Same here... happened three, four times. Full crash. And not only with Unplugging, but plugging IN also. I have a headset, bluetooth wireless, but it sometimes needs charging mid-flight. Something is up.

ED has has used a cool F-14 banner on this webpage and on Facebook for weeks. I assume it is Heatblurs artwork. Much more in tune with the other backgrounds. Don't know why it is not used as a wallpaper for the module. Might just be that it is WIP though.

I have the same thing. I was told by a Virpil spokesman to open a ticket as this was "...usually very easy to fix". Be advised, Virpil have their own forum thread here under "Input and output". The ticket needs to be submitted to the Virpil site. Eager to find out what the solution is, as I have the exact same experience as you.

Axis problems continue... I don't know if it is the same for everyone or I have a bust product. I have a T-50 base, working nicely together with a Warthog grip. The software and stick work as advertised, and when calibrated through the Virpil software, it is precise and comfortable. However, the X-axis has a tendency to "drift". Sometimes, it only takes 1 or 2 flights, and I can see that the axis is drifting to the left or right- heavily. The only way to fix this is by recalibrating. This seems to get better/worse randomly, but it is always there, getting worse over time. There seems to be now psyical issues with the stick that I can see, I have checked that all screws are tight, magnets are in place etc. Everything seems fine. This problem has been here from Day 1, but I have grown sick and tired of the constant calibrating sessions. -

I can't get it to work either. Neither by installing in 'Saved Games' or in main DCS folder. It does not show up on the map list when making a new mission. Nvmnd, got it working. As is, this is not very interesting, BUT: If they make progress in terms of scale, resolution, populating with buildings etc- it could be VERY interesting. -
Normandy Colour Palette Oversaturated

Here is a good vid showing what Normandy looks like. Yeah, it is a bit high contrast, but it gives good reference for fields, patterns of vegetation, and the colours. I big thing that needs sorting for Normandy is the trees, that are now as bright or brighter than the surrounding grass fields. I wish UM the best of luck with their work. I run 4x msaa and everything on high. Doing a canyon run through wooded valleys used to look crisp as hell. Now every other tree has a much high contrast, resulting that dark spots can be seen popping in the canopy everywhere and the general look is worse. See the dude that posted the reference pics. I really does not look better. Not to complain- just want what is best for the sim. I'd rather have the old ones.

Thanks will do. Not interested in jumping back and forth. While it is cool to have it as an option, I don't prefer it as a playstyle.

(Sorry Wags for picking your statements apart- it is just good hearted rumour speculation) It is not about Wags preference- he said that something like, not word for word, but like "The new free map.... (Would be) something he always wanted/dreamed about" That does not imply that he chose it, but that he is happy that one of his scenarios of his choice is now coming to DCS. 2. Korea could be modern and not 1950's based. (Suited for both) 3. They have announced that they have 2 (yes two) WW2 map in development in ADDITION to the free map. It would make no sense that the free map would then be ww2 only. Now that Wags have chimed in we know a little better (Korea is out- not suited for WW2), but I am not very far off in my reasoning so far (Suits modern, close to watermass, flashpoint...) With this new info I would guess 1: Italy/Balkans (Fits all criteria) 2: Baltic/Northern Germany (same) 3: Could be North Africa somewhere as well (Lybia f.ex works for both modern and ww2) 4: Could off course be anywhere in the pacific (Works for modern, lots of water, works for ww2, except that the plane-set is way off). Just pure speculation obviously.:thumbup:

I might have missed something here. Say that me and my wingman, both using 'Jester' RIOs have four contacts on the nose, I would like my wingman on the right to take the two rightmost contacts, while I select the left ones. Is that possible to achieve without jumping into the back seat?

My guess is A. NOT desert. (We already have 2- with a third on the way- and don't give me "Syria is green also"- it is 80%+ desert. B. It will be a combat operations map (Not some US training base), ED has commented that due to "overwhelming input" that these are the types the users want C. Wags strikes me as a Hornet type more than anything, so I am guessing it includes water. D. It is not WW2. Wags in primarly a modern jet dude. E. That leaves scenarios combat scenarios that have turbulent areas, flashpoints, located next to a major watermass. This leads me to think 1. Korea. 2. Balkans. 3. Kola peninsula, northern scandinavia bordering russia 4. The Baltic. Just my 2 cents.

On the PG campaigns, I am the only one having trouble with the AI-Tomcats skins? THey show corrupted textures. Also, how much fiddling is needed to make the Iranian Tomcats B models (Heatblur model).

I see some challenges remain (But that is fine- understand that you guys are testing). When using a F-14 campaign, and I select 'escort' for 2 F-14 clients and 2 Hornets as extra, the Tomcats tend to be the strikers (Oddly enough) and the the Hornets the escort. Still love it though, but something to look at in the future:)

While I appreciate the point Phil, the map can obviously be used for mission before, during and after D-day. I can't stand the map myself for all the obvious reasons, but it is what we have and probably will have for a long time. No reason not to make the best of it's use, even if that requires imagining that the krauts owned the relevant airbases.

Alright- things are coming together and I have got all 2 radios and the ICS working with responses in the F-14. I have done some reading, but not understanding all of it- would someone be so kind as to write down exactly what I need to say to 1. Have Jester tune his radio to a set channel, say '251.0'. 2. Have Jester turn to a set TACAN, say 12X 3. And finally, have him tune to an unknown Tacan (for me), say the only airborne tanker 'TEXACO' (That was done through the 'TUne Tac' before. Input greatly appreciated.
