  1. The patch was primarily to prevent icing up of the muzzle before firing.
  2. Not quite. Canada's role, Domestic, NATO and UN is undergoing evaluation in consideration of shifts in world affairs and alliances. Once that is completed, then they will go shopping for equipment for the four services to meet those requirements. There is a lot more to it than just picking what the public assumes is the "best". The previous Government got into bed with the U.S. military industrial complex. Hardly an open bidding process.
  3. Thanks Hans, Very much appreciated. Cats . . . .
  4. and . . . . be within 10 miles of the airfield for it to show.
  5. +1 I posted on this a few days ago. It is acting as though looking through the iris of a camera lens. The human eye does not darken down like this. If you angle off a bit you can see into the setting sun for example but this should not be necessary. The results are the same in F2 outside views.
  6. When flying at sunset at altitude with solid cloud cover below and the sun is below the horizon and there is a very nice deep orange-red sky glow - when looking into the orange-red sky, the view dims down so the view is totally obscurred. Like a camera iris closing down in brighter light. This happens inside the cockpit view and also in the F2 view. HDR: on Depth of Field: off Lens Effects: none
  7. It certainly does. I do feel however, that it is more suited to the American effort when flying the P51 for example. British reserve and all that. :)
  8. Yes, can't put my finger on it but I've removed other terrain mods and am now running with ED's only as I find it more satisfying compared to before. I'm sure it won't be long before someone with experience will come along and provide the details yay on nay.

    No update ?

On my system it is: Start/Eagle Dynamics/Update DCS World OpenBeta W10
  10. 1. Not a consumer responsibility. 2. No consumer responsibility. We are "consumers". 3. Not my concern. Let's not get carried away and presume the we the consumer have any obligation to get into the workings of the Manufacturer/Supplier. They presumeabley have the marketing know-how. Sales/profit margins are the sole arbitor of success/continuation of most enterprises. While well intentioned, I think this thread serves no logical purpose between us the consumer and the manufacturer. It is, IMHO, a large presumption to assume that ED want or need this input. It's their process - not ours. My only recommendation if asked by ED, would be to provide a better communications process to manage consumer expectations. It's just Marketing 101. Nothing personal intended.
  11. Now Typhoon and Tempest - a different story. 4x20mm AP. + rockets. Sure would like to see either one in DCS.
  12. My understanding is that the IX version was not yet available during the BOB. This is misleading. II certainly was.
  13. OK, got it thanks . . . will play around a bit.
  14. I'll have to try this and compare it against my Target Script profile. So as I understand it, the 3 pos. menu will allow for a "forward/middle/back" or just a "forward/back"? Cheers
  15. Sigh, someone always speaking for me! (we?)
  16. IMHO, there is no possible release of new aircraft until v2.5.X is released. My understanding is that ED is working as hard as possible to get this upgrade into place and most of the effort is to accomplish this. While aircraft versions such as the F-18 are in the works, and third party new aircraft are being worked on, the major effort is to get 2.5 out the door, beta tested, moved into final release first. Then, IMHO, we will start to see new aircraft arrive. PLUS - for an appropriate F-18 evnironment, carrier ops should be a must. I for one, would not be surprised if this element is also awaiting the v2.5 release. (Not to mention the strait of Hormuz). Gentlemen: sequencing and time. Priorities first. Cheers.
  17. Beagles, my favourite dog! After having one for 12 years, I always smile when I think of her. :)
  18. Interesting test. I find that landing is so much better in this last build but . . . following your comments, I also find that the aircraft does have a sustained speed on the runway before it finally slows enough - and the nose stays up a long time because of this. (IMHO) Really enjoying this aircraft much more now and also Nevada works quite smooth for me - no stutters or pauses.
  19. Could you point me to information on how to check or do that? Thanks,
  20. Just sit in the cockpit and immerse myself in the ambiance.
