Thanks silverdevil, I will do that. I have had an issue with Win 10 updates recently which my local repair guy fixed, it might be related to that. I think your right, its a Windows issue, not a game issue. Many thanks.

I cant get a dcs log from this error, it crashes my PC back to zero and no log is created. What I have noticed is that its only happening the first time I run a more complex mission immediately after a game update, and only sometimes, not always. Every time I run that mission again when there has not been an update, it works fine. Game update - Run the mission - Crashes Normal Load the Game - Run the mission - No problems.

I'm getting this when I run a large size mission, can anyone point me in the right direction for fixes. It's only happening when I run a DCS mission, not at any other time. It's not happening on small missions with just a few aircraft involved. Go to your game folder - find the folder bin-mt, scroll down until you find ModelViewer2.exe - right click on that and create a shortcut to it, place it on your desktop - problem solved. The older version no longer works, you need this version.

I never had a template, and I never created one, these were all drawn freehand. The URBI template came along later, and I can confirm it is excellent. I think this is it but I'm not sure, I did these a long time ago now. I dont think he will mind me passing it on. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/rp0z65yn2b6fkl5x6hzop/C-47_PSD.zip?rlkey=1pmk4z9f1blmj01yes9ppiyp4&dl=0

Militariy Aircraft Mod

A400M: Tried all the Liveries tricks I know, nothing is working. I'm guessing the edm will have to be redone, I dont know what's wrong. -

Recent game update (Oct 20th 23) has really screwed up the A400m Textures/edm. Have not figured out why, yet ! -

ADMIRAL189'S CORNER - INCOMING SHIP MODELS
crazyeddie replied to Admiral189's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
You can adjust these wake files a little, there are 2 settings you could tweek to fit the craft your using. presetId = "ships_name" shipWakeSize = {0, 0} -- these 2 You have to get the bow and wake in the ships lua right first then play around with it from there. I dont like or use the wake effect personally (too many straight lines in the water for me) so I'm not sure what those 2 values are, but play with it, that's how I would work it out. -
Yep, just checked them, been ages since I looked at them too !!! A small taster ! The rest are in the skinpack. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/eo1whkpso7vtyawekg2nb/CrazyEddies-Yak-40-Skinpack.zip?rlkey=9qg4lhcwthp7bfqd8y5oyzg6e&dl=0

Eduardo Didnt see that error, its so long since I looked at these skins. Delete that line from the description.lua - the livery will then load the default texture OR Simple solution: In the description.lua in any livery you want to see or repaint the interior textures change this line {"Interior", DIFFUSE , "c-47_interior_d", false}; ---- I had not included that skin in the livery's, cant remember why not now ! Change it to this (Change the word 'false' to 'true' ) {"Interior", DIFFUSE , "c-47_interior_d", true}; ---- The Livery will now look for the interior skin in the main texture files If that does not work let me know and I'll fix it some other way.

Somebody was asking for WW2 UK Liveries for the ED C-47. I did these when the aircraft first came out a few years ago, waiting for an ED template which never appeared, so I never really finished them as I would have liked. I think they still work. There are quite a few more, civil and military, all within the 2 packs. You are welcome to do anything you want with them. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/4kejgxpd9g7opp73kmwnh/CrazyEddies-C47-Skinpack-Military.zip?rlkey=sw1jtq3l4sr2c3ia3dhz410bv&dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/7hkfe68jmn40th5xxiass/CrazyEddies_C47_Skinpack_Civilian.zip?rlkey=e0gus99etepcs8vz6uxg3kv2x&dl=0

Thats quite difficult to achieve. The ground is very uneven in places so the concrete 'blocks' have to be quite thick to compensate for the undulations, and even then a large block will almost always disappear on one side or corner depending on how the ground below it lies. The block when placed will be flat, or it might tilt dramatically (I'm not sure why that happens but it has to be something to do with the ground underneath it I expect). So, you are probably restricted to quite small blocks of concrete and putting them side by side, BUT its very unlikely they will meet up perfectly along the joining edges. The only place you might be able to get a good match is on an existing in game concrete texture, but there would be no point in doing that of course. Your other choice is to make a very long or very large block of concrete and find a place where it does not tilt or fade into the sloping ground below it too much. We never managed to do it well. Hawkeye and I played around with this ages ago, we made a few small blocks with a bit of thickness to them and I use them a bit, but there is no damage model so any vehicle you place on them sits on the ground below the block, not very accurate really. No aircraft could land on them, we found they will always crash because they are landing on the ground underneath, not the block. We never tried to resolve that, better things to be getting on with. The chances of finding a long enough bit of map to place a single runway on as a single block, say, is pretty remote I fear. Your other choice is to edit existing game ground texture files but that's a huge task and not one I would spend time on. Others have done that by creating better textures for certain maps and I have done a little bit of that to my own Caucasus Map but that took me a huge amount of time to do and again I had other things I wanted to be doing. There were a couple of Mods, one done by eightball I think, of a building you could add floors to, but I'm not aware of any large concrete block or long runway mods. It might be done one day, so keep asking.

It would require the refueling pods to be attached to the A330 and the Mod updated for the RAF Voyager version, the Mod is a pure airliner at present with no refueling capability. The AirTanker version being used as the RAF Airbridge to the Islands are air tanker capable but I have not seen one with pods attached, yet, but I am sure they can be so fitted. The Company blurb says that is their purpose, and to support the RAF Voyager Air Tankers.
-
A couple of RAF A330 Liveries including the Current RAF VIP, Current Falkland Island Airbridge provided by AirTanker and bog standard Voyager, plus a fictional light Voyager. None of these are proper in game tankers, the Mod does not support that as far as I am aware. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/sqqf31bsrrqjfny37fugk/CrazyEddies-A330-UK-Military-Liveries.zip?rlkey=hy1h4gs047v1f257iin00am2f&dl=0

Sounds like a description.lua error for that particular livery. Compare the lua with another of the same kind - the formats should be the same, more or less. Pay particular attention to the last word in each line. true = That livery looks for that texture from within the Mods main texture folder. false - That livery takes that texture from within that livery folder If the texture file isnt where it should be according to the lua then it will show up as a Missing Texture. Solution - Correct or Fix the description.lua, OR find the missing texture and put it in the right place.

ADMIRAL189'S CORNER - INCOMING SHIP MODELS

Admiral - I am not seeing that anomaly being reported by flag02004. It might be a graphics card issue or something, but no sign of it on my game. Eddie -

It must be catching Rudel ... I started to clean out my socks drawer a few days ago and I found a half eaten jam sandwich in there, corners nicely curled up. Cant even remotely remember when I last made a jam sandwich ... -
Urbi - Thats perfect, can I have a copy please. If its for private use then I will comply with the authors requirements.

Did anyone every make an RAF Camo skin for this F4 Mod, I seem to remember seeing one a long time ago but see no trace of it now. ?
-
Hawkeye and I made some large concrete slabs that could be put together as bits of runways several years ago. We never found a long enough piece of land on the Caucasus map to place them in such a way as to create a new runway of sufficient length to operate aircraft safely, slabs either rode over each other or there were gaps in levels that could not be corrected. Aircraft crashed every time, usually on the level changes. Its a cool idea, but it really needs the ability to make the map/ground completely flat or some sort of Mod of sufficient length and depth to accommodate the undulations of the ground. Sounds simple and like I said, it COULD be done, but we never got it to work in a meaningful way.
-
Could work, IF you can find a flat enough bit of ground to put it on. I have never found any bits of ground that flat that didnt already have a runway or something else on it.
