM and Boost starting with WAG's takeoff vid. Leaving the stick centered and a little right aeleron, coupled with a smooth throttle increase, I've found the following works best for me: Boost 4, RPM 3000, Pitch Trim 0, Rudder Trim full right. Boost 8, RPM 3000, Pitch 1/2 degree down, Rudder Trim full right. I do not experience any "float" or zoom up at these settings. It will lift of by itself. Once established and gear up continue to trim for level flight. Cheers
  23. Aircraft identity lettering left and right side does not match in supplied missions and also missions created in the Mission Editor. See pics below: Left Side ID.jpg Right Side ID.jpg
  24. Interesting point. Also, back in the day, sawdust filled sausages might have kept the pilot's weight down regardless of the Ale. :)
  25. I agree. It's possible that - as I understand it from pilot info from time to time - that it is harder on the computer than doing it actually. 2 dimension, feel etc. etc. One can only hope. :) Cheers
