The knuckles will work as will the at least the 2.0 Vive wands. There is a 1.0 and 2.0 wands (2018) and IIRC 2.0 wands are blue. I believe Pimax is sending the 2.0 "lighthouse" base stations which is only supposed to work with the 2.0 wands and knuckles. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

I'm switching cases to go back to my older 1500w (used to run 5 monitors with 2 video cards and got a good deal on it). Going back to it since I have a high overclock with fans/AIO, run a lot of USB devices off the motherboard, and it seems that one of the other crashing issues were cased by power spikes (which still seems to be fixed by the new drivers, but playing it safe). The power calculator I used was only 607 watts without OC and USB devices so decided not to push it on the current 750 PSU. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

The primary source of the SCL cited in the last thread was from a Wild Weasel wing, 35th Fighter Wing out of Misawa, Japan that can trace its roots back to doing the mission in Vietnam and their tail codes are even "WW". They fly Block 50 in one squadron and possibly 40 in the other at one point but both are now listed as F-16CJ. The other Viper wings listed did not have a Harm loadout and were F-16CG Block 40 or older. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Scrape posted a shorter version of this in the original 4 HARMS thread and got drowned out by the SCL cite that supported the more fun side so he got ignored. He addressed the SCL issue there and here and it was also pointed out by Dee-Jay at least that the SCL isn't the end all be all that the weapon can be employed, just flown. It also ironically doesn't list a more then 2 Mavericks loadout. I'm glad his excellent detail here didn't become TL,DR.

Thanks to you guys, I have a MSI at Provantage and a PNY from Office Depot. The first time Office Depot listed them they went out of stock but I checked Tuesday morning and got one in stock. It is taking forever to ship though, with an estimated delivery date of 10/8. Between the two, I like the MSI looks and features better, but they are supposed to have 5 POSCAPs (although the latest drivers may have fixed the crashing). There is almost no info out there about the PNY card and not a big fan of RGB lighting. But as long as Office Depot gets it here next week, I'll probably settle for it and cancel the Provantage order I've pretty much have given up on a FE. I'd love to get one but doubt I'll be able to and they are super heavy which would make for a creative mounting solution. Since I have an ASUS Tuf motherboard, I really wanted a Tuf 3090 even before the capacitor controversy, but missed my chance Tuesday when Newegg got them in stock and missed the notification email. [Official] SimShaker for Aviators
Snake122 replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Again, f4l0 has to have the modules first and buy them with his own funds. Granted this one isn't the most expensive upgrade, but donations help with new modules costs. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk -

Thanks a lot, that's great to know! Do you fly the Viper or F-14 module? I believe those are both that 10+Gb allocated in Afterburner/fpsVR which isn't the same as used but has made me hesitant on the standard 3080. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

I agree, just trying explain the problem. Of EVGA, only a preproduction FTW3 had 6 POSCAPs. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Try about 13:00. Yes, it is caused apparently by the POSCAPs, but shows itself due to GPU Boost, a standard feature: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/technologies/gpu-boost/technology/ He talks about how the nosie of the lesser quality capacitors cause more nosie, hence the crashes at higher clock that the card does automatically (also talks about real life experience with the wireless mic causing crashes during overclock attempts). I was hoping to get my hands on an ASUS Tuf even before this but now I'm pretty doubtful since the demand will be even great for them with their capacitors. But interestingly, there is a claim out there that an array of both types at the right amounts is better since both types have their own pros and cons at different conditions. Problem is the companies aren't going to stop the production to change that any time soon, especially with demand. It will be a bios fix making all these cards perform more slowly. Harlikwin, Check your shadow settings. These have some of the most direct impact on CPU usage in DCS and I only use flat shadows due to it. I also have a fairly extensive export.lua (SimShaker, VRK, TacView, my custom G-Seat for 3rd Space Vest) and I'm not noticing that much of a slow down. My CPU frametimes with a similar i7-9700kf@5.0ghz are normally in a 10-14ms range in SP with my GPU times being around 20-25 my Pimax 5k+ in the newer modules like the Viper. I'm hoping GPU times can go down to 13-14ms with this round of video cards (maybe 3090 or 3089 20gb since DCS allocates more than 10gb for the F-16 and F-14 on my system). Getting my GPU frametimes down to that across all the modules will allow me to drive the Pimax at 72hz without ASW/smart smoothing. I notice double vision of maneuvering aircraft in BFM with it on and since during the week when I don't have time to fly complete missions my main form of flying is BFM, I would like to get rid of that.

