Fox

Seeming lack of power despite instrument indications
iFoxRomeo replied to SMH's topic in Bugs and Problems
Please read his post again. This surging, was not in the posted track. You used "EA" as explanation for the lack on a proper engine damage model. And the Anton is the prove that EA is not a clear border. And why does the yak have to wait for the anton and the jug to be finished? It is embarrassing. So much time passed already yet modules don't get finished... I'm drifting, that is a different topic. Fox -
Cool. Ganz schön viele Flugplätze und große Abmessung. Fox

Seeming lack of power despite instrument indications
iFoxRomeo replied to SMH's topic in Bugs and Problems
RPM AND MP are a power indicator. RPM alone isn't. With your replay I can reproduce it. If I take over the flight before the waiting at the runway, the engine is fine. That turbo-surging was probably caused by the not closed/locked primer handpump. No oil temperature/pressure in the P-47 has any influence on the engine at the current state. You can keep every cowling closed at full power till your fueltank runs dry. It's the same with the Anton and the Yak. No engine damagemodel. Sparkfouling is modeled. No Spee. Anton isn't EA anymore, yet still no engine damage at all. Fox -
You can drop the bomb with delayed fusing just before the aircraft hits the ground. Without delay you have no chance to survive. With delay you climb a few feet, initiate a turn, look back and see the explosion and your aircraft is perfectly fine (unless you are hit by groundfire) There seems to be no difference in "waagrecht" or "sturz". Fox

Seeming lack of power despite instrument indications
iFoxRomeo replied to SMH's topic in Bugs and Problems
Looks like sparkplug fouling. You are waiting a long time at low rpm. When I takeover the flight and skip the warmup, the engine is fine. As Art-J said. Currently not necessary to warm up the engine. Warm up is not correct and no engine damage from not warming her up. Fox -
When in DCS the Sabre's droptanks are jettisoned, the part that looks like a pylon/bombrack remains at the aircraft. But that is not correct. When the outboard tanks are jettisoned only a few pins remain under the wings. The inboard tanks have a small ferry beam which remains attached to the wing. Currently in DCS the tanks get jettisoned, but the wannabe pylons remains attached to the wings. That is not correct. I finally found a videosequence that shows, that the tanks and "tankpylons" get jettisoned. The tank and its pylon are one unit(as seen in the video). The bombracks on the other hand remain attached to the wings after dropping the bombs. This problem is probably only cosmetic. At sealevel the sabre reaches the same topspeed with and without the tankpylons. After dropping the tanks there is no topspeed loss. Fox

I would buy at least two licenses of a late DCS:Bf 109-F4 and donate it here, because I think this would be a awesome module. Fox

Bei den Warbirds scheint sich das nicht auszuwirken. Fox

Versuch mal "reaction to thread" was einzustellen, z.B. horizontal maneuvers... Muss nochmal nachschauen, wie es genau heisst. Fox

After Manual Engine Start: Engine runs irregularly
iFoxRomeo replied to LeCuvier's topic in Bugs and Problems
Did you lock the primer pump? Rightklick after pumping. Fox -
Ja, hier Punkt DCS World, letzter Unterpunkt. Es wird noch daran gearbeitet. Chizh hatte hier was dazu geschrieben. Fox

Hast du Mods installiert? DCS Reparatur durchgeführt?

Nexo, jetzt geht es. Seit dem letzten OB update. Im März ging es noch nicht. Treffgenauigkeit ist bei 900m Kreisdurchmesser.

Here! I love the map. It has enough variation to not look like a copy and paste map like Normandy(or extreme Rheinland in another game). ED really did a good job with this. It is problematic to fly in VR because of the poor performance, but I'm sure ED will optimise it. Is it impossible for you to enjoy the "experience" when you pass a area and see a house or industrial area, that wasn't there in 1944? Why? It is still a game only. Enjoy it. Historical accuracy doesn't exist in this environment. And I don't think we (developer and community) should put our emphasis on this. It doesn't change the outcome of a dogfight, or a ground attack. How many aircraft do fight in game against each other vs. what happend in 1944? How many armchair Pilots abuse their sim-aircraft to an extend a real pilot at that time would never even think of, because he wants to get home? Take a step back and enjoy it. There is no need for frustration(I need to tell this myself in DCS again and again). I'm not saying that it can't be improved. Provide a historical map and then ED can change it, when recources(time&money) permit it. Fox

Bombing the the FW190 A8 - Sometimes bombs don't explode?
iFoxRomeo replied to panzerd18's topic in DCS: Fw 190 A-8 Anton
Who asked for scientific evidence? This is a software. These software-bombs need proper hit-detection. Maybe there is a bug in the hit-detection of some bombs. Has anyone experienced this rate of unexploded bombs with US/UK bombs? Anyone seen the bombs dropped by B-17 to fail(graf spee, I'm talking about in game of course)? Or with any aircraft in DCS? Hence the question. Is it on purpose programmed that the bombs have a certain rate of failure, or is it a bug in the hit-detection? First case is fine, but then please for all bombs in game with realistic rates of failure. Fox -
Historical P-47 Pilot Training Manuals

Thank you. I didn't have the second manual. -
Fw-190 A-8 (another great startup sound)
iFoxRomeo replied to wizav's topic in DCS: Fw 190 A-8 Anton
It rumbles when Volker opens the Canopy. That shows the quality of the microphone/attachment in the cockpit. -
That's because there is no engine overstress modeled. Like in the Anton, or the Yak52. Interestingly the Turbo can be damaged by overreving it. Actually 3 minutes should be fine for warm up at normal temperatures. Fox

Never had I this happen to me. I wonder why this happens to some and some not. Pikey interesting behaviour. Will look for it on my next fliight. Fox

cooling system is not function when in Manuel
iFoxRomeo replied to CCCP_gd's topic in Bugs and Problems
Any chance you found this problem while idling on the ground? You need more than idle rpm for the cooling flaps to work. Fox -
Thank you! Unfortunately Integrity Check fails. ED, it can't be too hard to make a copy of the Bf109 propeller for all prop planes and place it into an option for VR.... Fox

Here is the link. But you should check your browser. I have no difficulties with embedded videos. edit: maybe youtube hat a delay in releasing the video. Should work now Fox

Well... it depends on RPM and ATA. Fox
