  1. this is brilliant :megalol:
  2. Amazing work so far. One of the most in-depth mods I've seen lately.
  3. not a reasonable aircraft to hold your breath for. hell, even a MiG-25 would be very difficult itself to produce with accuracy in DCS. of course, i don't mean to get into a debate with anyone, but a 31 is simply not an option.
  4. The Viggen slot is probably mistakenly set to "Client" instead of "Player;" all you have to do is click on the AJS-37 in the slot UI, and you should be in the cockpit with the briefing page. It did give me the same issue whenever I went through the mission, but with past experience setting aircraft to "Client" in the ME while screwing around, this is likely the case and as such you should be able to spawn in by clicking on the Viggen's slot. If simply clicking on its slot doesn't work, after clicking on it look at the bottom of the slots UI and see if there are any "spawn," "OK," "fly," or any buttons of the sort and see if that spawns you.
  5. What a beauty! After 4 hours of downloading the open beta...here she is in all her glory. Taking my first multiplayer flight in the Aerobatics Online server: A fellow Viggen pilot decides to tag along: After disconnecting from AO and taking time for a few weapons tutorials, I start my first multiplayer combat scenario: Quite possibly the most beautiful aircraft in DCS to date, especially considering it's just come out of closed early access. A job well done, Leatherneck. :pilotfly:
  6. What an interesting find...in Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Sounds\ there's a folder called "VigWalkman" with a few files, one being an odd sound that I suppose might be tape forwarding considering the title of the sound file is "fast," another being a cassette player clicking sound labeled "Play" and the last a copy of DCS AJS-37's music labeled "Song 1", will we perchance have an ability to listen to music while we fly?
  7. Very simple modification; provides a new set of sounds for the "new threat" and "launch warning" sounds, based off of both DCS and real sounds of the ALR-56C and ALR-69. Although all four sound files are made from scratch, the only notable difference with the ALR-69 is the absence of aliasing of the sound. The ALR-69 is the RWR used in the A-10C, and the ALR-56C is the RWR used in the F-15C. Video: The ALR-** folders are made to fit with the JSGME program, however, you can also perform completely manual installation. ALR-69 and ALR-56 conflict if both are in use because they both replace "ThreatNewUS." Since this is the case, it is recommended to switch between the two packs depending on what you decide to fly for the day. Click to download Disclaimer: I am not responsible for the loss of original files if you do not back them up prior to manual installation!
  8. Some formation flying on Aerobatics Online yesterday...a server crash would explain the change of TOD on the third photo. Screenshots from the Cold War server
  9. d é j à v u (air canada 143 forward slip)
  10. can't even remember adding my thoughts to this thread,
  11. If you don't like the banner, get an ad blocker (I use adblock) and disable it via the blocking UI. for adblocker, you right click on the light row, go to adblock, and click block element, and go through the instructions. I personally keep the banner, but of course, there are two people in this thread (and many more on the forum) that don't, so I hope this helps...
  12. alternate history...instead of a simple naval campaign in WWII, fallschirmjäger troops land on the eastern side of the black sea, and soviet forces are to suppress the threat; lend lease P-51s are used by a few squadrons for both ground attack and air superiority although they aren't normally used for main operations dawn attack on a coastal outpost: heading to another target:
  13. What's this about?
  14. And yet there has been nonstop Christmas music on the radio since the beginning of November... and I can just as easily say that winter is not here yet...
  15. What we really need is a text bulletin board system with direct chat, and two 486 computers running the server. As a bonus, an air combat text adventure on the BBS as well. Get your 14.4k modems and DOS's, everyone! We're going back to 1992! Of course, all is in jest. :P
  16. I've wondered since I first flew it in other simulations, "how would it fit in as a module; how would it operate, how would it be useful," etc. I'm not putting this in the wishlist section, because: 1. ED and its third parties have enough modules, enough improvements, and enough fixes on their hands to take care of and likely do not have the resources to consider starting on a new module at the time 2. We already have two cargo/transport helicopter modules in DCS 3. Possibly not enough information, considering the Mi-6 had its type certificate revoked around the early 2000s following a fatal mechanical malfunction in flight that killed all aboard. IIRC, if an aircraft's type certificate is revoked, the aircraft is no longer airworthy and is therefore grounded. I don't believe any programmers would be able to get anything but flight data for the helicopter. 4. Not sure of what reputation it has other than its speed and size records, whereas the UH-1 and Mi-8 have a world-wide reputation. I have two ideas regarding usefulness & operation, one being that one Hook T can carry almost a small company's worth of troops, and two: the Hook A can carry relatively large cargo. Hell, it can even carry a MiG-15 under the sling (as shown in the photo) and likely a few UAZs inside the cargo bay. Considering the photo above, if this were to come to fruition we'd maybe have missions where we would carry aircraft to other bases closer to the fighting for fast interception, or further away from the fighting for repairs and the like. Again, I'm not wishing for such a helicopter, but it seems like such an oddball that I can't pass up talking about it. I mean, look at the size and angle of those wings! :P

reminds me of this post i made around january of 2015 while being unreasonably pissed off about some slightly ridiculous wishlist item: looks like the public is calling for one now. :P
  18. viewing the A-10C in the encyclopedia shows that zooming out around 30 ft from the wing gives me an A-10A but in the other LODs it's an A-10C again with the new antenna and glass cockpit A-10A is not affected.
  19. I guess an example would be, instead of "enfield 1-2, taxi to parking area," it would go something like this: "Enfield 1-2, exit runway when able, when vacated, contact ground on 123.45." "Enfield 1-2, ground, taxi to ramp E4 using taxiways B, B2, and E." "Colt 1-1, taxi to runway 36 via taxiways B and A, contact tower on 124.35 when ready for departure." You're looking for something along the lines of that, I assume. Now that I think about it, it actually wouldn't require too much voice work to accomplish (depending on how complex the terminology would be if ED went for this), but I believe it's something to be done after 2.5 is polished and released. In other words, it's of low priority, considering NV is still getting extra runways and towns/cities and the eastern Black Sea is getting a remodelling. Maybe they're already thinking of upping the ante with ATC and ground movement, but it would seem farfetched considering their current workload. Besides all the doom 'n' gloom, it'd be cool if this were to happen, might enable users in multiplayer to have much more usable ATC ground comms.
  20. ? first i've heard of a 135 pit. where is this?
  21. been in your shoes before. in fact, we're the same age. trust me, there'll never be a point where any of the aircraft in this simulator gets old until another sim from another engine comes to top it out in systems modelling. i don't see that coming for a long time, believe me. :)
  22. Thanks.
  23. You aren't implying that there's nothing wrong with the bugs that Chizh listed, right? Of course I have no quarrel with the current flight modelling, but some others, such as the OP, might. To Hummingbird: I do wonder when Chizh posted that, however. Fixes come in due time, especially with a beta module that may have other problems with higher priority. The best trick to make time fly faster is to either forget the problem for the most part and live with it, or have an even higher degree of patience for the developer (not saying you have a low amount). The essential part is to not dwell on it.