If you watch the JayzTwoCents video, the cards boost clock on their own, while ~1715mhz is all that is guaranteed, they all go higher as the card senses they can. You may even have to underclock a stock card and a permanent fix would be a GPU bios update. I haven't been paying attention to that angle so I haven't been noticing how high the clocks have been going in reviews to know how the overall performance is dependent on this feature.

I think they are waiting for the animated models. But I'm one of those guys that if I don't see a body it kills my immersion too. I'm not simulating being a QF-16 drone operator[emoji38] I wonder if these new models will automatically move the arm from the throttle so we won't have to toggle the body off as much. Again, valid point. I want the G tolerance fixed too but ED says it's a larger fix because they didn't make different levels across aircraft. In theory a G warm up is supposed to last for awhile, I haven't tested in DCS how long it actually has an effect, I've just noticed that it does. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Thanks for the update! What settings were you running the 5k+ at with PD super sampling? Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

I agree, just trying to give a practical tip since it does sound the fix is not coming anytime soon Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Remember also DCS does model G warm up too. I feel like it helps especially in the Viper

VRK - a virtual reality enabled kneeboard with touch and ink support
Snake122 replied to AMVI_Rider's topic in DCS Modding
The new version has some new neat features like a calculator tab as well. Also for those of you that have a H640P and your tablet buttons aren't working but stylus buttons are, there is a little lock switch on the narrow side opposite of the buttons that will stop them from working [emoji38] Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk -
I too bet that the increased VRAM versions are coming much sooner than the Supers and probably why there is no Ti versions at launch (although lots of people thought the 3090 naming wasn't going to be a thing too). It seems that the main reason for the low VRAM compared to the previous generation at launch is the GDDR6X isn't in enough production yet. Several articles are saying as soon as the end of next month, which seems too soon to me also. But I can see where they are coming from, as long as the demand for the standard versions isn't so great they can't get enough GDDR6X to make those versions or decide they have enough of a good thing going with the demand. I was wondering if that was a thing, carrying extra ordinance just to shuttle it from point A to B. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Yep, as stated in the third post in the thread. Anybody know why the 35th FW would have wiring to those stations that no one else is supposed to have? I wish it wasn't the only Wild Weasel wing on the list. I also like how it only has a max of 2 Mavericks for all the F-16 loadouts:music_whistling:

ALIC Tables for the AGM-88C HARM (.pdf and Kneeboard)
Snake122 replied to AstonMartinDBS's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Thanks AstonMartinDBS! VRK allows .pdfs, in fact it has even better rendering of them in the just released version. -
Well since we're not flying a "Frankenviper," circa 2007 would be perfect [emoji38]. And for sure when it comes to manuals needing to be cross checked! Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

And apparently he has sent it to them. That's the thing, I know Dee-Jay has done the work and doesn't just throw out info. Yes, he or anybody else may have overlooked or has outdated info. But within the Viper knowledge base of anyone I've seen here, Dee-Jay is so far the overall best from the years I've known him on message boards. Don't get me wrong, there have been many times I've been frustrated by his knowledge of why something wasn't realistic and there has been debates of which contradictory data source to believe (like this time), but I know he forms his information from as many sources as legally possible where most people find one source and then sometimes stick to it despite other sources to the contrary. Now sometimes that one source is the correct one due to circumstances and we may not actually know that. But when it has to be one of those best guess situations, I trust his background and use of logic that has ripped some arguments to shreds (the point of the pyramid cited earlier) to make the best available call. I wouldn't trust him as deeply for say, A-10 info, but I don't think I've seen him speak to that because he knows it's not his wheel house. Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Exactly, people complain about the Frankenviper but then feature creep for cool toys! You are ignoring every source that has said it would not work. Scratch saying they aren't wired and a couple others I have no personal experience with. Dee-Jay specifically stated that he got his information from an manual but due to forum rules can't cite more. You are saying basically because you don't like the messenger. I know Dee-Jay has gone to the top of that pyramid on all of his research. What makes you an SME that I should trust? The only sources for 4 HARMs is a ED test code Viper that does lots of capative testing before launches but they take publicity photos early in this stage. There is a statement that one PACAF manual states 4 HARMs is a valid loadout, this is probably the most compelling proof you have and Tomsk did a good job explaining it. But I would like another source since there are multiple on the other side that don't support it. I used to write aviation manuals and know how the sausage is made and would like an Avonics expert to kick in knowledge, from documentation if possible (even though this is what Dee-Jay is claiming he is doing. There are multiple reasons it could get added to a manual and still not be launchable as mentioned. Again, he said the info is gathered from avonics documenting that he can't quote due to forum rules. I did not find it loose text but very aviation manual style in the parts that were italicized...
