    AI only I believe.
  2. Intellectual rights are always a thorny matter. But they exist and are important. How would you like someone coming to your place, and getting into your wheels and driving off? In the eyes of the law, ownership is ownership. Unfortunately, it seems there is not much being done by ED to establish whether those rights have been wavered in this case, but leaning on the side of the originator seems to be the approach taken until proven otherwise. Such is life. I am sure once the facts are established, the mods will return.
  3. It's a great idea, but at present, all people signing on to a server would need all the stencils on their own hard drive to see them globally. If we could have a similar system to the way Bort numbers work, but with letters, and of course more than just three characters, it might work very nicely. But I wouldn't hold your breath for this one. Even in the real world, there is no guarantee you'd fly the bird with your name on it as the aircraft are generally rostered and not treated as one pilot's domain.
  4. You've all gone crazy! Ring wraiths in DCS World would be so unfair to mere mortals!
  5. It depends on whether you want to learn NATO or Eastern Block instrumentation. Isn't a very straightforward choice based on that alone?
  6. The basis of whether metric or imperial measurements are used is down to the presiding aviation legislation body. In the whole of Western Europe the standard is feet for altitude as laid down in the ICAO originally agreed in the Paris Convention of 1919. There was also a convention in Chicago in 1944, which laid down the articles of civil aviation law. The USA uses feet for altitude, and inches of mercury for pressure, and both Nautical Miles and Kilometres for distance measurements and knots for airspeed. Western Europe uses Feet for altitude, hPa (hectopascals) for pressures, feet for altitudes, kilometres and nautical miles for distances, and knots for airspeed. The old Eastern block of nations, pressures are measured in millimetres of mercury, altitudes are measured in metres, distances in kilometres and speeds in kilometres per hour. None of the standards have anything to do with domestic weights and measures, but were agreed (by committees - which explains the chaos as always) at conventions.
  7. Oh sorry, I thought you meant this one... https://www.facebook.com/RetroImageFun/videos/1728844017150940/
  8. A bit more information would be useful. VR or flat screen? Resolution? Are you using any mods such as the neck position mod? All highly relevant if you want to find a solution. Have you tried adjusting the in-cockpit viewpoint? It may be that you need to move your eyes lower rather than the JHMCS being incorrectly projected.
  9. It does look good. The horizontal debris spread looks excellent. Whether it's new or not.
  10. Have you updated DCS World Beta yesterday evening or today? You need the Open Beta v1.5.3.23788.
  11. I think there is a problem with the flight model. I have tried all sorts, but it still won't jump over the moon. WIP?
  12. The targeting pod is the delay. Same reason the AGM-65 suite is not complete. I don't expect we'll be waiting too much longer for the TPOD to make an appearance, but not this update it seems.
  13. Just make sure you are running the latest update and you’ll see them.
  14. Bugs Bunny sim too?
  15. According to the latest video from Wags, we'll see the JHMCS this week. Whether that also means we'll see the other stuff he said would be here at the end of October is of course in the lap of the ED gods.
  16. Received mine too now. Very simple to fit, and makes a big difference. My order number was 1259 Thanks.
  17. As Kutaisi is not in US controlled airspace, I'd say the FAA has very little say. Runway headings are rounded, there is always a difference between true, grid, and magnetic headings, and they need to be factored in. Magnetic variation is set at 6 degrees E. The visual approach chart that comes with DCS World shows the runway heading as 248/068 degrees.
  18. Loving the carpet Jabbers. I'm guessing it doesn't show the stains? Really rate your videos too. Thanks for all your work, it is much appreciated and highly entertaining too.
  19. Well, first - download it. Then, I'll probably "feel the need - the need for speed" whilst working through the cold start procedure.
  20. Thanks Alerax for this great mod. What wording would you like mission builders to use when acknowledging using your code?
  21. Commander Air Group
  22. The more control we give to server admins the better. Same applies to mission designers. If we can make it possible, yes, please.
  23. Reread the post immediately before yours for the answer to your question. Nozzles at that angle ensure flaps can be lowered without being affected by the hot exhaust gasses.
  24. One little suggestion is to add a bigger delay between the "call the ball" transmission, and "roger ball". The pilot needs enough time to give his side number, aircraft type, ball or Clara, and fuel state. That's not possible between the two AI calls right now. Loving your work though, and looking forward to seeing the Case 3 stuff too. Once again, thanks for this excellent contribution.
  25. As stated, they are aiming for "this winter", so the consensus is, withholding any last minute difficulties, that we may see the F-14 around Christmas, though of course winter doesn't end until March 21st, so their forecast would still hold if we were to see it around Easter. There is unlikely to be any more information, or a concrete release date until much closer to the end of the year. That's my guess anyway.
